New smartphone competes for business market

MANILA -- Gionee Communication Equipment Co. Ltd. is making its presence felt in the country by introducing an innovative smartphone meant to address the needs of businessmen.

“Globalization has ushered in changes in how businesses are conducted. These days, it is no longer enough for businessmen to have a telephone or laptop; smart phone that would enable them to accomplish tasks even outside of the office has become more of a necessity,” Gionee Communication said in a statement.

Gionee introduced recently ELIFE E6, a smartphone packed with features like an NQ Mobile Security and Anti-Virus. Businessmen who are into mobile banking will no longer have to worry about the security of their information and data, the firm said.

The NQ Mobile Security and Anti-Virus protects the smartphone from malicious websites when surfing the Internet.

These also give users a chance to recover their smart phone should it get stolen with its anti-theft feature that will alert the owner’s friends that another individual used the phone.

Others advantage of the smartphone are its screen size and Smart Gesture features, which allow the user to answer calls just by bringing the phone to his or her ear. Users may also answer or refuse the call by moving their hand up or down the sensor.

A user can also just slide their hands over the letters of the word they want to input on their SMS.

The ELIFE E6 is the flagship smartphone of Gionee, which was unveiled in the Philippines via a media launch early last month.
