OnePlus 7 Pro moves closer to premium space, except for price

MANILA -- OnePlus on Wednesday launched a "pro" branded smartphone, matching almost all of the features of premium offerings from Samsung, Apple and Huawei, except for the price.

The OnePlus 7 Pro will start at $669 (roughly P35,000), roughly half the price of the iPhone XS Max and much cheaper than the Galaxy S10+ and the P30 Pro.

The screen runs nearly from edge to edge with the selfie camera hidden in a motorized pop-up module. The nearly 6.5-inch screen (measured to take into account the rounded corners) has a QHD resolution, a first for OnePlus, with a 90hz refresh rate for smoother graphics not found in mainstream phones.

It has 3 cameras on the rear, a 48-megapixel main sensor, a 16MP wide lens and an 8MP telephoto lens for up to 3 times optical zoom, OnePlus said on its website.

The OnePlus 7 Pro is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 855. RAM options are at 6GB, 8GB and 12GB and 126GB or 256GB of onboard storage.

The handset has no official water and dust resistance rating. It has a 4,000 mAh battery with fast-charging. The fingerprint sensor is embedded in the display.
