NBA: It's Curry vs. Curry in Western Conference finals

For the first time in the history of the NBA, a pair of brothers will face off in the conference finals.

This, after the Portland Trail Blazers outlasted the Denver Nuggets in the Western Conference semifinals, winning Game 7, 100-96, on Sunday.

Already waiting in the Western Conference finals? Defending NBA champions Golden State Warriors.

The best-of-seven series pits Golden State superstar Stephen Curry against his younger brother, Seth, a reserve guard for the Trail Blazers.

According to Elias Sports, this is the first time that brothers will ever meet in the conference finals. They are also the first brothers to play against each other in any round, since Memphis' Marc Gasol and San Antonio's Pau Gasol faced off in the first round in 2017.

Incidentally, both Gasol brothers are also in the Eastern Conference finals. Marc is playing for Toronto, while Pau is signed to Milwaukee but has been ruled out of the playoffs due to injury.

Already, the banter has begun between the Curry brothers.

Meanwhile, their parents – Dell and Sonya – are going to "flip a coin" to decide who to root for.

Steph and the Warriors are looking for their fifth consecutive finals appearance, their third straight title, and fourth in the last five years.

The Blazers – led by the explosive backcourt of Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum – are making their first appearance in the conference finals since 2000.
