Hello Moto: Razr flip phone gets Android rebirth

MANILA -- Motorola on Thursday revived its Razr line of slim, clam shell phones from the turn of the millennium, transforming it into an Android-powered smartphone.

The 2019 Motorola Razr folds out into a smartphone with a 6.2-inch screen, unlike Samsung's Galaxy Fold and Huawei's Mate X, which are designed as phones that unfold into a tablet computer.

When folded, the Razr looks similar to the older generations, down to the small screen on the top fold, based on images posted on Motorola's US website.

The new Razr runs Android 9 Pie and Qualcomm's midrange Snapdragon 710 with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, Motorola said.

It has a 16-megapixel rear camera and a 5 megapixel selfie shooter. It has a 2,510 mAh battery.

There was no immediate word on availability in the Philippines.
