Zac Efron tweets about Mayon adventure

MANILA, Philippines -- Hollywood actor Zac Efron seems to be enjoying his brief vacation in the country.

A day before his much-anticipated fan conference, the A-list American actor took to micro-blogging site Twitter to share his experience "[riding up] the lava flow of [Mayon] Volcano" in Bicol.


Efron, who arrived in Manila on Wednesday, has been reported to be enjoying his break in the province of Albay.

On Thursday, Efron had breakfast at the Mayon Volcano and hopped on an ATV for a tour. Even on vacation, the actor was seen accomodating his fans who would ask to take photos with him.

The "High School Musical" star is reportedly staying at the Misibis Bay Resort in Cagraray Island.

"I'm just excited to be here. My dad comes here a lot. Some of our close family friends are from the Philippines. I grew up going to their house eating chicken adobo and stuff like that. And then, of course, Vanessa (Hudgens, his former girlfriend) is a Filipino," Efron told ABS-CBN News upon arriving in the country last Wednesday.

On Saturday, Efron will be officially launched as an endorser of local clothing line Penshoppe. And as expected of an event featuring an "A list" international celebrity, the Penshoppe Fan Conference at the SM Mall of Asia Arena will reportedly accommodate over 12,000 of Efron's Pinoy followers.

In his "tweet" about the event, Efron said: "Mabuhay! Stoked for the @PENSHOPPE fan con tomorrow! Excited to see you guys. Salamat! #PENSHOPPEFanCon2012"

Jeff Probst confirms: Survivor’s 25th edition shot in Philippines

MANILA, Philippines – The longest-running reality competition in the US just wrapped up shooting in Caramoan Island, Camarines Sur, in the Bicol Region, a report by Entertainment Weekly confirms.

According to Entertainment Weekly’s online TV blog, the 25th season of the hit show will be called ‘Survivor: Philippines’. Host Jeff Probst confirmed the location and season title to Entertainment Weekly and said that they had just finished shooting on the island last March.

In the interview, Probst said that the latest season will have more twists.

“First we decided on three tribes. That was the first thing. And that was just an effort to change up the way the numbers were playing. People were locking into these alliances of five. So we thought, okay, let’s try a three-tribe scenario and see what that does. Once we had the three tribes, we talked about are we going to do returnees? I love returnees,” he said.

Popular reality TV blog Rickey.org reports that even the 26th season of “Survivor” will be shot in Caramoan.

Caramoan has been a favorite site for various non-US “Survivor” franchises. The countries that have shot “Survivor” seasons in Caramoan include: Serbia, Israel, Bulgaria, Sweden, and France.
