Michael Pangilinan, ex-GF expect baby boy

MANILA -- Michael Pangilinan, one of the celebrity contestants on the second season of the hit show "Your Face Sounds Familiar," and his and former girlfriend are expecting a baby boy.

The Harana singer made the announcement on "Kris TV" on Tuesday.

"Eight months na at ayon, okay naman," Pangilinan told "Kris TV" host Kris Aquino.

Pangilinan, who remains friends with the mother of his child, promised to financially support his son.

"Actually sinabi ko lahat -- 'yung pagpapanganak, pagkain, damit, gatas," said Pangilinan, 19, who admitted that he is going to be a father last September.

Why Pokwang doesn't want a 'dream wedding'

MANILA - Comedienne Pokwang, who is in a relationship with American actor Lee O'Brien, said she does not want to have a "dream wedding."

In an interview after the press conference for her movie, "Wang Fam", Pokwang said she does not mind having a simple celebration, stressing that she only wants to stay happy with her boyfriend.

"Walang dream, walang dream wedding. Sabi ko nga, kahit sa karinderya lang, basta masaya kami at natupad 'yung pangarap, 'yun," she said.

For now, Pokwang said she is looking forward to meeting O'Brien's parents in January.

"Excited, siyempre. Inglisan na naman ito," she said, adding, "Tinatanong ko kung anong paborito nilang pagkain, gustong puntahan, etc."

"Mukhang mabait naman ang magulang niya. Grabe silang magmahalan, nag-iisa lang kasi siyang anak kaya ganoon sila," she said of her boyfriend's parents.

In a previous interview on "Kris TV", O'Brien said he plans to stay in the Philippines for good to live with Pokwang.


But before that, he said that he will go back to the United States in December.

"It's more to like tidy up my stuff, my life there, to be able to move out here," O'Brien said.

O'Brien was Pokwang's leading man in the 2014 movie "Edsa Woolworth." They officially became a couple early this year.

KC Concepcion admits dating foreigner

MANILA – Months after her much-publicized breakup with Paulo Avelino, KC Concepcion admitted that she is back in the dating scene.

Speaking on “Kris TV” which she co-hosted on Monday morning, Concepcion revealed that she is now seeing a non-showbiz guy but refused to disclose details about him.

The actress, however, revealed that the guy is not a Filipino.

“Yes, I’m dating. Quietly lang. European. Ayaw kong maudlot. Next [guesting na lang],” she said. “He’s European. He lives in the Middle East, pero [back and forth siya].”

After her very public relationships in the past, Concepcion explained that she now prefers a non-showbiz guy.

“Tumingin sa akin si Erich (Gonzales) kanina, sabi niya, ‘Non-showbiz na lang, maganda no?’ Sabi ko oo, for me. Kasi I’ve dated na my leading men, I’ve done that whole thing na. Tinutuluy-tuloy ko, after ng shoot na nagiging kami. So sabi ko na-experience ko na 'yung dating leading men, so maganda 'yung [non-showbiz],” she said.

Asked if they are exclusively dating, she said: “I’m dating but not exclusively kasi bago pa lang. Ayaw ko pangunahan.”

Concepcion also revealed that the guy is more than five years older than her.

“He’s hard-working and older… Pero wala din naman sa age. It’s yung pagkatao talaga. Kaya nga I don’t want na porke’t may dine-date, kami na agad. You never know. You have to really give it time. Sabi nila, eight months to one year tapos saka mo pa lang makikita ang totoong kulay ng tao,” she said.

Kakai to make history with first concert, 'The Dental Diva'

MANILA - Comedienne-singer Kakai Bautista will stage her first solo concert this year.

In her guesting on "KrisTV" aired on Friday, Bautista said she will have a concert dubbed "#KAKAiba The Dental Diva In Concert" on September 16 at Music Museum in San Juan City.

"Sa unang pagkakataon po magkakaroon po ako ng solo concert sa September 16 sa Music Museum, The Dental Diva In Concert," Bautista said.

Bautista, who recently made headlines for her rendition of Jessie J's "Flashlight," is part of the hit musical "Rak of Aegis."

The musical will run until August 16 at PETA Theater.

Bautista is also preparing for a series of shows abroad.

Kris Aquino's food finds: 'Super duper sarap' Cebu lechon

"Super duper duper sarap." These are the words that Kris Aquino used to describe the lechon sold at a restaurant in Cebu City.

On Monday's episode of "Kris TV," Aquino and her celebrity co-hosts, Erich Gonzales and Daniel Matsunaga, visited Rico's Lechon at Acacia Street in Cebu City.

Aquino said she has been convincing the owner of Rico's to bring the restaurant to Manila.

What to expect from Kris-Herbert movie

MANILA -- Actress Kris Aquino confirmed that her son, James "Bimby" Yap Jr., will be part of her upcoming movie with former boyfriend, Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista.

On her morning show "Kris TV" on Monday, Aquino also shared some details of the still-untitled movie, which will be directed by Antoinette Jadaone, who helmed the box-office hit "That Thing Called Tadhana."

The movie, which was announced last Friday by producer Star Cinema, follows two friends as they cross paths again 20 years later, now with their respective children but without partners.

According to Aquino, Bautista's character has two children, while her character has one, to be portrayed by Bimby.

Janna Domingo, the lead child star of recently concluded series "Dream Dad," will play one of Bautista's kids in the movie.

"Mayroon pa siyang older daughter na inaayos pa ang schedule. Pero 'yung older daughter na pinipili ay magaling kumanta talaga, tapos mayroon siyang dalawang ka-love team na parehong kumakanta din. Gusto natin ng may kumakanta," Aquino said on "Kris TV."

Aquino also said the shooting schedule will be spread out from July to November.

"Ito ang klarong schedule: three days in July, six days in August dahil maraming activities sa August then the rest of the days spread out sa October up to mid-November for a total of -- fingers crossed -- 35 actual shooting days lang," Aquino said.

MANILA - The best calamares Kris Aquino has ever tasted is the one being served at Laguna's Isdaan, the television host claimed on Friday.

WATCH: Bimby reacts to Kris' swimsuit photo

MANILA – It seems that Kris Aquino did not tell her youngest son that she will be showing off her summer-ready body in a photo shoot for an entertainment magazine.

In the Wednesday episode of “Kris TV,” eight-year-old Bimby asked Aquino why she had to wear a bathing suit in the pictorial.

To which, his mother answered: “Last na nga 'yun. Bimb because they are showcasing the best of the Philippines. So how can I be in Coron and not wear a bathing suit?”

Aquino then told Bimby that she considers it an honor “to be on the cover of the 15th anniversary of the most beautiful.”

“Bimb naman ‘di ba, ma-proud ka naman sa mama mo. You’re not proud that you have a beautiful mama?” she asked.

But Bimby’s reply surprised Aquino.

“I am proud [but] it’s gross, showing off,” he said. “Moms should not wear bathing suits.”

Aquino then reasoned with Bimby by citing Hollywood stars like Jennifer Lopez, Heidi Klum and Jessica Alba, who already have kids but still wear swimsuits.

Bimby, however, was firm in saying he didn’t like Aquino’s pictures.

“I don’t want you to be in a bathing suit. I don’t want guys to say you’re hot,” he said.

Apparently, Bimby saw Aquino’s pictures through the TV host’s Instagram page.

Last week, Aquino shared in the image-sharing site some of the outtakes from the photo shoot which will appear in Yes! Magazine.

In one of the captions, Aquino said she had fun doing the pictorial while also appreciating the “beauty and majesty” of the Philippines.

6 tips to look good in selfies

MANILA - Are you a fan of taking selfies? In-demand lensman Mark Nicdao has a few tips on taking quality self-portraits that will present you in literally the best light.

On "Kris TV," Nicdao coaches host Kris Aquino on things to consider when taking selfies. These include adequate lighting.

"Kung saan may pinakamalakas na ilaw... Halimbawa, window lighting pag nasa bahay ka. Tapat ka lang sa ilaw," he said.



The best natural lighting for taking selfies, Nicdao added, is around 7 a.m. or 5 p.m. He called this the "magic hour."

If you're taking a selfie with someone or a group, Nicdao advised to have the person with the longest arm or reach hold the camera. This will make you appear farther from the lens.

Nicdao also had tips to look more slim in your selfies.

If with a group, stay behind your friend. You can also extend your chin to avoid the appearance of a "double chin." For women or men with long hair, you may also opt to place your hair on the sides of your face.

Before you take a mirror selfie, Nicdao advised to study your best angle.

Agreeing with Nicdao's tips, Aquino added: "Normally naman, hindi mag-se-selfie pag malungkot ka, eh. Ang ma-si-share mong selfie, happy ka, so you're sharing good times with people... In taking a selfie, you have to feel beautiful."

How Julia Montes lost weight

MANILA - Actress Julia Montes admitted that she once tried crash dieting to lose weight. However, she has since realized that the key to a fit and healthy body is to eat the right food.

Appearing on "Kris TV" on Thursday, Montes even said she doesn't even work out.

"Siguro nag-work sa akin kasi hindi ko na siya kina-crash diet. Then hindi na napi-pressure 'yung body ko na 'naku kailangan bawas' or minsan kakain, din babawi, hindi kakain, then babawi. May ganoong factor before," Montes said.

"Ngayon nagra-rice ako at nagluluto ako. Ang tambayan ko na nga eh kitchen," says Montes, who is now into baking.

Montes said that as an actress she was affected by comments about her weight, especially since she has chubby cheeks.

"Siguro natatakot 'yung ibang kasama ko na baka daw magpakagutom na ako. Kasi before umaabot ako sa point na ang daming humuhusga sa cheeks ko, sa katawan ko, then sabi ko hindi ko talaga matatanggal 'yung hilig ko po talaga sa food," said Montes, who is hoping to take culinary studies someday.

Montes is now promoting her film "Halik Sa Hangin," which is already showing in cinemas nationwide.

Angeline Quinto jealous of K-La Rivera?

MANILA – Erik Santos revealed that his rumored girlfriend, singer Angeline Quinto, got jealous of K-La Rivera when he invited her to his birthday celebration last year.

The two female singers were both finalists on the ABS-CBN reality talent show “Star Power,” where Quinto emerged victorious. The show, which aired in 2010, was co-hosted by Santos along with Sharon Cuneta and Christian Bautista.

Speaking on “Kris TV” where both of them were guests on Tuesday, Santos shared that Quinto did not talk to him for days because of the incident.

“Grabe pala magtampo ‘to, one week. Kasi nag-party ako, in-invite ko 'yung mga close friends ko. Hindi siya naka-attend kasi may shooting yata siya or taping. In-invite ko lahat ng close friends ko. Meron akong na-invite na hindi niya type na nandoon,” he said.

Although he did not mention Rivera initially, host Kris Aquino urged Santos to reveal who he was referring to. He then confirmed that it was Rivera, with whom he reportedly had a crush on in the past.

Speaking in her defense, Quinto said: “Hindi naman po sa hindi type. Hindi ko naman kasi alam na nandoon.”

“May nag-send po sa akin ng picture nila. Sobra po [silang sweet]. Nung na-receive ko po ‘yung picture na ’yun, out of town ako. Sinend ko sa kanya ‘yung picture. Tapos sabi ko, ‘Ang sweet niyo naman.’ Medyo magkayakap na ng kaunti,” she recalled.

Asked how he wooed Quinto after she got jealous, Santos said: “Every day tinetext ko siya kahit hindi sumsagot, hindi ko siya tinitigilan. Pumunta kami sa US, hindi kami magkatabi sa bus.”

According to Quinto, it was only during Santos’ actual birthday when she decided to patch things up with the singer.

“Kasi nakunsensya din ako noon. So nung araw na birthday niya sa US, ako 'yung nagbigay ng cake sa kanya. Sinabihan ko 'yung mga kasama ko na, ‘Birthday na ni Erik ngayon sa Pilipinas, kantahan naman natin siya,’” she said.

Santos, for his part, shared that Quinto’s gesture brought him to tears. “Naiyak ako kasi pinansin na niya ako. Kasi ang hirap na one week kang hindi pinapansin.”

Kathryn's mom confronted Daniel over 'audio scandal'

MANILA -- Min Bernardo, the mother of teen star Kathryn Bernardo, admitted that she lectured Daniel Padilla over the actor's controversial "audio scandal."

"Of course naman, " Mrs. Bernardo said in an interview on "Kris TV" which aired on Thursday. "Pinagsabihan ko siya. Kasi nga sabi nila 'Tita Min, ikaw na bahala diyan, sa iyo nakikinig 'yan.' Which is true naman sa akin siya nakikinig. Without Kathryn's ano, nag-date kami ni DJ."



"Kinausap ko siya, kasi kailangan sabihin niya sa akin 'yung totoo kung ano ba talaga. Nakita ko 'yung side niya. Nakita ko naman sincere siya. Siyempre (may) konting parangal," she said.

Mrs. Bernardo said what she likes about Padilla is that the teen actor knows how to listen.

In previous interview, Padilla's mother admitted that she was the first to talk to Kathryn about the so-called "audio scandal."

Padilla had confirmed that it was his voice on an audio recording circulating online, that caught him saying that he was excited about having received a text message from Jasmine Curtis-Smith.

Kissing at the airport 

In the interview on "Kris TV," Mrs. Bernardo also clarified rumors that Padilla and her daughter were photographed kissing at an airport after their show in Canada.

"Kasi mali 'yung shot na ginawa. Magkaharap silang ganyan (ni Daniel at Kathryn), tapos na sa back 'yung shot. So, akala nila ay nagki-kiss pero hindi. Nanggigigil kasi si (Daniel) sa face kasi tumaba siya (Kathryn)," the teen actress's mother said.

Why Kris allowed son Joshua to get Botox

MANILA -- Although Botox is usually given to older patients who want to get rid of signs of aging like wrinkles, actress-host Kris Aquino admitted on Wednesday that her eldest son Joshua got injections of the drug.

Botox is a drug commonly used cosmetically to remove wrinkles by temporarily paralyzing facial muscles.

But in the case of Aquino's 19-year-old son with veteran actor Philip Salvador, the Botox injections were for his armpits as this reportedly helps control excessive sweating.



"Oh my God, nagwo-work talaga 'yung Botox sa kili-kili kay Josh. It really stopped," Aquino told her guest co-hosts KC Concepcion and Karla Estrada on her morning show "Kris TV "aired on Wednesday.

According to the actress-host, it was her "The Buzz" co-host Toni Gonzaga who told her about this little-known effect of Botox.

"And it really helped Josh dati ang dami niyang sweat stains," Aquino said. "Now his kili-kilio is not pawis-pawis anymore."

According to celebrity dermatologist Dr. Vicki Belo, injecting Botox in the armpits can stop sweating and also whiten the area.




Botox of the armpit is a short procedure and only uses cream anesthesia for zero pain. The procedure takes one hour, while the effects of the procedure last for six months.

"The Botox stops the sweat glands from secreting the sweat by paralyzing temporarily the muscles around the sweat glands that causes the sweat glands to be squeeze and release the perspiration," Belo explained.

Anne Curtis shares diet secrets

MANILA – Kapamilya star Anne Curtis, considered one of the country’s sexiest actresses today, shared some of her diet secrets in a television interview aired Tuesday.

On the ABS-CBN show “Kris TV”, Curtis told host Kris Aquino that she makes it a point to eat small, light meals every day.

“Except when I’m cheating,” she said, smiling.

Curtis admitted that going on a strict diet is quite a challenge especially because her boyfriend is Erwan Heussaff, a cook and restaurateur. Still, the actress said she manages to go through the day with healthy dishes in small portions.


Curtis said she usually eats an omelet or a bowl of oatmeal for breakfast, a salad and anything grilled for lunch, and another serving of salad for dinner.

“Salad lang with basic vinaigrette,” she said when asked about the contents of her meal. “Greens lang. Or if ever, I’ll add fish.”

Kylie Padilla to take it slow with Rayver

MANILA - Actress Kylie Padilla, the daughter of action star Robin Padilla, prefers to take it slow before entering a possible relationship with Kapamilya actor Rayver Cruz.

"We talked about it po," Padilla told Kris Aquino on her morning show "Kris TV" on Monday. "I think we should focus more on career. I think it's the smart thing to do is to appreciate the blessings first."

Kylie admitted that she's not rushing things when it comes to getting into another relationship, stressing that she really learned a lot from her three-year relationship with actor Aljur Abrenica.

"One of the lessons I learned po from the relationship is to appreciate the blessings muna habang nandiyan. And work first. Ganoon din si Rayver," Padilla said.

But Padilla stressed that she has moved on from her break up with Abrenica last March.

She also admitted that it was the actor who initiated the breakup. "Ayaw kong magalit. Wala po 'yang naidudulot na maganda," she said.

Kris Aquino buys Chowking franchise

MANILA -- She may be among the country's top celebrity endorsers and a hard-working TV talent, hosting the morning show "Kris TV" five days a week, on top of her duties on "The Buzz" and "Aquino & Abunda Tonight."

But actress-host Kris Aquino is still working to ensure the future of sons Joshua Aquino and James "Bimby" Yap Jr.

In her official Instagram account, Aquino revealed that she has decided to buy a franchise of Chowking.



"Future plans' dream about to be fulfilled! I have always believed that with good food from a respected Filipino company, I couldn't go wrong," she wrote in the caption.

Apart from becoming a franchisee, Aquino is also an endorser for the Chinese fast-food chain owned by Jollibee Foods Corp.

She expects to open her restaurant before the end of the year, although it wasn't clear from her post where her Chowking restaurant will be located.

"In getting to know their products, their setup, their 400+ branches and their marketing, I became convinced that it's a good long term investment for my sons and me," she explained.

Aquino said she is current fixing her schedule so she can go on an "immersion" for new store owners.

Kris gets ready for first date with new suitor

MANILA -- After going out with Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista, it seems host-actress Kris Aquino is ready to return to the dating scene.

Confirming that she is entertaining a new suitor, Aquino gave the initials of her new suitor in her Instagram account.

"Thank You AG for the effort & thoughtfulness," she wrote, adding the hashtag "kiligmonday."




On her morning show "Kris TV" on Monday, Aquino asked the man to be patient, as they set their first date on Wednesday.


She also dedicated the ballad "All I Need" to him.

"Itong song na ito, super favorite ko talaga. Kasi sa lahat ng tao na nandoon pa lang sa process na gumiginhawa na ulit ang puso, eh tama ito," she said.

Kris urges James to exert more effort with Bimby

MANILA -- After supposedly ending her rift with ex-husband James Yap, Kris Aquino again took a swipe at the basketball star, saying she wished he would exert more effort to bond with their son, James "Bimby" Yap Jr.

The host-actress made the statement after seeing Bimby swimming and playing with model-actor Daniel Matsunaga during their Palawan trip for her morning show "Kris TV."

"Naawa ako kaya dapat um-effort si James," Aquino said on the show's Tuesday episode. "Naghahanap talaga si Bimb ng masculine companionship, playmate."






"I hope ang magkaroon ng realization 'yung father ni Bimb na mag-exert siya ng effort na gawin 'yon, kasi 'yun 'yung one thing na hindi ko talaga kaya. No matter how much I love my sons, that's one thing, 'yung harutan na panglalaki well it's not in my capacity," she said.

"So sana 'yung every day na pagkikita nila, sana um-exert ng effort kasi hindi mo maibabalik ang time na ito, so they will have happy memory together or kung hindi man maganap 'yon, may God bless me with a partner who would be willing to do that. In God's time," she added.

Aquino then thanked Matsunaga for taking the time to play with the six-year-old boy.

"Super nagpapasalamat ako kay Dan kasi super mabait siyang nilalang, hindi ba? Lahat naman tayo na feel natin sa lahat ng nakasama natin hindi niya feel na gwapo siya. Marunong makisama and child-like siya talaga, mayroon siyang openness," Aquino said of the Brazilian-Japanese model-turned-actor.

Matsunaga was once romantically linked to Aquino but both have denied this.
