MANILA -- Another restaurant has become a casualty of the COVID-19 crisis.
DZMM host Ahwel Paz announced Monday that the branch of Dong Juan restaurant at Mother Ignacia in Quezon City has permanently closed due to the pandemic.
"Ikinalulungkot po naming ibahagi sa inyo na dahil po sa pandemic, sa COVID-19, ay magsasara na po ang Dong Juan Mother Ignacia," said Paz, who is one of the restaurant's managing partners.
He went on to assure the public that Dong Juan's other branches across the country remain open: "May mga ibang branches pa po sa ibang panig ng Pilipinas na puwede niyong bisitahin."
Paz also took the opportunity to thank all those who have supported Dong Juan's Mother Ignacia branch over the past six years.
"Maraming, maraming salamat po sa inyong suporta at pagmamahal. Sana po pagkatapos ng pandemic na ito ay muli po tayong magkita at magkasalo-salo," he said.
Dong Juan's Mother Ignacia branch reposted Paz's video on its Facebook page, saying that the restaurant has ceased operations effective June 15.
"Thank you for your patronage!" it said.
Dong Juan is known for serving comfort food items such as pizza, pasta, burgers, and sizzling dishes, among others.
