MANILA, Philippines – Filipino supermodel Pauline Prieto channels American actress Stephanie Seymour on the cover of the November issue of men’s magazine Rogue.
The magazine unveiled the black-and-white cover of Prieto late on Saturday to headline “The Dirty Business of Art Forgery.”
The cover, photographed by Mark Nicdao and styled by Pam Quiñones, was obviously inspired by a controversial photograph by famed fashion photographer Richard Avedon of Seymour.
But unlike the X-rated Avedon photo, which showed full-frontal nudity from the American actress, Prieto wore tiny panties beneath her sheer top. The cover blurb also strategically covered Prieto’s nipples.
Prieto’s makeup was done by Robbie Piñera, while Celeste Tuviera did her hair.
Former beauty queen Cai Subijano said it was about time Prieto got a magazine cover. “Ugh, finally a Pauline Prieto cover!” she wrote on Rogue’s Facebook page.
Netizens praised the cover concept.
“A must-buy! Love the forgery concept even up to the typography!” said Jon delos Reyes.
“This is how to do forgery with some CLASS. I love the concept,” said Cecille R. Junio.
“The E and the R are well placed, hehe... Love the black & white look and the simplicity of the layout, good job!” commented Jay Ortega.
Prieto used the cover as her profile photo on her Facebook account. “Thank you, Rogue Magazine!” she wrote.
Her friends, meanwhile, congratulated her on the magazine exposure.
“Wooot! Hotness! Why'd they cover your nips? I kid. Haha,” wrote Valerie de los Santos.
“Way better than Avedon/Seymour version!” said BJ Formento.
Prieto represented the country in the prestigious Elite Model Look competition in 2010. Eighty models from 50 countries joined the event.
