MANILA, Philippines – Although her parents’ relationship did not work out several years ago, Cristalle Henares still believes that her father, Atom Henares, is the best man for celebrity doctor Vicki Belo and their family.
“My dad might not have been faithful 10 years back, di ba, daddy,” Cristalle jokingly said in an interview on the ABS-CBN morning show “Kris TV” on Tuesday.
“But he has always been loyal to our family. Kapag may crisis, when it comes to business or personal [issues], siya lagi ang nagste-step up for us. We’re very lucky to have him,” she added.
“Kris TV” host Kris Aquino then revealed that Cristalle is still hoping that her parents would be back together by the time Belo would turn 60.
The celebrity doctor turned 56 this year.
“Atom, sabi niya (Cristalle) na kapag ang mommy niya nag-60, sana kayo pa rin at the end of the day,” Aquino told the businessman in a phone conversation aired during the show.
To which Atom replied: “Sa totoo lang, we’ve never left each other. We’re together all the time, I think.”
Belo called it quits with long-time boyfriend Hayden Kho early this year amid allegations that the young doctor had an affair with actress Nancy Castiglione.
Citing a previous interview with Kho, Aquino told Cristalle that she is one of the reasons the relationship did not last.
“Sila ni Quark (Cristalle’s brother) nagkasagutan sila and all, but they were able to patch things up. He (Kho) said one of the reasons why hindi natuloy ang kasal nila ng mom mo, apart from the paperwork, is because ayaw mo raw talaga,” the “Kris TV” host told Cristalle.
Belo’s daughter replied, “Pumunta na sa point na hindi na ako nagco-comment about the relationship.”
