Maine Mendoza turns into fan girl over Piolo

MANILA – Maine Mendoza turned into a fan girl when she personally met actor Piolo Pascual.

Mendoza and Pascual were in the same event over the weekend as endorsers for a company.

In a video uploaded by a netizen on Instagram, Mendoza can be seen getting "kilig" while talking to Pascual.

She was also caught on video saying a cute “I love you” to Pascual as the actor greets other people inside the room.

Pascual is one of the homegrown talents of ABS-CBN, while Mendoza is identified with rival network GMA-7.

Piolo regrets taking shirt off in viral video

MANILA - Kapamilya star Piolo Pascual said he regretted taking his shirt off for a Facebook Live video by television host Luis Manzano, calling the clip "too uncensored" and vowed to be more wary when it comes to his future online antics.

"Hindi ko alam na ganoon pala ang Facebook Live," Pascual said about the video, which went viral on social media mid-September.

The original clip has since been taken down, although it was re-uploaded on several Facebook pages.

"I learned my lesson. I guess I was too uncensored kasi he did it sa dressing room namin. Okay lang, charge it to experience. Iyong mga ganoon, when it gets uploaded, hindi mo na maaalis sa YouTube," he added.

In the viral video, Pascual, at one point, took his shirt off in the background while the "Minute To Win It" host talked to his followers. "Wala na naghubad na," quipped Manzano.

Some social media users called Pascual's actions "scandalous" which prompted the press to ask the actor for his reaction.

Piolo speaks up on viral photo with son Inigo

MANILA – Piolo Pascual shrugged off malicious comments after a photo of his son Inigo embracing him while sleeping made the rounds online.

The photo was originally shared by Piolo’s long-time personal assistant Moi on her Instagram page three days ago.

In an interview with entertainment site PEP, Piolo said he does not think there is a need for him to address the comments.

“Kumbaga hindi ko na pinagtakahan 'yun. 'Yun talaga 'yung nature ng tao eh, mapagmasama, 'yung mapagduda,” he said,

Piolo added that his detractors could say whatever they want.

“My son didn’t see me for two months, you know, so ganun kami. Ganun kami ka-affectionate sa isa’t isa, so mainggit na lang sila, di ba?” he said.

Having been in showbiz for over a decade now, Piolo said he is already used to people making up stories.

“Sa tagal ko ba naman sa industriya, papatol pa ba tayo? Ipinagkibit-balikat na lang 'yun at mas maraming may kuwentang gawin sa buhay kaysa pumatol,” he said.

Charo, Piolo make historic Filipino firsts in iEmmys

NEW YORK -- New York is home to some of the Philippines' best. From Broadway to Wall Street, the "galing ng Pilipino" or the innate greatness of the Filipino shines brightly in the Big Apple.

For instance, the “Philippine Gold: Treasures of Forgotten Kingdoms” exhibit at Asia Society is a testament to the Filipino's greatness that dates back to the 10th century.

Two of the exhibit's recent visitors are making historic Filipino firsts in this year's International Emmy Awards in New York.

ABS-CBN president and CEO Charo Santos-Concio will be the first Filipino to chair the 43rd International Emmys Awards Gala on Monday night, while award-winning Kapamilya star Piolo Pascual will be the first Filipino presenter at the iEmmys.

"I'm very very proud to represent my company ABS-CBN, and I'm very, very proud also that I am Filipino and I'm here to represent our country," Santos-Concio said.

"Pride, honor, you know being in the business I love and having this kind of gift is a reward," Pascual said.

At the HBO welcome cocktails Sunday, International Emmy Awards president Bruce Paisner said Santos-Concio's appointment as this year's chair was a clear-cut choice because the academy recognizes not only the excellent TV programs and actors from the Philippines but also the outstanding achievements of ABS-CBN under her watch.

"You have to be really somebody who is a person of importance in their country, in their organization as well. We think that Charo is wonderful chairman for us," Paisner said.

As chair, Santos-Concio will open the International Emmy Awards Gala at the New York Hilton with a welcome speech, while Pascual will present a telenovela award near the latter part of the awards show.

"Part of the mission of ABS-CBN is to make sure that we share stories of Filipino strength and resilience and I think it should go beyond the Philippines. Our content should reach the international shores. I hope to be able to bring that to the consciousness of the international community here at the iEmmys," Santos-Concio said.

Pascual is no stranger to the iEmmys: his teleserye "Lobo” (She Wolf: The Last Sentinel) with Angel Locsin, was nominated in the 37th International Emmys.

"I just hope it opens doors for other showbiz people to be able to penetrate the international scene," Pascual said.

Pascual will join other celebrity presenters such as Academy Award winner Michael Douglas and "Star Trek" veteran actor George Takei.

LOOK: Sharon reconciles with Piolo

MANILA - All's well that ends well.

Sharon Cuneta on Thursday night took to Facebook to share her feelings about her reconciliation with Piolo Pascual, whom she had a shaky relationship after the actor broke up with her daughter KC Concepcion.

"I was in my wheelchair amongst friends and I didn't see him (Pascual) coming," wrote Cuneta. "He hugged me tight and when I looked at his face, I hugged him back so tight."

The 49-year-old Cuneta, who has admitted to have said words against Pascual, went on to describe him as someone she had hurt and a "son" that she will continue to love.

"I know your apology was sincere. Please know that mine was, too. I think of your mama and feel very badly about how she must have felt, because she too, is a mother like me," she continued.

"I am sorry that you and my baby had to end your relationship, and I am sorry for how very publicly I made my emotions known."

"For what it's worth, I was not that kind of person. Was not, am not, and hopefully never will be. I believe you know that in your heart," she added.

Cuneta concluded the note by uploading a photo of her and Pascual -- one wherein the two shared an embrace and another where she gave the actor a kiss on his cheek.

"Thank you, Lord Jesus for forgiveness, restored friendships, and love. Most of all, thank you that my Kristina (Concepcion) is fine now and happy. And thank you, dear Piolo, that I can still call you my son no matter what. God bless you. Love you!"

Why Piolo Pascual wants to get married abroad

MANILA -- If ever he decides to tie the knot, actor Piolo Pascual wants to get married abroad.

But that won't be happening in the near future since Pascual vowed to remain unattached until his son Inigo turns 18 next year.

In a press conference on Monday for his Sunpiology Fun Run on November 15 at the Bonifacio Global City, Pascual admitted that he is also excited to enter into a new relationship.

"I just don't want it public. Parang for me, my life has been so public all my life, more than half of my life if. and when that happens parang magiging selfish muna ako at sasarilinin ko muna yon. Pero lalabas at lalabas makikita at makikita muna," Pascual explained.

"Siguro parang even when I get married mas gusto kong ikasal sa ibang bansa. I think I owe it to myself," the "Hawak Kamay" star added.

For now, Pascual said he is keeping his words to his son.

Asked to comment on Inigo's statement that he won't meddle in his father's personal life, Pascual said: "Aba dapat. Siyempre at the end of the day I'm still his my father. It's still my choice. Ang agreement naman namin when he's 18 pwede na. I kinda broke his heart before because I promised him something and I didn't do it. So after that, I said I'm keeping my word up until your 18. That's the only time I'll get into a relationship so I'm keeping my word. So, whoever I choose when the time comes nasa akin na 'yon. Hindi naman siya ang makikisama."

WATCH: Piolo, son Inigo in YouTube vlog

MANILA - In a rare moment, Piolo Pascual's son Iñigo shared the screen with the showbiz heartthrob -- not in a movie or TV show, but via a video blog posted on the 16-year-old's YouTube page.

In the nearly two-minute video published last Friday, Iñigo introduces his dad as a "big movie star in the Philippines." The two proceed to talk about Iñigo's dream of also making it to showbiz.

Piolo, 37, advises Iñigo to finish his studies first, however. He goes on to "lecture" his son about not relying entirely on an acting career for financial stability, stressing the importance of investing and saving.

Although no brand is mentioned in the video, Piolo is known to be an endorser of a life insurance company in the Philippines.

On his Instagram page, Iñigo shared a behind-the-scenes photo of him with his dad at what appears to be the same living room set in the video.

Piolo, on his own account, captioned the same photo: "And finally it's happening... Sooner than I expected... Hehe.. Playing support to @iminigopascual #proudpop"

Iñigo, who is based in California with his mother, has expressed interest in following his dad's footsteps. In earlier interviews, Piolo said that while he is open to his son joining showbiz, he will only allow him to go full-time once he turns 18.

Other videos on Iñigo's YouTube page show him performing covers of popular songs, including One Direction's "Little Things."

The account also has several other personal vlogs. In one entry, Iñigo talks about his first rehearsal day for a production of the musical "Hairspray."

Piolo names most challenging role

MANILA -- With a career spanning two decades, Piolo Pascual has taken on countless characters onscreen, but he considers his role in real-life -- being a matinee idol -- as his most challenging.

In the June 2014 issue of lifestyle magazine HOLA! Philippines, the 37-year-old actor opens up about the highs and lows of his career and personal life, including his recent pronouncement of his intentions to retire soon.

"I was hoping to be married before I turn 40," he says. "[But] some of my fans cried when they heard I was quitting. It sounds cliché, but they truly are my inspiration."

Pascual's 20-year career -- as a TV and film actor, singer, and product endorser -- is detailed in a seven-page report in the latest issue of HOLA! Philippines.

Also featured in the issue are Vice President Jejomar Binay, businessman Fernando Zobel de Ayala, and self-made billionaire Joseph Calata.

The Men's Issue turns the spotlight on international and local "men of the moment," including TV hosts Kim Atienza and Paolo Abrera, restaurateur Erwan Heussaff, singer Christian Bautista, model Troy Montero, and athlete Armand del Rosario.

Piolo, Gerald to co-host sports show

MANILA - "On the Job" stars Piolo Pascual and Gerald Anderson are set to reunite onscreen, this time as co-hosts of a sports-advocacy show that aims to help young athletes reach their full potential.

"Team U," which will start airing Sundays on ABS-CBN Sports+Action in June, will tour several public schools to improve their respective sports programs, according to Pascual.

"Iikot-ikot po kami sa public schools and we're going to tap the young athletes who have potential to become better at what they do through their coaches," Pascual told ABS-CBN News.

"[We will help] update the sports program, their training courses, and from there, help them realize their maximum potential as an athlete."

For its first season, "Team U" will visit four schools in Manila, General Santos City, and Cebu, according to Pascual.

Joining him and Anderson in the show as mentors are volleyball player Gretchen Ho, football players Anton and Armand del Rosario, and basketball player Marco Benitez.

"Team U" will also feature a behind-the-scenes look at preparations of Filipino athletes who compete internationally, Anderson said.

"Ang alam lang natin, lalo na 'yung mga nag-sa-shine sa ibang bansa, 'yung nagbibigay ng karalan sa bansa natin, alam natin na magaling sila," he said. "Pero hindi natin alam kung ano 'yung pinagdadaanan nila, kung ano 'yung mga sacrifices, 'yung dedication na kailangan nila ibigay. Dito sa show na 'to, doon namin ipapakita."

Pascual added: "We're doing this for the young athletes of this generation. We want to give them a chance na ma-reach 'yung potential nila sa sport kung saan sila magaling. We want to champion these kids and give them a better future."

Why Piolo Pascual won't play gay roles

MANILA -- While several actors have recently scored hits by playing gay roles whether in movies or on TV, actor Piolo Pascual is not about to jump on the bandwagon.

"Siguro hindi naman ako tanga para ilagay ang sarili ko sa sitwasyon na pagtatawanan ako at pag-iisipan ako ng hindi maganda," Pascual said during a press conference for his Sunpiology Fun Run, which will happen this November 23 at the Bonifacio Global City.MANILA -- While several actors have recently scored hits by playing gay roles whether in movies or on TV, actor Piolo Pascual is not about to jump on the bandwagon.

"Siguro hindi naman ako tanga para ilagay ang sarili ko sa sitwasyon na pagtatawanan ako at pag-iisipan ako ng hindi maganda," Pascual said during a press conference for his Sunpiology Fun Run, which will happen this November 23 at the Bonifacio Global City.

"I'd rather choose what I can do para hindi ko na kailangan ng isa pang intriga para sumikat pa," he added.

Pascual had admitted of being traumatized by the backlash he received after his breakup with actress KC Concepcion two years ago, which sparked questions about the actor's sexual preference.

Pascual said he will now be more choosy when it comes to accepting projects, especially after his critically acclaimed movie "On The Job."

The award-winning actor is now finishing his latest movie, where he is paired with actress-host Toni Gonzaga, under the direction of Olivia Lamasan

"Gusto ko piliin 'yung mga trabaho na tatanggapin ko. Actually nagtaka nga ako, 'yung movie with Toni (Gonzaga) ayaw ko na kasing gumawa ng romcom (romantic-comedy) pero this one naman kasi romantic drama. And how can you say no to direk Olive Lamasan and Toni Gonzaga?" he said.

Pascual acknowledged that Star Cinema is known for producing successful romantic-comedies, such as the box-office hit, "It Takes A Man and a Woman," with John Lloyd Cruz and Sarah Geromimo.

But for his film with Gonzaga, he noted that they are trying "to innovate with the execution," citing, for instance, playing around with different camera angles.

"I'm thankful because at my age, Star Cinema is giving me projects na masasabi kong mainstream at nakaka-partner ko pa si Toni," said Pascual, who is already 36.

"I'd rather choose what I can do para hindi ko na kailangan ng isa pang intriga para sumikat pa," he added.

Why Piolo Pascual won't settle down yet

MANILA -- Piolo Pascual brought up a "promise" he made to his son, Iñigo, in explaining why he has opted not to settle down yet at 36.

The actor, dubbed the country's "Ultimate Heartthrob," said he intends to devote his attention to his only child with his former non-showbiz partner until he comes of age.

"Of course. Gusto ko po sana bago ako mag-40," Pascual said an interview on "Showbiz Inside Report" aired Saturday, when asked whether he still hopes to start a new family.

"[Although] I'm at an age na pwede na, not a lot of people know na I promised my son, when he's 18, that's the only time na magko-concentrate ako sa magiging future ko with a family," he said.

Iñigo, who is based in California with his mother, is turning 16 on September 14. "So I'm giving myself four years [to settle down]," Pascual said. "I'm 36. I'm not getting any younger."

Asked how he feels about being a single dad, Pascual said, "Okay naman. Minsan hindi pa rin ako makapaniwala na mayroon akong anak na 16 anyos."

"Kasi feeling ko, parang binata pa naman ako. Pero may anak na ako. Pero ang sarap ng pakiramdam," he added.

Pascual has said that while Iñigo is based in the United States, he maintains constant communication with him and makes frequent visits there. In an interview in February, the actor said he also remains civil with Iñigo's mother, who updates him on their son's education.

Now that Iñigo has expressed interest in joining showbiz -- Pascual would only allow him to go full-time once he turns 18 -- the actor said he tries "to set an example."

"You have to make things right for him. Para, at least, you know na 'yung susundan niyang yapak is hindi siya maliligaw," said Pascual, who is approaching his 20th year in showbiz.

Pascual is currently doing promotions for his latest film, the crime-thriller "OTJ," which premieres on August 28. He is also filming a Star Cinema movie with actress Toni Gonzaga and director Olivia Lamasan.

Piolo-Gerald film 'OTJ' to premiere at Cannes

MANILA -- "On The Job (OTJ)," the upcoming Star Cinema action flick starring Piolo Pascual and Gerald Anderson, will hold its world premiere in May as part of a section at the prestigious Cannes International Film Festival.

The Erik Matti-directed film is one of the selections of the Quinzaine des Réalisateurs or the Directors' Fortnight, a section at Cannes held independently by the French Directors Guild.

In "OTJ," Pascual portrays a National Bureau of Investigation agent whose job puts him at odds with his wife (Shaina Magdayao). Anderson, meanwhile, takes on the role of a "hitman" on the run.

It also stars Joel Torre, Joey Marquez and Angel Aquino.

The lone Filipino movie in the section will be screened alongside 30 other films -- 21 feature films and 9 short films -- from around the world.

Now on its 45th year, the Directors' Fortnight "seeks to aid filmmakers and contribute to their discovery by the critics and audiences alike... [It] is distinguished by its independent-mindedness, its non-competitive nature and its concern to cater to non-professional Cannes audiences," according to the Cannes sidebar's official website.

Since its initial program in 1969, the Directors' Fortnight has showcased the first films of world-renowned directors like George Lucas, Chantal Akerman, Sofia Coppola, and Francis Ford Coppola.

The 45th Fortnight will start on May 16, with Israeli film director Ari Folman's "The Congress" as its opening film.

Aside from "OTJ," two other Filipino films will participate in this year's Cannes.

“Death March,” which stars Kapamilya actors Sam Milby and Zanjoe Marudo, will compete in the Un Certain Regard section of the annual film festival, along with another Filipino film, “Norte, Hangganan ng Kasaysayan” by acclaimed filmmaker Lav Diaz.

In an interview on "Showbiz Inside Report" aired on Saturday, the accidental comedienne, along with Pascual, opened up on their relationship that goes beyond being his long-time personal assistant and her employer.

Marian Rivera, Piolo Pascual kiss in new film

MANILA -- Once thought as an impossible team-up due to the "network wars," Marian Rivera and Piolo Pascual will portray a couple in an upcoming film which features the indie debut of veteran actress Vilma Santos.

In "Ekstra," Rivera and Pascual portray actors who topbill a TV series titled "Nauna Kang Naging Akin," effectively making their debut project together in a film within a film.

According to entertainment columnist Ricky Lo, a recent shoot for "Ekstra" saw the characters of Rivera and Pascual play out a poor boy-rich girl scenario in the fictional "teleserye." In one scene, the two meet in a sugarcane field after circumstances forced them apart, sealing the reunion with a kiss.

Pascual and Rivera have faced off time and again on primetime TV, being the respective lead stars of shows aired by rival networks ABS-CBN and GMA-7.

Santos, who reportedly plays the maid of Rivera's character in "Nauna Kang Naging Akin," takes on another layer of portrayal as the title character of "Ekstra."

Produced by Atty. Joji Alonso under Quantum Films and directed by Jeffrey Jeturian ("Be Careful With My Heart"), the Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival entry centers on the character of Santos, who makes a living as an "extra" or bit player in films.

Dubbed the country's "Star for All Seasons," Santos has reportedly waived her talent fee for the film, as did Pascual and Rivera.

Joining Santos in the cast of "Ekstra" are Cherie Gil, Pilar Pilapil, Nico Antonio, Marx Topacio, Olive Isidro, Tom Rodriguez, Tart Carlos, Ronaline Enriquez and Roli Inocencio.

Film director Jose Javier Reyes will also make a cameo appearance as a director of the film within the film. Richard Yap of "Be Careful With My Heart" will likewise reportedly make an appearance in the Cinemalaya entry.

For Piolo, Diether, respect key to lasting friendship

MANILA, Philippines – Actors Piolo Pascual and Diether Ocampo both agreed that the key to a lasting friendship is having mutual respect for each other.

In an interview with “Showbiz Inside Report” aired on Saturday, both actors said they never thought their friendship would come a long way.

Both are members of the first “ASAP” boy group The Hunks along with Jericho Rosales, Carlos Agassi and Bernard Palanca.

According to Pascual, he considers Ocampo as one of his brothers in show business.

“Si Diet napakatahimik na tao. Sa maraming taon na magkasama kami, kaya niyang i-keep sa sarili niya, diretso siyang kausap. Bilang isa sa mga kuya namin sa Star Magic, maganda 'yung example na pinapakita niya sa kabataan,” he said.

Ocampo, for his part, admires Pascual’s headstrong personality through tough times.

“May sarili ring mundo ‘to eh. Pero ‘yun 'yung part na nadi-discover ninyo na may similarities kayo, may common interests kayo... PJ, I can also say the same thing, marami rin siyang pinagdaanan, pero I admire him na he was able to rise above the challenges sa buhay niya,” he said.

Asked what they would do if The Hunks members fall in love with the same girl, Pascual said: “Masyadong maliit ‘yung mundo natin sa showbiz ‘di ba?”

“Siguro respeto lang sa isa’t isa, ganoon talaga. Kapag may mga ganyan, as much as possible, hindi pinag-uusapan,” he added.

As for Ocampo, he said: “No, those are things na better left unsaid. May mga bagay na parang… like he said, may mutual respect kami sa isa’t isa, may mga bagay na parang… ah okay, kung mas masaya siya doon…”

According to “Showbiz Inside Report,” Pascual was once romantically linked to actress Rica Peralejo, who was once with Palanca.

Ocampo, on the other hand, entered into a relationship with actress Kristine Hermosa, who was Rosales’ previous girlfriend.

Pascual and Ocampo are currently promoting their upcoming series "Apoy Sa Dagat." Also starring Angelica Panganiban, the primetime series will hit the TV screens starting February 11.

Piolo explains photo of him, Maja kissing

MANILA, Philippines -- Weeks after a photo of him and Maja Salvador apparently kissing circulated online, Piolo Pascual finally explained the story behind the captured moment.

The photo in question went viral some days after a video, which shows images of both Kapamilya talents inside a car, was posted in November on video-sharing site YouTube. In one photo, Pascual, 35, and Salvador, 24, appear to be intimate.

According to the description of the video, the photos were taken on November 24 at McKinley Hills in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig.

"I was coming out of a run sa Sunlife last week tapos nag-'Star Magic Gives Back' concert kami," Pascual was quoted as saying by entertainment news site Push.com.ph.

"I was driving out of McKinley, nakita ko siya (Salvador), nagpaalam ako. Then she suddenly rode in my car tapos 'yun, may pumicture na we were going to kiss, tapos 'yun na," the actor added.

Although the photo may suggest a romantic relationship between the two, Pascual clarified that he is only friends with Salvador. Referring to the actress' former boyfriend, Pascual said, "I am friends with Matteo (Guidicelli) as well, and Maja is a nice girl as well, busy sa trabaho 'yun."

The "Apoy sa Dagat" star also laughed off jokes from their friends linking them as a couple. "Lokohan lang iyon, wala 'yun," he said.

Piolo open to reunion project with Judai

MANILA, Philippines -- Stressing that everything's okay between him and former leading lady Judy Ann Santos, actor Piolo Pascual on Monday said he is open to doing a reunion project with the actress.

Pascual and Santos appeared in several hit movies such as "Don't Give Up on Us" and "Til There Was You" as well as television shows like "Sa Piling Mo."

However, they reportedly had some sort of falling in 2006.

"Naghihintay lang naman ako. Sobra akong kumportable kay Judai. I'm praying and wishing for that, na magkasama ulit kami kasi ang laki naman ng tinulong sa akin ni Judai," he told reporters during a press conference for his "Sunpiology Run and Star Magic Gives Back" concert on November 24 at the Venice Piazza Mall at McKinley Hill.

"'Yung career ko, it opened doors because of my partnership with her. So gusto kong gusto ko na maka-partner siya ulit dahil sa laki ng naitulong niya sa akin, parang siya 'yung taong gusto kong makasama," he added.

In previous interviews, Santos also confirmed that she and Pascual have already patched things up.

In fact, the two were spotted talking to each other during ABS-CBN's trade event last week.

"Nagbigay pugay lang ako kay Judai. When I saw the line up and I saw Judy Ann there, sabi ko gusto kong bumati. So nakita ko siya. Unfortunately may lumabas na camera agad, so nahiya din ako. Tapos lumabas nagbati daw ba kami. Hindi naman kami magkaaway ni Judai," Pascual explained.

"It's just like the old times. Wala naman kaming problema ni Judai. Okay naman," he added.

Piolo's son reveals inner turmoil over dad's breakup with KC

MANILA, Philippines – Iñigo Pascual, son of actor Piolo Pascual, admitted that he got hurt over insinuations hurled against his father amid the latter's highly publicized breakup with actress KC Concepcion last year.

The young Pascual revealed in an exclusive interview with a magazine that he felt “really bad” at the time inasmuch as that he wasn’t able to do something about it and help his dad.

“You know that feeling when you want to say something but you can’t?” he was quoted as saying by Star Studio Magazine. “It makes me feel really bad and mad at the same time. Sometimes I just want to say stuff and tell them [media] off.”

Pascual said that the only thing that stopped him from doing so was his fear that his involvement might worsen the situation.

Iñigo said his father is a good man and people should really get to know him first before making malicious conclusions.

He hopes for his dad to find the right girl – someone not from showbiz.

“I want him to find someone who’s simple, someone who I can talk to, and someone who I know really loves him for who he is and someone who will take me as I am and for being my dad’s son,” he said.

Ciara Sotto on breakup of niece KC Concepcion with Piolo Pascual

Sagot niya, "I feel bad for her because I know she's sad.

"Pero she's okay, e. And she's really, really [a] strong girl.

"The whole family is just here to support her.

"Of course, we're also sad. We cry when she cries, pero pinagdadaanan talaga 'yan sa buhay.

"So, all we have to do is just support her and love her and show her that we're here for her."

"Yeah, parang nalaman ko from one of my sisters," sagot ni Ciara.

"Well, I [would] tell her that it's better to have a boyfriend na hindi showbiz.

"Yun...yun talaga ang palagi kong sinasabi sa kanya.

"Pero kasi kapag ganyan, ilang taon pa lang naman siya...Mai-in love ka talaga kapag pinapakilig ka."

Nagulat pa ba siya noong malaman niya ang nangyari?

Sabi ni Ciara, "Hindi ko alam kung bakit hindi ako nagulat. But I wasn't expecting it naman.

"Pero I guess kasi, I know, she's still young and she will still find someone talaga that she can spend the rest of her life with."

"I think, if he really loves her, he'll stand up for her.

"Magkaibigan naman kami nun. So, wala akong galit sa kanya.

"Pero hindi rin ako natutuwa, siyempre."

Ano ang maipapayo niya ngayon sa kanyang pamangkin na si KC?

KC confirms breakup with Piolo, reveals 'may mga bagay na hindi ko na kayang lunukin'

MANILA, Philippines - KC Concepcion has finally laid long-running speculations to rest by admitting that she and Piolo Pascual have called it quits after an estimated year-long romance.

In what may well be her most emotional interview to date via "The Buzz" on Nov. 27, KC did not reveal the reason behind their breakup because "ayoko lang makasakit ng tao." She likewise begged off answering her co-host Boy Abunda's query if there's a third party involved in the split.

Nevertheless, the singer-host-actress pointed out that, "PJ [Piolo's nickname] knows exactly why we broke up." This reason, she added, was also the "worst" part of their relationship.

Couple problems

The 26-year-old KC gave indirect yet seemingly telling statements about issues that she and Piolo, 34, had as lovers.

KC eventually broke down. "May mga bagay na hindi ko na kayang lunukin… Hindi ko na kaya 'yun tanggapin…"

In their relationship, KC admitted that she was also at fault in some aspects, saying, "Syempre ginusto ko naman 'to di ba? So kasalanan ko rin sa sarili ko kasi pinaglaban ko pa eh. Ginusto ko eh. Tsaka sobra-sobra talaga akong nagtiwala. Sobra."

"Minsan kailangan mo rin intindihin 'yung sarili mo kasi bigay lang ako nang bigay, tsaka iniintindi ko lahat. Parang masyado akong nagbigay ng benefit of the doubt sa lahat. Intindi lang ako nang intindi, tinatanggap ko lang nang tinatanggap. 'Yun pala hindi pala dapat ganon," she also said.

A lot of things became clear to KC in their first anniversary last Oct. 21, particularly, "'yung mga kaya ko at hindi ko kayang gawin," she said.

Boy asked, "Bilang girlfriend?" KC firmly responded, "Bilang babae."

Madness and second chances

The months that led to their breakup weren't easy for KC, given that, as she admitted, she's not the type to open her problems up to people.

The recent US tour she did with Piolo, as well as with Yeng Constantino, also became like an "exam" and a "tug of war" for KC, "Kasi ito 'yung taong minahal ko o mahal mo, pero sobra akong nasasaktan ngayon, pero mahal ko siya, pero hindi na talaga pwede," she said.

She added, "And araw-araw na magkasama kami iniisip ko 'dito lang tayo sa Amerika nagkaroon ng panahon na tayong dalawa lang, ni hindi natin na-enjoy dahil hindi na talaga gagana.'"

All the pain and disappointments eventually piled up and turned to anger, KC recalled. The effects apparently appalled her.

"First time ko rin na parang napapamura na rin ako. Hindi naman ako gano'n, and bigla na lang akong maiiyak kasi hindi pala ako okay."

"[And] never pa akong nakapagdasal ng ganito ka-sobra. First time kong magdasal ng ganito, na talagang, Diyos na 'yun, pwede pa akong magtiwala... And siya lang po talaga yung naging kakampi ko sa lahat," said KC.

She lamented the manner in which Piolo addressed the then-rumors about their relationship.

"Siya natatawa lang siya kapag nakikita kong ini-interview siya, idadaan na lang niya sa joke. Na parang ako, 'Bakit ikaw ganyan, ako ganito?' Bakit parang hanggang sa huli, mag-isa lang ako dito?" she said, adding that she was unsure how to spill the beans to her mother, Megastar Sharon Cuneta, as well as to her grandmother, Elaine Cuneta, who KC stressed, loves the hunk singer-actor dearly.

Piolo nevertheless apologized to KC and asked for another chance.

"Ganun naman po si PJ, humihingi po ng tawad pero ang point naman po ng pagpapatawad ng isang babae is para sana hindi na maulit. Kasi hindi ka naman magpapatawad na iisipin mong paulit-ulit tapos paulit-ulit din na magso-sorry," she said.

KC said she gave Piolo seven chances, but when it got to the eighth, she realized, "hindi lahat ng problema nadadaan sa kilig… nadadaan sa tawa."

"Kasi ang galing-galing niyang magpakilig. Ang tanga-tanga ko nga eh. Dumating lang siya sa point na sandali lang, parang hindi na natin ina-ano 'yung totoong nangyayari. Kasi titignan ka lang niya, ay wala na talaga, nakalimutan ko na lahat. Eh lagi na lang gano'n," she lamented.

Lessons learned

Despite everything that they went through, KC said, "Naniniwala naman ako na ‘pag sinasabi ni PJ na minahal niya ako, naniniwala naman ako na meron namang katotohanan 'yon."

Her first "showbiz" relationship--as KC would say--taught her to be more mature.

"First relationship ko din na seryoso talaga na to the point na talagang may mga bagay na hindi naman kumportable, nagagawa mong tanggapin kasi mahal mo and you choose to accept... Mas naiintindihan ko kung ano 'yung pagmamahal. It sounds corny pero mas [naging] accepting ako," she said.

Asked what were the key lessons she learned from their relationship, the Mega-daughter said, "Magtira ka para sa sarili mo, at ang tiwala na ibibigay mo sa taong mamahalin mo, dapat alagaan nung taong mahal mo."

As of now, KC said she and Piolo are on "civil" terms.

Please.'"

Notwithstanding the pain and the tears, KC remains hopeful about love. Her wish? "Makahanap ako ng true love!" she exclaimed, laughing while tears filled her eyes.
