Red Hot Chili Peppers excited to visit PH


MANILA – Members of Red Hot Chili Peppers expressed their excitement to visit the Philippines for the first time next year.

The American rock band will headline the first 7107 International Music Festival, which will be held on February 22 and 23 at the Global Gateway Logistics City in Clark, Pampanga.

In a video on the music festival’s Facebook page, band members Anthony Kiedis and Flea asked their fans in the Philippines to watch them perform.



“We’ve never gotten to come to the Philippines and we’re very excited,” said Flea in the video, which was uploaded on Sunday.

“We really hope that we get to see you in the 7107 festival,” he added.

Kiedis, for his part, said: “We’re very pleased to go to the Philippines… It’s going to be fun.”

Red Hot Chili Peppers is known for hits such as “Under the Bridge,” “Give It Away,” “The Zephyr Song,” “Scar Tissue” and “By the Way.”

The band contributed the song “Factory of Faith” to the “Songs for the Philippines” album, which aims to raise funds for survivors of super typhoon “Yolanda” (international name Haiyan).

Festival organizers recently released the initial lineup of artists for next year’s event. Some of the other performers include Empire of the Sun, The Asteroids Galaxy Tour, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Natives, Up Dharma Down, Radioactive Sago Project, The Ringmaster, Yolanda Moon, Maude, Encounters with a Yeti, Musical O, Sleepwalk Circus, Hidden Nikki, Skymarines, Child/Ren of the Pilgrimage, The Charmes, Populardays, The Sleepyheads and Not Another Boyfriend.
