John Lloyd, Angelica leave ball together

MANILA, Philippines – Actor John Lloyd Cruz and fellow Kapamilya star Angelica Panganiban were spotted holding hands while leaving the 6th Star Magic Ball at the Makati Shangri-La Hotel last Saturday.

The two arrived separately at the red-carpet event, where Cruz was one of the hosts together with Piolo Pascual and John Lapus.

Panganiban even initially said she sees nothing wrong about going to the ball alone.

But as the night progressed, Cruz and Panganiban were seen together several times until they left hand in hand.

In an exclusive interview with “The Buzz” aired the following day, Cruz, however, said it does not seem right to talk about his relationship with Panganiban because it may appear that he is using it to promote his upcoming film "The Mistress" with long-time love team partner Bea Alonzo.

But at the same time, he described their relationship as "special."

“Ang pinanggagalingan ko, for something this special, ayaw ko itong isabay sa promo ng pelikula ko,” he said, adding that his relationship with Panganiban deserves a “better timing.”

“For something this special, itong sa amin ni Angel, hindi sa umiiwas ako, hindi sa ayaw kong pag-usapan. Never kong gugustuhin na maramdaman niya 'yun, na hindi ko siya prina-prioritize,” he said.

“It deserves a better timing. Hindi naman tanga ang mga manonood. Opo, wala po akong sinasabing iba. Ang sa akin lang, yung sa amin gusto kong bigyan ng pagpapahalaga na tingin ko ay karapatdapat para sa amin,” he added.

Meanwhile, Cruz shared that one of the things he truly treasures in his relationship with Panganiban is that they know where they stand in each other’s lives.

“Isa sa pinakamaganda about this relationship, sa amin ni Angel, ang maganda dito is kaya namin, naiintindihan namin kung nasaan kami, kung saan namin ipo-posisyon ang sarili namin,” he said.

“Walang takot to do everything today because tomorrow hindi natin alam kung mayroon pang tomorrow. May nag-e-exist na paniniwala na you do what you have to do today, I’ll do what I have to do today, we have the rest of our lives,” Cruz added.

Asked if he is currently happy, the actor said: “Ang tagal kong hindi naging ganito kasaya.”
