Apple shows off gaming capability in Arcadium
MANILA -- Apple products has been widely known in the gaming community as a device for casual gamers, who prefer playing "Angry Birds" or "Candy Crush."
But with the company's dedication to improve the graphic capability of its slim, pocket-sized devices, it will only be a matter of time before Apple becomes serious competition for other handheld devices, let alone for those bulky home consoles.
And to answer the launch of Sony's Playstation 4, Microsoft's Xbox One and Nintendo's Wii U in the country, Power Mac Center, a local distributor of Apple products, staged its third run of the gaming application tournament, Arcadium 3.
Arcadium allows gamers, casual and serious alike, to test out mobile applications using Mac, Apple TV, iPad, iPad mini, iPhone and the iPod Touch.
Participants battled it out in various games available at Apple's App Store, such as Ducati Challenge, Shadowgun: Deadzone, Scrabble, Despicable Me: Minion Rush, and Elite Command AR.
Contestants put to use their vocabulary skills in Scrabble, one of the featured games in the finals event of Power Mac Center’s signature app arcade tournament Arcadium
The annual event was held at the TriNoma Activity Center in Quezon City last December 7.
