Camaya Coast Next Boracay — DOT

MARIVELES, Bataan, Philippines — Top officials of the Department of Tourism (DOT) were impressed by the unique beauty of the Camaya coast, during their recent visit in Bataan, and agreed on it being dubbed by locals as the next Boracay.

Camaya Coast, already loosely called by locals as “the Boracay of Bataan,” has been the province’s major tourist destination for the past years due to its pristine wasters white sandy beach, making it a place like no other in Central Luzon.

“This is our pride since our town has become more popular with the development of the Camaya coast, now the talk of the province due to its breath-taking view, clean surrounding and well-crafted design of its facilities and environment,” said Mayor Jesse Concepcion of this town.

The Department of Tourism visit started at the Camaya Coast located on the coastal Municipality of Mariveles and touted as one of the best tourist destinations in the country due to its white sand beaches and is also accessible to Metro Manila.

Developed by businessman Goody Ilagan, Camaya, which is just one hour away via Manila Bay, is off the coast of the Freeport Area of Bataan (FAB), now becoming highly-industrialized free port in the country with locators putting up shop.

“Camaya Coast is an integral part of the work-life balance lifestyle that the FAB offers its current and potential locators,” said FAB Chairman and Administrator Deogracias G.P. Custodio.

“While the industrial zone located at the FAB is focused on the business aspect of our investors' lives, the Camaya Coast represents the uncomplicated and relaxing lifestyle, free from the worries of work,” Custodio said.

Department of Tourism officials who arrived here recently were Undersecretary Ma. Victoria Jasmin with Director Ronaldo Tiutico, Mr. Warner Andrada, and Mr. Erick Villapando.

Together with DOT officials were members of the National Parks Development Committee headed by Executive Director Juliet Villegas.

The visit was initiated by the Congressman of the 2nd District of Bataan, Albert Garcia who was the author and father of the FAB law.
