MANILA – Expect to see a Michael Cinco gown in this year’s Miss Universe pageant.
The Filipino designer has been tapped to create the gown of Miss Universe Canada 2018 Marta Magdalena Stepien.
The Canadian beauty queen visited Cinco’s boutique in Dubai on Monday.
“Couture fitting with the super stunning Miss Canada Universe in Dubai before she flies to Bangkok to compete in Miss Universe 2018… Marta is probably one of the strongest contenders to win the crown this year,” Cinco said in an Instagram post.
Stepien, for her part, said: “It is an absolute pleasure and honor to be in the company of the talented Michael Cinco. Thank you for warmly welcoming me to Dubai. Much love! Salamat po!”
She also shared a photo of her beside the Michael Cinco gown that Pia Wurtzbach wore when she passed on her crown in 2016.
“Who recognizes this iconic gown?” she asked her followers.
The Miss Universe 2018 pageant is set to take place in Bangkok, Thailand on December 17.
The Philippines’ representative, Catriona Gray, is hoping to win the country’s fourth Miss Universe crown after Wurtzbach in 2015.
