Video of Angel Locsin impersonator goes viral

MANILA, Philippines -- A video of a stand-up comedienne impersonating actress Angel Locsin is making the rounds online, days after it was first aired on TV via the late-night gag show "Banana Split."

In the four-minute video, singer-comedienne Jenny and another comedian, Iyah, are seen bantering. After impersonating a number of popular singers -- Jaya, Charice and Sitti -- Jenny adjusts her demeanor and voice to match Locsin's.

The comedienne proceeds to deliver Locsin's lines in the blockbuster film "One More Try," referring to herself as the character Grace.

One of the lead stars in the 2012 Metro Manila Film Festival entry, Zanjoe Marudo, is also seen in the video. The actor, who is one of the hosts of "Banana Split," is invited by Iyah on stage to re-enact a scene in "One More Try" with Jenny.

On the social networking site Facebook, the clip was uploaded on Wednesday night and quickly went viral. As of writing, it now has over 6,300 likes, over 7,800 shares, and 1,150 comments.

Most netizens shared their amusement with the similarity of Jenny's speaking voice with that of Locsin. Facebook user Abner Malong said, "May future! Sana mabigyan ng chance! Obvious na may talent!"

Netizen Elidrian Gutierrez, meanwhile, said, "Napatawa niyo ako, magandang simula para sa umaga ko."
