Workbank connects recruiters, applicants with ‘unique’ platform

MANILA - Talent solutions platform Workbank is committed to producing "prime" candidates by offering a unique job-hunting experience, its country head said Thursday.

Beyond being a jobs portal, Workbank empowers jobseekers by providing them access to training and resources that produces "strong candidates" recruiters are looking for, the company's country manager Regie Fernandes told ABS-CBN News.

Workbank also tapped private firms to make the whole process easier and more “enjoyable” for applicants, he said.

Its partner Zalora offers up to P300 discounts when purchasing clothes for job interviews while Grab offers P100 fare discount when applicants go on appointments with recruiters.

“Our partnership is not only about posting of the jobs. It's about arrangements that help jobseekers and recruiters improve on themselves. At the end of the day, we are sort of a conduit,” Fernandes said.

“The experience that they get by being with Workbank is a different one. At the end of the day, it's important for the jobseeker to get the job, that's the most important. For us, it's helping them do that,” he added.

Fernandes and Workbank's co-founder Jaison Francis have an extensive experience in working with Filipinos and the platform is a way of giving back, he said.

“I’ve always noticed that they would go the extra mile. They will always have the accountability and dedication. I fully realized that there is this term that personifies all of that characterizes the spirit called malasakit," Fernandes said.

The website was launched in the Philippines because of its people, which the company says is the country's "biggest and strongest resource."

“Filipinos are quite driven. There is a lot of passion. I can sense that they want to have a purpose. They want to have a meaningful contribution to whatever they do,” he said.

Asked if the platform is threatened by competition such as Jobstreet and Kalibrr, Fernandes said because of Workbank’s unique solutions and matching abilities, candidates “would probably remain with Workbank.

Jobseekers can sign up on the website for free and take advantage of its resources. It currently has 5 big recruitment partners and is constantly "building" its partners and user base.

Workbank will be formally launched in the first quarter next year, Fernandes said.
