Congratulations is in order for Katy Perry!
More than a year since her engagement to actor Orlando Bloom, the “Roar” singer revealed through the music video of “Never Worn White” that they are expecting their first child together.
Launched on Thursday (Manila time), Perry can be seen at the end of the clip wearing a white dress, cradling her now apparent baby bump.
The “American Idol” judge also confirmed the good news when she did a live Instagram broadcast after the unveiling of the music video.
“There’s a lot that will be happening this summer. Not only will I be giving birth literally, but also figuratively to something you guys have been waiting for. Let’s just call it a double whammy,” she said.
“I am excited. We are excited and happy. It’s probably the longest secret I’ve had to keep. I’d like to tell you guys everything but I know I would tell you in the best way which is through a piece of music. Because that’s how I speak to you,” she added.
Perry clarified that “Never Worn White” is not the lead single for her upcoming album "KP5" but she said “it is a good way, I think, to start out. I had to reveal that at some point. It’s getting pretty obvious.”
This is going to be Bloom’s second child. He already has a nine-year-old son Flynn with his ex-wife Miranda Kerr.
