It's a girl for Patrick Garcia, girlfriend

Actor Patrick Garcia is now a father again after his non-showbiz girlfriend gave birth to a baby girl.

Garcia confirmed the new in an interview with ABS-CBNnews.com on Monday. "Nanganak na, kaya sa bahay lang ako," he said.

However, Garcia refused to give more details about the baby but revealed that they nicknamed his daughter Chelsea.

"Masayang-masaya, thankful. Bagong inspirasyon sa buhay. Nakaka-excite kasi mayroon na namang baby sa buhay," he said.

Garcia also has a son, Alex Jazz, with actress Jennylyn Garcia.

Now that he has two kids, the actor said he is more inspired to do better.

"Oo naman, palagi naman. Pati ang anak kong si Jazz inspirasyon din sa akin at bagong baby ko ngayon inspirasyon," he said.

"Mahal ko silang pareho at whatever time I could make with them ibibigay ko, kung anong spare time ako mayroon siguradong ibibigay ko," he promised.

It was only in January when Garcia admitted that he is going to be a father again as he denied that his partner's pregnancy was the reason behind his rift with Mercado.

Patrick Garcia vows to keep personal life private

MANILA, Philippines -- Patrick Garcia, who is expecting his second child this month, is intent on keeping his personal life private after the string of controversies that surrounded his previous relationship.


The 31-year-old actor told ABS-CBN News that he and his non-showbiz girlfriend have decided to name their baby girl Michelle Celeste, after both their moms.

The baby is due to be born some time in February, according to Garcia, who promised to be at the hospital for the labor. "First time to experience, that's why I'm very excited," he said.

Currently, the actor is overseeing the construction of a new house, which will serve as his family's home when they move in later this month.

Garcia earlier revealed his partner's pregnancy in late January. The move, the actor said, was a way of putting an end to rumors surrounding his current relationship.

"I'd like to keep my private life private from now on. I just want to mention about it (partner's pregnancy), para it will stop there and people won't ask and ask questions," he said.

In recent years, the former child star's relationship with Jennylyn Mercado has become a frequent subject of news headlines. He has one son with the actress, named Alex Jazz.
