Where Paul wants to take Toni for honeymoon

MANILA – After his much-talked about proposal to Toni Gonzaga, director Paul Soriano said he is already looking forward to planning their upcoming wedding with his fiancĂ©e.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News on Monday, Soriano, whose latest movie "Kid Kulafu" finally opens in theaters next week, explained that both of them have been very busy these past few months.

“Very excited ako. It’s a new chapter in my life. To be honest, Toni has been very busy. I just came from LA. Toni left for Australia. I think the only time we are really going to sit down and plan this wedding is when she comes back,” he said.

Soriano, however, said he will let Gonzaga do most of the planning and he will just try to give everything the TV host wants for their wedding.

“I know she chose a dress already. I’m very behind. I haven’t even picked a suit yet. I’m going to work on that after ‘Kid Kulafu’ comes out. I can start focusing on the details. But for me, my attitude for the wedding is I’ll just follow. Whatever Toni wants, I will do my best to give it to her,” he said.

Asked if he already has a place in mind where he wants to spend their honeymoon, Soriano said: “Anywhere outside the Philippines.”

“We haven’t had that opportunity. We are both well-travelled. Ang importante magkasama kami. It’s going to be our first time to do a solo trip, so far away from Mommy Pinty so they can’t follow,” he said in jest.

Meanwhile, Soriano refused to answer questions as to whether he and Gonzaga are planning to have a prenuptial agreement.

“Honestly, let’s maybe talk about that some other time. Let’s focus on ‘Kid Kulafu’ now. We are a small movie. We need all the promotion we can get. If we can talk about the movie now, we can answer all those things in due time,” he said.

In a previous interview, Gonzaga said she has not thought about preparing a prenuptial agreement with her fiancé.

“Actually nung tinanong sa akin 'yan, saka lang ako napaisip. Dapat ba may ganun talaga? Kasi iniisip ko naman, hindi naman ako Zobel or Ayala to do a prenup. Normal lang naman ako. Kung ano naman ang meron ako, pinaghirapan ko,” she said.

Gonzaga also explained why she feels a prenuptial agreement will not be necessary in their case.

“Ang program ko kasi sa pag-aasawa, once you get into a relationship…you will try your very best to make it work. Sa akin, kapag may prenup, parang in the long run iniisip mo na kasi baka in the future maghiwalay kami so kailangan sa akin 'yung pera ko. 'Yung security nasa pera, wala sa tao,” she said.

Soriano proposed to Gonzaga last January 21 in the actress’ home in Rizal. They have yet to announce their wedding date.
