Jasmine Curtis-Smith mum on 'romantic' ties with Sam Concepcion
MANILA, Philippines -- Did Jasmine Curtis-Smith and Sam Concepcion become a couple at one point?
At the sidelines of a press conference held Thursday for her beauty services endorsement, the 18-year-old actress was asked on her rumored relationship with the 20-year-old Kapamilya talent.
"We're friends, we hang out, we watch movies, ganoon. Hangout-hangout lang. We're good friends," said Curtis-Smith, who is the younger sister of "It's Showtime" host Anne Curtis.
Asked whether Concepcion is courting her, she said: "Tanungin niyo na lang siya."
Curtis-Smith kept mum, merely saying "basta," when reporters noted that rumors have surfaced that she and Concepcion were actually a couple for a time.
"Basta we know each other, we hang out, basta 'yun na 'yun. I'm not denying we're really good friends," she said. "Somewhat, yes, somewhat we're special."
According to Curtis-Smith, she is set to stay for good in the Philippines to continue her showbiz career, having finished high school in Australia. The young actress said she will live with her older sister, Anne, to "establish [her] footing."

Jelline still hopes to talk to Matt Evans
MANILA, Philippines – Johnelline Hickins, the former live-in partner of actor Matt Evans, is still hoping to communicate with the Kapamilya talent whom she had accused of hurting her.
In a report on “The Buzz” which aired last Sunday, Hickins reportedly even followed Evans’ mother to find out about the actor’s whereabouts so she can talk to him.
Citing a reliable source, the report said Evans is currently in an undisclosed location and has refused to reply to Hickins’ calls and text messages.
Evans was arrested last week and was jailed for almost two days after Hickins’ brother Juan Alberto Carlotta filed a complaint for slight physical injurym while Hickins accused him of violation of the Anti-Violence Against Women and Children Act.
Evans denied the accusations at a press conference last Tuesday.
Before the controversy of their alleged altercation erupted, Evans and Hickins had even been planning their marriage
In a taped interview on “The Buzz,” Evans again denied that he hurt Hickins as he recounted to host Boy Abunda the events on the evening of October 20 as well as the time he spent in prison.
“Hiyang hiya ako,” he told Abunda.
“Sa totoo lang galit ako noon pero nagmamakaawa ako dahil walang ka kwenta-kwenta ang pinagmulan,” he said of the times Hickins visited him in jail. “Habang kausap ko siya, mahal ko ‘yung taong ‘yon, pero iniisip ko siya ang dahilan kung bakit ako nandito.”
Evans also said that he remains committed to their baby but is no longer interested in reconciling with his former girlfriend.
“Sa tingin ko mapapagusapan pa, pero pagkatapos siguro ng pagaayos at paguusap, mas pipiliin ko na lang lumayo kami sa isa’t isa. Ayoko na,” he said. “Sugurado na ako kasi masasabi ko na sobra-sobra ‘yung pinaranas niya sa akin para bumalik pa ako.
“Kung para ho sa bata nandito ho ako palagi, pero kung para po sa amin, hindi na ho,” he told Abunda.
Evans also said he is not filing counter-charges against Hickins and Carlotta.
“Siguro Tito Boy dedepensahan ko na lang ang sarili ko. Lalaban na lang ako sa maayos na paraan,” he said.
Asked for his message to Hickins, Evans said: “Jelline, alam mo kung gaano kita minahal. I’m sorry kasi kinakailangang umabot tayo sa ganito, demandahan. Alam mong hindi kita sinuntok, hindi kita sinipa. Alam mong hindi kita kayang saktan.”
“The Buzz” said they tried to get the side of Hickins but that they refused to give any statement.

'Aryana' actor meets 'crush' Kathryn Bernardo
MANILA, Philippines - A newbie Kapamilya actor who has openly expressed his admiration for actress Kathryn Bernardo finally had the chance to meet the "Princess and I" star.
Bernardo made the confirmation to ABS-CBN News, saying that "Aryana" actor Dominic Roque introduced himself to her during a production number last week.
"Nagka-prod kami last week with 'Aryana,' with 'Be Careful With My Heart,' parang may isang cast prod tapos nag 'hi,' nagpakilala siya. Officially parang nagpakilala siya," Bernardo said.
As early as now, Bernardo said she is not open to the idea of entertaining Roque as a suitor should he decide to court her.
"Dumaan muna siya kay Mama," said the 16-year-old actress, who stressed that work is currently her top priority.
During a guest appearance on "Kris TV" last August, Bernardo denied that Roque is courting her.
"Hindi talaga, hindi po. Hindi pa nga kami formally nagkakakilala," she said.
Currently, Bernardo is busy taping for her hit series "Princess and I" with Daniel Padilla, who is also being romantically linked to her.

Gerald Anderson sheds 15 pounds
MANILA, Philippines – Prized Kapamilya talent Gerald Anderson has lost weight in preparation for his role in “Budoy.”
“Siyempre kailangan po bagong itsura, of course," Anderson was quoted as saying in an Aug. 17 report by abs-cbnnews.com.
In a separate story on “Showbiz News Ngayon” Aug. 11, Anderson elaborated, “Pumayat kasi ako for bagong soap na gagawin ko, 'Budoy.' Kinakailangan kong mag-lose ng at least 10 pounds daw. Transformation siya talaga.”
The actor, whose weight dropped from 185 to 170 pounds, said in the same abs-cbnnews.com article that he achieved this through strict “diet, exercise, cardio.”
More, Anderson revealed that he lost weight also for health reasons.
“Oh yes, overweight [na ako]. Actually sabay kami ni Sam [Milby], galing kaming States, kain kami nang kain doon. When I got back, doon nag-start na akong mag-research, mag-diet at mag-exercise.
“So I'm happy sa weight ko ngayon, mas magaan, mas fit,” he told abs-cbnnews.com.
Anderson is set to star in ABS-CBN’s forthcoming primetime teleserye, “Budoy,” with Jessy Mendiola, Zsa Zsa Padilla, Janice de Belen and Mylene Dizon. A report by abs-cbnnews.com last June described “Budoy” as “an ‘advocacy-serye’ about mentally-challenged people.”
In his own words, Anderson described Budoy as a “20- to 22-year-old man [pero] ang isip niya is 10 years old.”
“Ang makikita niyo doon, ang journey ng buhay niya. 'Yung sino ba talaga ang pamilya niya at saan siya manggagaling, bakit siya ayaw tanggapin ng mga tao eh araw-araw ang ginagawa niya lang ay mag-smile sa tao at tinutulungan niya ang tao, tapos di siya tinatanggap. Isang mali lang parang napakalaki na ng ginawa niya,” he was quoted as saying in the Aug. 17 abs-cbnnews.com story.
