After over 2 years, 'Be Careful With My Heart' airs final episode

MANILA - It was indeed a happy ending for the hit daytime series "Be Careful With My Heart", which aired its final episode on Friday (November 28) after running for over two years on ABS-CBN.

It was July 9, 2012 when the "kilig-serye" starring the love team of Maya (Jodi Sta. Maria) and Sir Chief (Richard Yap) first aired on the Kapamilya network.

On its last episode, Maya and Sir Chief remembered their "kilig" moments while enjoying their trip to Vigan, Ilocos Sur.

Sir Chief admitted to Maya that it wasn't an accident when he first said "I love you" to her, and that he kissed his phone when he got a photo of her at the prom of his son, Luke.

He went on to thank Maya for coming into his life, thinking that they would meet in another place if their first encounter at Jones Bridge did not happen.

"Sweetheart, we were destined to meet each other. So kahit ikut-ikutin mo pa ang nangyari sa past, magkikita at magkikita pa rin tayo," Sir Chief said.

After their Vigan trip, Sir Chief surprised Maya with a party for her 30th birthday, which gathered all the people who have been part of her journey.

Tears fell as Maya received good words from the people who are special to her like Kute (Aiza Seguerra), Nanay Teresita (Sylvia Sanchez), Abby (Mutya Orquia) and, of course, Sir Chief.

"Salamat sa lahat ng naki-celebrate sa amin. Thank you sa lahat.

Maraming, maraming salamat sa inyo," Maya said.

They all then emotionally performed the song "Kapit Bisig".

So what happened to the other characters of the series? Here's a quick list:

1. Isabel (Viveika Ravanes), one of the nannies of the Lim family, announced that she is pregnant.
2. Tatay Arturo (Lito Pimentel) asked Nanay Teresita to marry him again.
3. Maya's friend Simon (Paul Jake Castillo) now works in Singapore. He took a short break to attend Maya's birthday party.
4. Maya's friend Lino (Vandolph Quizon) ends up with Thea (Jopay Paguia).

The cast members of "Be Careful With My Heart" bade farewell on Friday in a live television special hosted by Toni Gonzaga.

"Sa lahat po ng taong sumuporta at tumangkilik sa 'Be Careful With My Heart", kung naging inspirasyon kami sa inyo, naging inspirasyon din kayo sa amin. Maraming, maraming salamat po sa inyo and God bless you all," Sta. Maria said.

"This is not goodbye, this is the beginning of something new and something better. Who knows, baka magkita-kita kami ulit, so we will see you soon. Hindi goodbye," Yap said.

Jodi, Richard say 'Be Careful' honeymoon to watch out for

MANILA – Richard Yap and Jodi Sta. Maria have nothing but gratitude to all the avid viewers of their daytime show, “Be Careful With My Heart,” for always keeping them as one of the most-watched programs nationwide.

The recently concluded wedding episode of the daytime series drew monster viewership, garnering a national TV rating of 27.2%, according to Kantar Media.

The number was good enough to rank "Be Careful With My Heart" as the second most-watched television program in the Philippines on Friday -- a rare feat for a daytime show.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Yap said they will forever be grateful that a lot of viewers helped them reach this milestone.

“We are very thankful that people are so into Sir Chief, Maya and into the wedding. We’d like to thank them for all their support,” he said.

As a treat to the viewers, Sta. Maria said the second post-wedding party of Maya and Sir Chief will be shown on ABS-CBN Sunday’s Best on November 24.

She said viewers should also keep a close watch on how her and Yap’s characters would develop now that there are already married.

“We don’t want to spill the beans so kailangan abangan niyo iyan,” she said.

In the coming episodes, “Be Careful With My Heart” is expected to show the honeymoon of the couple, which was shot in Japan.

Here, he surprises Maya with a prenuptial shoot he had arranged with their wedding planner, Corinne (Regine Tolentino), and her team of photographers.

Maya and Ricky, who are set to wed on November 15, gamely pose for photos at the famous landmark. They proceed to do a shoot at another venue, this time at a hangar where the groom-to-be once toured his fiancee to help her in her work as a flight attendant.

While Ricky is hesitant at first to say yes to Maya's goofy suggestions, the once widowed businessman eventually yields to his fiancee's requests.

Directed by Jeffrey Jeturian and Mervyn Brondial, "Be Careful With My Heart" airs weekdays after "Minute to Win It" on ABS-CBN.

Jodi Sta. Maria opens milkshake bar

MANILA – Inspired by her son's fondness of milkshakes, actress Jodi Sta. Maria has put up a milkshake bar in Las PIñas.

Called the Happy Barn Milkshake Factory, the stall located at the Rustan's Supermarket in Evia, Las Pinas allows customers make their own milkshakes apart from the standard flavors, explained Sta. Maria, who stars in the top-rating daytime series "Be Careful With My Heart."

“We wanted to offer the market something new – a milkshake bar, a place where people have the freedom to make their own milkshakes, aside from the flavors that we are offering,” she told ABS-CBN News during the official opening on Sunday.

“I have enrolled dati sa isang cooking class pero doon sa paggawa ng flavors ng milkshake, ang naging susi ko 'yung pagiging mom ko. Kasi I have a 7-year-old kid na mahilig sa milkshake. When I was developing the flavors, si Thirdy din ang taga-taste-test kung magugustuhan niya,” she added.

Sta. Maria proudly shared that they use their own ice cream for their milkshakes, adding that they will soon come up with more varieties.

“At home we would use 'yung brands of ice cream na existing sa market. With Happy Barn Milkshake Factory, we formulated our own ice cream… We also use low-fat and low-sugar ice cream. And in the coming months, we will be serving a lactose-free, fat-free and sugar-free variety,” she said.

With the success of their first branch, Sta. Maria and her business partners are planning to open two more branches at Market! Market! in Taguig, and Power Plant Mall in Makati.

“Next month, we are opening two more branches. By December, we’ll be open to franchising. Hindi lang dito sa Philippines, we’ve been getting franchise inquiries from Malaysia, Singapore,” she said.

Happy Barn Milkshake Factory is Sta. Maria's second venture in the food and beverage business, after the Mardi Gras-inspired restaurant Rue Bourbon in Eastwood in Libis.

Jodi Sta. Maria splurges on diamond ring

MANILA, Philippines -- With the phenomenal success of her hit daytime series "Be Careful With My Heart," actress Jodi Sta. Maria rewarded herself with a major purchase.

On Wednesday, Sta, Maria posted a photo on her Instagram account of what appears to be a diamond ring.

But in her official Twitter account, Sta. Maria stressed that she bought the ring as a gift to herself.

"Hold your horses tweeps! The ring is my gift to myself. :) Rewarding myself for all my hard work :)," the actress tweeted.

Sta. Maria had to make a clarification amid speculations that the ring might have been given by boyfriend Jolo Revilla as an engagement present.

Revilla has publicly credited Sta. Maria for bringing "light" into his life, while the actress, who was initially coy about the aspiring politician, is more open about to being seen hand-in-hand with the son of Senator Ramon "Bong" Revilla Jr.

Sta. Maria recently campaigned for the vice-gubernatorial candidate in Imus, Cavite.

Rumors romantically linking Sta. Maria and the younger Revilla surfaced in September last year and the "Be Careful With My Heart" star has since referred to actor-politician as her "special someone."

'Be Careful With My Heart' extended

MANILA, Philippines - Kapamilya actress Jodi Sta. Maria admitted that her life has totally changed because of the hit daytime series "Be Careful With My Heart," where she plays a lead role for the first time.

"Super. Sobrang laking pagbabago talaga," Sta. Maria said in an interview on "Kris TV" hosted by Kris Aquino.

The actress admitted that she and the rest of the show's cast and production team never imagined that "Be Careful With My Heart" will be a huge hit.

"Hindi talaga namin ini-expect kasi noong nagsimula 'yung show, parang experimental lang siya. Ultimo 'yung love team namin ni Papa Chen. So 'yun, pinaniwalaan lang namin talaga 'yung konsepto," she said of her on-screen partner on the series, Richard Yap.

Because of the show's success, "Be Careful With My Heart" has been extended up to February 2013, according to Sta. Maria.

In "Be Careful With My Heart," Sta. Maria plays the role of Maya, a family maid attending to the children of Yap's character, a rich widower.

Wants to be a doctor

"Yes, nandoon pa rin siya. Hindi pa rin ako naggi-give up doon sa pangarap ko na 'yon," she said.

"Wala naman sa edad 'yung pag-aaral, hindi ba? Hanggang kaya ko. Hindi ba hanggang may buhay may pag-asa? So nandoon pa rin ako, hindi ko pa din siya binibitiwan."

Aside from her hit daytime soap "Be Careful With My Heart," Sta. Maria is also busy with her restaurant business.
