MANILA – For the first time, the University of the Philippines (UP) made it to the list of the world’s Top 100 universities for performing arts.
The 2020 World University Rankings by Subject of the British education company Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) showed that UP placed in the 51-100 bracket in the list of top performing arts institutions.
The state-run university also managed to stay in the 51-100 bracket in development studies for the second consecutive year.
The QS World University Rankings by Subject covers a total of 48 disciplines that are grouped into five broad subject areas.
The rankings are based on academic and employer reputation, as well as research impact based on citations of published papers.
UP ranks 356th in QS’s general World University Rankings for 2020, followed by Ateneo de Manila University (601-650 bracket), De La Salle University (801-1,000 bracket), and University of Santo Tomas (801-1,000 bracket).
