SEA Games: Natalie Uy follows in Obiena's footsteps for pole-vault gold

Kristina Knott denied sprint double after 100m loss

NEW CLARK CITY—Natalie Uy set a new Southeast Asian Games record on her way to winning the women's pole vault title at the Athletics Stadium here in Capas town, Tarlac on Sunday.

Uy cleared 4.25 meters to beat the mark by Sukanya Chomchuendee set in the 2013 SEA Games in Myanmar.

Meanwhile, Kristina Knott was denied a sprint double on the track.

Knott, who missed the gold by a hundredths of a second, lost to Vietnam's Tu Chinh Le, who registered 11.54 seconds.

The last Filipina to win the 100 and 200 runs in the SEA Games is Elma Muros-Posadas, who achieve the feat in the 1995.
