LOOK: Sandara Park appears on PH mag cover

MANILA – Several years since her first magazine cover stint in the Philippines, K-pop star Sandara Park appears on the July 2014 issue of a local teen magazine.

Park, who is part of the popular girl group 2NE1, is the cover girl of the latest issue of Meg Magazine. 2NE1 performed in Manila last May as part of their “All or Nothing” world tour.

Park started her career as a performer in 2004 in the Philippines when she joined the ABS-CBN talent search program Star Circle Quest and finished as a runner-up.

After a string of film and TV projects, Park decided to leave for Korea to pursue a showbiz career there. In 2009, she took on the name “Dara” as a member of 2NE1.

Despite being an international star, Park said she often looks back at her early years as a showbiz upstart in the Philippines.

Red-haired KC Concepcion on Meg cover

MANILA – A red-haired KC Concepcion graced the September 2013 cover of Meg, with the teen magazine noting how the actress-host has grown to be “confident in her own skin.”

In an article for the cover published on Meg’s website, IamMeg.ph editor Carla Hutchinson wrote: “KC is worldly in a way that reveals her maturity, but she is eager in her knowledge that she will never stop growing up.”

“Our September cover girl had to be special,” she added.

Concepcion, daughter of celebrities Sharon Cuneta and Gabby Concepcion, is a regular fixture on fashion and entertainment magazines. Her last cover appearance is on the August 2013 issue of the women’s magazine Cosmopolitan Philippines.

For Meg’s September 2013 cover, Concepcion was photographed by Mark Nicdao, with styling by Rain Dagal. Lala Flores and Ren Bautista were in charge of her hair and makeup, respectively.

Concepcion was one of the lead stars in the recently concluded ABS-CBN primetime soap “Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala,” alongside Judy Ann Santos and Sam Milby.

The actress, who now sports black hair, said in an Instagram post that she is gearing up for a new project, not giving further details.

“Enjoyed our meeting today,” she wrote, adding, “This new project is gonna be good!”
