2013-2014 Range Rover Recall over Airbag Problems
OVERVIEW
Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) conducts a recall of certain model year 2013-14 Range Rover vehicles. Nearly 4,000 vehicles are involved in the recall due to the problems with airbag function.
DETAILS
2013-2014 Range Rover recall is conducted because the problems with clearance will lead the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) connector installed in the driver and front passenger side seat of the vehicle to become disconnected. In its turn, the connector disconnection will result in airbag malfunction, i.e. the driver and front occupant are at the risk of injury.
SCHEDULE
The company intends to start notifying the customers starting from January 17, 2014. After receiving notifications, the owners of affected vehicles can go to the dealer for a free of charge remedy. Dealers will modify the area around the connector so that it never becomes disconnected.
CONTACTS
Owners of affected vehicles are eligible to contact Land Rover at 1-800-637-6837, Option 9. The recall number is P037. They can also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153).
