Bieber says he's 'never going to be perfect' after tour cancellation

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Justin Bieber offered a mea culpa to his fans saying he was "never going to be perfect" but hoped to learn from his mistakes, after a tumultuous week in which he abruptly canceled the rest of his world tour and accidentally hit a photographer with his truck.

The 23-year-old singer, who pulled out of the remaining 14 dates of his "Purpose" world tour on July 24 and injured the photographer after a Beverly Hills church service two days later, said he had let his "broken relationships dictate the way I acted toward people."

"i let bitterness, jealousy and fear run my life.!!!!," the singer said in an Instagram post on Wednesday.

"Im VERY aware I'm never gonna be perfect, and I'm gonna keep making mistakes but what I'm not gonna do is let my past dictate my future," he added.

The Canadian pop star said the tour had taught him "so much about myself," in what he called a "very grammatically incorrect but its from the heart" Instagram post.

He did not mention the incident with the photographer, who suffered non-life threatening injuries and thanked Bieber in an Instagram video last week for staying with him until emergency services came after the accident.

After playing more than 150 shows, Bieber pulled out of his tour, citing only "unforeseen circumstances" at the time, which frustrated and worried his fans. It also brought support, including from singer-songwriter John Mayer, who gave Bieber credit for looking after his mental health.

A day after canceling his tour, Bieber told celebrity news outlet TMZ.com that he was looking forward to "just resting and getting some relaxation" after two years on the road.

Since he broke out as a young fresh-faced teen pop singer, Bieber has amassed a devoted fan base of mostly young girls. He has faced an intense public spotlight, including a high-profile on-and-off relationship with singer-actress Selena Gomez that ended in 2012, and several run-ins with the law.

Justin Bieber leaves Instagram; Selena apologizes

MANILA - Pop star Justin Bieber appeared to have deactivated his Instagram account, which has more than 77 million followers, after receiving a slew of negative comments over dating Sofia Richie, the daughter of singer Lionel Richie.

Bieber and Richie have been spotted together in recent weeks, which did not sit well with the fans of the "Sorry" hitmaker. "I'm gonna make my Instagram private if you guys don't stop the hate. This is getting out of hand, if you guys are really fans you wouldn't be so mean to people that I like," Bieber threatened.

The hate apparently did not stop as a visit to Bieber's Instagram page will yield an error message that reads: "Sorry, this page isn't available," which usually appears when a user either deactivates or deletes his account entirely.

Bieber's actions also comes after his former girlfriend, singer Selena Gomez decided to weigh in on the drama. "If you can't handle the hate then stop posting pictures of your girlfriend lol - it should be special between you two only," she commented. "Don't be mad at your fans. They love you."

It prompted Bieber to reply: "It's funny to see people that used me for attention and still try to point the finger this way. Sad. All love."

Gomez, according to the Daily Mail, has since apologized for her comments. "What I said was selfish and pointless," she posted on her Snapchat account.

As of writing, Bieber's Twitter and Facebook page are still active.

Pacquiao shrugs off memes, Bieber

MANILA, Philippines – Filipino boxing icon Manny Pacquiao did not take offense over the memes that flooded the Internet following his loss, including those posted by Canadian singer Justin Bieber in his Instagram account.

Upon his arrival at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport on Wednesday morning, Pacquiao told ABS-CBN News that he would just pray for those who made fun of his loss.

“Sabi nga ng kautusan ng Panginoon, pray for those who persecuted you. So we will pray for them, we will pray for them, okay? Patawarin natin sila,” he said.

Several boxing fans were shocked by Pacquiao’s knockout loss to Juan Manuel Marquez on Saturday night (Sunday morning in Manila).

But this also gave way to memes making fun of the loss, some of which were re-posted by Bieber on his Instagram account.




Bieber's posts were accompanied by short write-ups on his feelings about a possible bout between Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr.

“[Mayweather] has nothing to gain fighting Pacqiao. Floyd has never in his professional career lost a fight and Pacqiao lost his last two fights,” he said.

“If Floyd wins it's not that big of a deal cuz it would be his third loss in a row, and if he loses he's gonna ruin his legacy either way there's no big win for Mayweather.. Mayweather is boxing,” he added.

Bieber's posts elicited thousands of comments, with some saying they find no harm in the memes because they are funny.

Other people, however, asked Bieber for respect for Pacquiao and the Filipino people, with the hashtag #RespectThePhilippinesBieber making it to the top trending Twitter topics in the Philippines.

Ban Justin Bieber, says PH lawmaker

A call has been made for Canadian singer Justin Bieber to be declared "persona non grata" in the Philippines for allegedly mocking People's Champ Manny Pacquiao in his Instagram account.

Yacap party-list Rep. Carol Jane Lopez is urging Congress to officially ban the Canadian singer from ever setting foot in the country after he posted allegedly insulting photos of Pacquiao on the Internet.

Lopez also urged the Filipino youth to stop listening to Bieber's songs and to stop going to his concerts. Bieber last held a concert at the SM Mall of Asia on May 2011.

The party-list lawmaker said the series of photos from Bieber about Pacquiao were hurtful to all Filipinos who admire the boxing champ. The photos showed Pacquiao's prostrate figure alongside personalities such as Michael Jackson and Simba, the cartoon lion from The Lion King.

Lopez said Bieber's photos were a personal affront since the Canadian singer is a known supporter of Pacquiao's rival for the pound-for-pound crown, American boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Bieber earlier said Mayweather has nothing to gain from fighting Pacquiao after the Filipino champ lost his last 2 fights.

He later said he does not believe that loyal fans will abandon him for his boxing opinions.

Mayweather earlier urged Pacquiao to bounce back from his defeat to Juan Manuel Marquez.

Pacquiao, on the other hand, said he will pray for Bieber.
