'Fashion Pulis' arrested on libel charge

MANILA - Michael Sy Lim, more popularly known as the "Fashion Pulis," has been arrested on Tuesday in connection with a libel charge filed by model Deniece Cornejo.

According to a report from the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, Lim was arrested at 11:30 a.m. at his home in Makati City based on a warrant earlier issued by an Antipolo City Regional Trial Court.

A bail of P16,000 has been set for Lim, who took to social media site Twitter to air his reaction.

"Held in the CIDG office. Sad how people abuse libel to curtail press freedom. #FPisFearless," he wrote.

The cyber libel charge stemmed from an article posted on Lim's website claiming that Cornejo was sick with a sexually transmitted disease, according to the model's legal counsel Atty. Ferdinand Topacio.

Cornejo earlier made headlines she accused "It's Showtime" host Vhong Navarro of sexually assaulting her on January 17 and 22. The two rape complaints have since been dismissed.

She was also detained for four months until September last year after being charged with serious illegal detention by Navarro. (READ: Deniece wants apology from Vhong) -- with a report from Raffy Santos, ABS-CBN News

Regine on Kris: Walang sama ng loob

MANILA -- Singer Regine Velasquez is no longer keen on discussing her supposed rift with Kris Aquino, who supposedly unfollowed the singer on Instagram.

Based on some screen captures posted on the Fashion Pulis blog last week, Aquino supposedly misinterpreted some quotes about the death of the 44 commandos who were killed during an operation in Mamasapano, Maguindanao. Aquino thought the statements were from Ogie Alcasid and Velasquez.

"I do follow her. I wasn't aware (na in-unfollow ako ni Kris). It's not an issue," Velasquez said on Monday during the press conference of her upcoming concert "Ultimate" with fellow OPM icons Martin Nievera, Gary Valenciano and Lani Misalucha

"Alam mo it's finished. I couldn't understand the whole thing. Hindi ko din naintindihan kung ano ba 'yon at kinwento lang sa akin ng asawa ko. Walang anything, walang samaan ng loob," Velasquez stressed.

Meanwhile, the four singers also expressed their support for President Benigno Aquino III, saying it's now time to move on.

"Kung ano man ang nangyayari sa atin and sa kanya -- ang dami na din niyang problema -- I guess ang pinaka-the best (song ay) 'Let It Go,'" Misalucha said.

"Sa dami nang pino-problema natin ngayon parang I guess tama na muna 'yung sisihan. Let's just all pray for our President, who's going through a lot, and lets's pray for the families of the fallen 44, and for our government. Madaming dapat ayusin pero siguro hindi ito 'yung time to point fingers," Velasquez added.

"Stop being soloist for once in your life, learn to harmonize," Nievera added.

Asked of his advice for the President, Valenciano replied: "If I were to give him one advice, seek council not from too many people but only from one who has put him and made him leader of the nation. There's nothing wrong in seeking counsel in the one who can give everything, what he needs and so much more. No matter how difficult things have become, there's only God who can see. Once he does that, there's more than what is amazing that can happen to him, to guide him and to help him make the right decision."

Anne breaks silence on rumored split with Erwan

MANILA – Anne Curtis just laughed off rumors that she and her long-time boyfriend, restaurateur and food blogger Erwan Heussaff, have split up, as reported by popular showbiz blog Fashion Pulis.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News after her “AnneKapal” concert on Friday, Curtis said she doesn't know who is behind the rumors.

“I think whoever started that, nice try of making negative publicity but it's not true,” she said. “I don't know who started it pero at least nalinawan naman kagaad, within the same day. It was clear naman that it's not true.”

Last Wednesday, Heussaff took to Twitter to address the story on the blog, which cited a "very reliable source" in confirming the alleged breakup.

"Thanks for the concern, but let's remember that FP isn't BBC, there are more veracious sources of information out there. We are fine," he said.

Heussaff also reacted to the story's comment on his and Curtis' "behavior" on their respective social media accounts.

"Also, I'm not in showbiz, so my relationship is mine to keep precious and not yours to devour," Heussaff said. "If I don't post about it, that's my prerogative."

Asked why Heussaff seemed sarcastic in his tweets, Curtis said, “He's not showbiz so he does not really get the whole ‘Bakit may tsismis na lumabas?’ Hindi niya pa nage-gets kaya medyo sarcastic 'yung dating nung post.”

She, however, reiterated that both of them are “super fine.”

What’s next?

Meanwhile, Curtis heaved a sigh of relief her second major solo concert at the Araneta Coliseum turned out to be successful.

“Sobrang ikling panahon lang [kami nag-prepare] because every day kami nagte-tape ng ‘Dyesebel.’ That's why may sense of relief kasi kahit na alam kong konting panahon lang 'yung meron kami to prepare, na-achieve naman 'yung kailangan naming gawin,” she said.

Asked what she thinks is the highlight of her concert, Curtis said, “Masaya 'yung opening. 'Yung death-defying stunt ko, I think 'yun 'yung parang surreal. Sobra akong nagpapasalamat sa Araneta for allowing me to do it.”

“To be honest, when I first tried it na ganun kataas, hindi ko magawa 'yung flips. Ayaw pa ng loob ko. To know that it was successful, sobra akong happy,” she added.

Curtis said another highlight would be her duet with Regine Velasquez.

“'Yun talaga ang isa pang bonggang bongga highlight. Pati 'yung kay Sir Ogie (Alcasid), Sir Martin (Nievera), Robert Sena, talagang legit singers. But to sing ‘On The Wings of Love’ with Ms. Regine Velasquez was just crazy,” she said.
