Claudine denies guy in posts is her boyfriend
MANILA -- Days after she set her Instagram followers abuzz with photos of her with a man many believe is her new boyfriend, Claudine Barretto finally broke her silence and identified the mystery guy.
In her exclusive interview with “Buzz ng Bayan” host Boy Abunda, Barretto said the man in the picture, whose name is Mark Anthony, is her friend.
“He’s my stylist. He’s one of my stylists,” she said.
Barretto further explained that she meant no malice when she told Mark Anthony “I love you” in her posts’ captions because she’s really that kind of person.
“Nag-thank you lang ako at nag-I love you. Ma-I love you naman akong tao talaga. 'Yun lang naman 'yun,” she said.
Barretto, who is currently embroiled in a legal battle against her estranged husband Raymart Santiago, said that at this point, her only hope is to rise above all the intrigues.
Aside from her legal battle against Santiago, Barretto also has a row with her sisters Marjorie and Gretchen.
“When you have two kids who are doing really well in school, parang feeling ko… I’m just so blessed talaga. I just look at them and I say na parang nakakahiya na ipakita na hindi tumayo agad para sa mga anak ko. Sana pagbigyan ako ng tao na to be the mom that I want to be, that God wants me to be,” she said.
The former ABS-CBN talent added: “Sana maintindihan ng mga tao na it’s not okay to destroy people’s lives and it’s not okay to have a crushed spirit.”

How Gab Valenciano proposed to girlfriend
MANILA – Gab Valenciano on Sunday shared how he asked for the hand of his fiancée, Tricia Centenera, in marriage.
Speaking on “Buzz ng Bayan” where he appeared with Centenera, Valenciano said he popped in the big question during the graduation party of his sister, Keana, last Thursday.
“I planned it a couple of months ago. Everybody knew except her. Nakakatawa pa nga she came in tapos sabi niya ‘I think we are late for the party.’ She was like ‘I think we have to get in line,’” he said.
Centenera said she did not expect it because all she had in mind was that they were attending Keana’s party.
“Everyone was standing with roses, the lights were dimmed and there were flower petals everywhere. There were 50 people standing there with roses. I was like ‘Oh goodness we are so late.’ I grabbed a rose and stand along the line. But Gab was walking me and I was just thinking to myself, what is happening? And then I saw his friends, my best friend, all standing at the end, I burst out into tears,” she said.
Saying Valenciano was fidgety the whole day, Centenera said, “Kasi he’s leaving on Tuesday. I kept saying, ‘You’re really uneasy. You seem really nervous. Are you okay?’ I just thought it was because the days he’s spending with his family are starting to countdown. He was always on the phone with his dad.”
Valenciano said he met Centenera three years ago on the set of the ABS-CBN Sunday variety show "ASAP." However, they only became closer three years later.
Asked how he felt that Centenera was already the person he wants to spend the rest of his life with, Valenciano said: “It started when we were in the States, nasa Denver siya and I was in LA. I told her ‘Why don’t you just pass by LA and let’s hang out?’ This was in January. And then she said ‘I’ll try.’ And the next thing I know ‘Okay, I’ll pass by LA for a couple of days.’ The moment I saw her, when I picked her up in the airport, I knew I was going to spend the rest of my life with her.”
While no definite date has been set yet, Valenciano said they are planning to tie the knot in February next year.

Accused in Vhong case backs out as state witness?
MANILA -- Jed Fernandez, one of the accused in the mauling of actor Vhong Navarro, has reportedly backed out from being a state witness.
In an exclusive interview on "Buzz ng Bayan" on Sunday, veteran journalist and Pilipino STAR Ngayon columnist Tony Calvento, who is helping the camp of Navarro in doing investigative and research work, said Fernandez initially expressed his interest to be a state witness through a friend.
Calvento said it was Fernandez's friend who personally met with him in a Japanese restaurant and revealed the supposed plan of Cedric Lee's group against Navarro.
"We went to a Japanese restaurant, I went alone at nagusap kami. Sabi ko sa kanya, 'Bakit kita tutulungan? Ano'ng sasabihin mo?' Sabi niya kaibigan niya si Jed Fernandez," he said.
According to Fernandez's friend, Lee called a meeting at a poolside of a hotel on January 22, the day Navarro was mauled, to agree on what to do to the "It's Showtime" host.
"Nagtawag daw ito si Cederic Lee ng isang para bang general meeting ng mga taong involved nang gabing iyon. That was January 22, the same day that Vhong was mauled."
He said Lee and his group all agreed to "teach Vhong a lesson."
"Masyadong mainit si Cedric, to the point na ang dating daw ni Cedric e gusto niyang patayin si Vhong," Calvento said. "Then after ng usap-usap na iyong they agreed to teach Vhong a lesson. What lesson it was, wala akong idea."
Calvento said the man he was talking to in the Japanese restaurant even called Fernandez who was crying on the phone.
"Tinawagan niya si Jed, binigay niya sa akin ang telepono, kinausap niya 'ko," he said. "He was crying, 'tulungan mo naman ako, natatakot ako kay Cedric, baka ako'y patayin, tulungan mo 'ko, bigyan mo ko ng proteksiyon, pero sasabihin ko lahat ng totoo.'"
Calvento said Fernandez, as a sign of good will, even revealed the identity of the person seen holding a duct tape with Lee's group in a CCTV footage the night Navarro was mauled.
However, Calvento only disclosed the suspect's first name, Edgar, in the "Buzz ng Bayan" interview, saying "he knows who he is."
He said Fernandez's friend revealed later in their conversation that Edgar is their family's driver-bodyguard.
After that, Calvento said he told Fernandez and his friend to seek help from the Department of Justice (DOJ) if they really want protection.
The two vowed to appear before the DOJ on Holy Tuesday, but both decided to go to the Justice Department on the Monday after the Holy Week, carrying an affidavit.
Calvento said Fernandez and his friend gave three reasons why they wanted to turn against Lee.
"They wanted to be a state witness, to be discharged from the roster of the accused.. para daw matapos na rin ang mga ginagawa ni Cedric, at kasi takot na takot sila kay Cedric Lee, para mabigyan naman sila ng proteksyon at ang kanilang mga pamilya," Calvento said.
However, Calvento said that according to Justice Secretary Leila de Lima, Fernandez, for some reason, decided to back out in fear for his life.
"I am only basing sa binanggit sa akin ni Secretary na he changed his mind, he's a cry baby and that he is very scared of Cedric Lee and what he can do to his family... Umatras siya," he said.
Despite this, Calvento said Navarro's camp remains confident because Fernandez and his friend already appeared before the DOJ and gave a lot of details.
"Humarap sila sa DOJ e, nagsalita sila at marami kaming nakuha." -- Buzz ng Bayan, April, 27, 2014

Sam Concepcion confirms relationship with Jasmine
MANILA – “I guess so. Oo.”
This was the confirmation from Sam Concepcion when asked on “Buzz ng Bayan” on Sunday if he and Jasmine Curtis are now officially a couple.
Host Boy Abunda asked the singer-actor the candid question to clarify surrounding reports that Jasmine’s elder sister, actress Anne Curtis, confronted him at Vice Ganda’s birthday party last month.
Although he has already spoken about it before, Concepcion reiterated that he and Anne have already settled the issue and are now okay.
“Yes, there was a confrontation that happened. She did go up to me and she talked to me. Hindi ko naman po sasabihin na hindi nangyari 'yun. Pero all for the good of everybody, naiintindihan ko siyempre. Kasi kung ako may nakababatang kapatid, siyempre gusto kong i-test 'yung manliligaw,” he said.
The singer-actor, however, explained that he did not expect it to happen that’s why he appeared shocked as was earlier reported by an online entertainment site.
“Nung nangyari po 'yun, my friends who were also in the party said, ‘Halika na, I think we should go.’ I was a bit of shocked and I just kind of… umalis na lang din ako,” he said.
As far as he knows, Jasmine’s family likes him as he has a good relationship with the actress’ parents.
Prodded if he thinks Anne also likes him for her sister, he said, “I think she’s for Jasmine’s happiness naman. Siyempre she does her part to stand up for her.”
Meanwhile, Concepcion played down intrigues linking him to his “Mirabella” co-star Julia Barretto.
“[Julia and I] work with each other for ‘Mirabella.’ Lumaki nang lumaki 'yung storya. Even she said hindi niya alam kung saan nanggagaling 'yung intriga,” he said.
In an earlier interview, Barretto said she only sees Concepcion as a big brother since they have worked together back when she was still young.

Manager defends Revillame amid gambling rumors
MANILA – The manager and friend of Willie Revillame came to the defense of his friend amid allegations that the television host has been losing millions from gambling.
In an exclusive interview with “Buzz ng Bayan” aired on Sunday, Jay Montelibano admitted that Revillame sometimes goes to the casino but belied reports that the TV host is addicted to gambling.
“I’d like to say na 'yung nalulong is not true. Yes, he may have gone and played out of fun. He may already have his share of wins and losses pero 'yung malulong is not really true and it’s not accurate,” he said.
Montelibano also denied a tabloid report that Revillame was held for two days because his loss allegedly amounted to P300 million. “It isn’t true. Like I said, hindi siya madalas (pumunta sa casino) tulad ng napapabalita,” he said.
Meanwhile, Montelibano confirmed reports that the Revillame has already sold some of his properties, but not because he lost millions.
“Actually, katulad nung sa Tagaytay, meron siyang dalawang properties doon… Upon the advice of his lawyers, we have been telling him, ‘Will, kapag hindi mo na ginagamit property mo, might as well sell it and use perhaps the money,’” he said.
“Even 'yung chopper, he’s not using it. To have it maintained on a monthly basis, 'yun lang hangar, may corresponding fees 'yun. That’s the reason kaya 'yung share niya sa chopper ibinenta na rin niya,” he added.
Last month, Revillame’s daughter, actress Meryll Soriano, said people should not judge her father on how he wants to spend his money because he earned them the hard way.
“Kasi ‘di ba, whatever he does with his life, it’s his prerogative. He has worked hard for everything, for his wealth. So whatever he wants to do with that, we don’t have any right to judge or to say something bad about it because it’s his money,” she said.

Vice recalls 2010 concert with Vhong in Island Cove
MANILA – Comedian Vice Ganda confirmed that he was with Vhong Navarro on the night April 24, 2010, the same date that former pageant contestant Roxanne Acosta Cabañero claimed she was raped by the “It’s Showtime” host somewhere in Pasig City.
In an interview with “Buzz ng Bayan” host Boy Abunda on Sunday, Vice Ganda said he was in Island Cove, a resort in Cavite, on that day almost four years ago for a concert with Navarro as one of his guests.
“Nung araw na nagpunta sila para mag-promote ng pageant [sa 'It's Showtime'], hindi ko na po 'yun naaalala. Nung nalaman ko 'yung date, ipinaalala ng mga tao na concert ko 'yun at guest ko sila Kean Cipriano and Vhong Navarro. Sa Cavite po ang leg ng concert ko na 'yun,” he said.
“Sigurado akong hindi nagsimula ng 8 p.m. 'yun. Mahaba ako mag-concert, hindi bumababa ng dalawang oras, usually tatlong oras talaga. Kung nagsisimula ng 9 p.m. maaaring matapos ako ng 12 midnight or baka mas mahaba pa,” he added.
According to Vice Ganda, he was accompanied by Navarro up until his final production number.
“Si Vhong siya lagi ang last guest ko kasi kumbaga, sa lahat ng mga guest ko, siya ang pinakasikat so siya ang last… Kasama ko din siya sa finale number,” he said.
According to Cabanero’s affidavit, she was with Navarro in his car at around midnight on that day.

Erap no comment about son Jake and Andi
MANILA – Former President and now Manila Mayor Joseph “Erap” Estrada has chosen to keep mum when asked to comment about the love life of his son, Jake Ejercito.
In an interview with “Buzz ng Bayan” aired on Sunday, Estrada briefly said “no comment” when asked if he is in favor of his son’s supposed relationship with actress Andi Eigenmann.
Estrada said his son is old enough to decide on what he thinks is best for him. “He can handle himself. He’s a very intelligent boy,” he said.
Estrada, however, admitted that he already met the “Galema” actress, who was spotted in one of Estrada’s sorties when he was campaigning in Manila.
The Manila mayor also said he will not meddle with Ejercito should he decide to settle down.
“Bahala siya. He’s old enough to decide for himself, for his future,” he said.
Ejercito is Estrada's son with former movie actress Laarni Enriquez.
In a previous interview, Estrada denied that he was against the relationship of Ejercito and Eigenmann. "Hindi totoo 'yon, never, never," he said.

Ai Ai not yet ready to be friends with Jed
MANILA – Ai Ai delas Alas doesn’t see herself being friends with estranged husband, businessman Jed Salang, at least in the next five to 10 years.
Speaking on “Buzz ng Bayan” on Sunday, delas Alas said she hasn’t talked to Salang after the court granted a protection order she sought against the businessman.
“Bawal sa aming mag-usap, bawal sa aming mag-text or anything. Siguro pagdating ng panahon. Siguro mga five years or 10 years from now, baka,” she said.
Delas Alas also confirmed that legal processes as regards to the annulment of their marriage are now underway.
“Yun inaayos na,” the Kapamilya comedienne briefly said.
Delas Alas previously filed a case against Salang for violation of the Anti-Violence against Women and Their Children Act of 2004 at the same court's Branch 94, where she also sought a permanent protection order against the businessman.
The charges stemmed from delas Alas' allegations during her controversial interview on "The Buzz" aired in May, wherein she claimed she was physically abused by Salang.
The estranged couple were married in a civil wedding on April 3 and separated on May 2.
Asked what she learned from her marriage with Salang, delas Alas said: “Not to be too trusting. Sabi ko siguro dapat move on. Hindi iko-close 'yung book but only turn the page.”
She did not discount the fact that she also had her shortcomings that led to the failure of their marriage.
“Kagaya ng parati kong pagkakamali, madali akong mag-react eh. Kunyari galit, maigsi ang pasensya ko. Tapos may nasasabi akong hindi maganda or masakit, hindi ko na mabawi. Ngayon, na-realize ko, kapag galit na galit ako, Jesus, Jesus mga 10 times. Kasi dadating ang time na kapag may sinabi ka sa kapwa mo at nasabi mo na, hindi mo na mababawi,” she explained.
New love?
Meanwhile, delas Alas clarified that there is nothing romantic going on between her and Lui Villaluz, after it was reported that delas Alas has a crush on the actor-businessman.
“Itong si Ogie Diaz, dinalaw ako sa taping. Hindi ko alam na vini-video niya ako. Tinanong niya kung type ko si Edward. Sabi ko hindi ko siya type kumpara kay Lui. Hindi ko kasi type 'yung hindi chinito or mukang Hapon or mukang Chinese. Doon nag-start kasi sabi ko siyempre mas type ko si Lui,” she said.
Delas Alas said she only went out with Villaluz once, and it was with the entire cast of “Wansapanataym.”
“Lumabas lang kami once kasama yung cast. First time naming lumabas and hanggang ngayon hindi pa kami lumalabas,” she said.

Sharon, Gabby have nothing against Paulo Avelino
MANILA – Sharon Cuneta and Gabby Concepcion have nothing against Paulo Avelino after the actor admitted that he is currently dating their daughter, actress KC Concepcion.
In two separate interviews with “Buzz ng Bayan” aired on Sunday, both said they are not going to intervene with their daughter’s love life as long as KC is happy.
“Ay ayoko makialam! Pero okay lang sa akin basta masaya si KC. 'Yun lang,” Cuneta said.
As for Gabby, he said: “Basta kung sino ang mamahalin mo, at mahal mo okay sa akin yun. Basta ang importante doon, naipapakita nila ang concern nila sa isa’t isa.”
Gabby added that he likes people who are respectful and kind.
“Binati niya ako. It doesn’t matter [kung nagpapalakas], ang importante magalang siyang tao. Gusto ko 'yung mga taong ganun, mabait, magalang and marunong rumespeto,” he said.
Following Avelino’s admission on national television two weeks ago, KC clarified on her Twitter account that she is not exclusively dating the actor.
“Hi. So... I am not dating anyone EXCLUSIVELY. At least not yet! Just wanted to clear the air! Goodnight, Philippines,” she said.
KC then posted another tweet after several minutes confirming that she is seeing the “Honesto” actor but is still single as of the moment.
“To those asking: Yes @mepauloavelino & I enjoy each others company, yes we spend time, but nothing serious right now! I am still single,” she said.
Avelino, on the other hand, said he did not intend to make it appear that he and KC are already serious with each other.
“Like what I’ve said in the interview, we’re dating. Dating with me is having dinner, talking -- nothing more than that,” he said.

Paulo Avelino confirms dating KC Concepcion
MANILA – Actor Paulo Avelino took viewers of "Buzz ng Bayan" by surprise when he revealed that he is currently dating actress KC Concepcion.
Although he was initially hesitant to open up about his private life, Avelino nonetheless confirmed on national television that he and Concepcion are friends and that he likes the actress.
“Yes [we are friends]. Yes [I like her], we are dating. I just want to keep things private,” he said in a sit-down interview with “Buzz ng Bayan” on Sunday.
Asked how long have they known each other, Avelino said: “Matagal na kaming magkakilala. First work ko here sa ABS, ‘MMK’ with her. That was two years ago.”
Because of his admission, Avelino topped the local trending topics of Twitter as netizens expressed their surprise with the actor's revelation.
The “Honesto” actor added that he did not get jealous when Concepcion went out on a group date with NBA cager Chandler Parsons.
“Me as a person, hindi rin talaga ako seloso. I try to think about things first before I really say anything or just bring it out,” he said.
Furthermore, Avelino noted that it was Concepcion herself who said that she and the American athlete are just friends.
“Nasabi naman niya yung totoo, [na they are friends] so wala naman siguro problema,” he said.
Son with LJ
Meanwhile, Avelino opened up about his son with former girlfriend, actress LJ Reyes.
It was only recently when Avelino confirmed in a press conference that he and Reyes have already ended up their relationship although they continue to remain friends for their son.
“I want to protect the privacy of my son. I want him to have a simple life, a normal life. Kapag may sarili na siyang isip and sabihin niya na gusto niyang mag-showbiz or magtanong siya, choice niya na rin iyon,” he said.
Avelino said he treasures being a father and that he spends all his free time with his son.
“Kapag wala po akong trabaho, I don’t really think of it as my responsibilities as a dad. Siyempre kapag mahal mo ang anak mo, ginagawa mo na lang iyon kasi gusto mo makita anak mo, gusto mo siya makitang masaya, gusto mo siyang turuan ng values,” he explained.
