WATCH: Pinay performs at 2016 Olivier Awards

MANILA - A Filipina singer was among the performers at the 2016 Olivier Awards held at the Royal Opera House in London on Sunday.

Christine Allado sang "96,000" as part of the ensemble for "In the Heights," a Lin-Manuel Miranda musical that took home three awards, namely Outstanding Achievement in Music, Choreography, and Best Supporting Actor in a Musical.

Allado plays Vanessa in "In the Heights."

The UK-based newspaper The Guardian, in its review, described the musical as "an utterly huggable and thrillingly exuberant celebration of the daily lives of the Dominican and Puerto Rican American community in New York's Washington Heights."

Allado was previously cast in the London production of the musical about Imelda Marcos, "Here Lies Love."

She was also part of Tim Rice's "From Here to Eternity" and "Beyond the Fence" – the world's first computer generated musical.
