Globe offers 'unli' access to JobStreet app

MANILA, Philippines - Online recruitment portal JobStreet.com Philippines has partnered with Globe Telecom to help Filipinos find their "dream job" just by using their mobile phones.

By availing of Globe's Mail20 Plus, a prepaid subscriber with a smartphone will have an unlimited 1-day access to the JobStreet Mobile App, which allows users to search and apply for various job openings "anywhere, anytime," for only P20.

Mail20 Plus also provides access to Facebook, Gmail and Yahoo Mail as part of the mobile surfing bundle.

“With Mail20 Plus, subscribers can enjoy not only the interactive features of JobStreet.com but they can also instantly check and respond to e-mails as well as post job hunting updates on their Facebook accounts," said Jenny Granada-Echevarria, head of mobile data services at Globe.

Angie Po, head of prepaid usage and mobile data services for Globe, said that it's "only a matter of time before every Filipino will have smartphones."

Po explained that the entry of cheaper versions of these smartphones into the Philippine market will allow more Filipinos access to such technology and more importantly, the internet.

According to JobStreet.com marketing director Yoda Buyco, the company hopes that the partnership and the launch of their new application will further boost the amount of Filipinos that will have access to the thousands of job openings available in their website.

“We share our mission of improving lives through better careers with Globe by making job hunting easier and more accessible aided by a medium that is common to most of us, the mobile phone," said Buyco.

Buyco added that since their launch of the mobile application in Singapore, JobStreet.com users in the country has increased by 20%.

The JobStreet Mobile App is available for free on iTunes, Google Play, BlackBerry World and Windows Market.
