NEW YORK CITY - The latest and hottest rides on the planet were unveiled at the ongoing 2015 New York International Auto Show.
The Cadillac CT6 is packed with progressive technology such as surround video capabilities and night vission.
"The first ever CT6, It is prestige American luxury personified," Cadillac President Johan de Nysschen sad.
Lincoln debuted a futuristic Continental concept car, while BMW revealed a luxury sports car made of aluminum and carbon fiber that costs about $120,000 at least.
The New York Auto Show is also about fuel efficiency, smaller and lighter vehicles with better aerodynamics, and the future of electrified cars.
Fuel prices may have gone down, but consumers in the US are still looking for vehicles with better gas mileage.
The Chevy Volt 2.0 provides an electric range of 50 miles and a total driving distance of over 400 miles.
"It's electric, it's fun to drive, it's got enough range, that you're probably gonna be electric pretty much all the time," Pam Fletcher, General Motors' executive chief engineer for electrified vehicles, said.
But when it comes to the long-term future of the auto industry, GM's head of consumer affairs says that going electric is not enough -- the next generation of electrified cars are cars that generate their own electricity using hydrogen.
Fuel cell concept cars like Toyota's Mirai and Honda's FCX are leading the auto industry as zero emissions electric vehicles of the future.
"The reason it's not here today, two things, generating or creating the pure hydrogen in order to pump it to the tank is still a pretty costly and somewhat dirty process, so that's a problem," James Bell, head of consumer affairs at GM, said.
Bell says Toyota's fuel cell cars will be available in the market later this year.
The 2015 New York International Auto Show is open to the public until April 12.
