Top 'Tsinoys' crowned Mr. and Ms. Chinatown 2014

MANILA - Two Chinese-Filipinos bested 24 other female and male candidates to win this year's Mr. and Ms. Chinatown title on Sunday night.

"Tsinoys" Kurt Ong and Nicole Cordoves were crowned Mr. and Ms. Chinatown Philippines, respectively, during the grand coronation night held at the Aliw Theater in Pasay City.

During the question-and-answer portion, Ong was asked who is the international figure he would want to talk to given the chance.

He answered: ''It would be Justin Bieber because he inspires many people. And if you inspire people with your good works, you will inspire many people to do good.''

Meanwhile, Cordoves was asked for her message of hope to the people who are frustrated by the many problems of the world.

She answered: ''I believe that crisis is necessary in order for us to reconcile and have a better tomorrow. We should hold on to the little hope we have and make that spark a real flame—a trailblazer.''
