Best time for sex? Ian Veneracion asked

MANILA - Actor Ian Veneracion, who portrays Eduardo Buenavista on the hit primetime series "Pangako Sa 'Yo," was the guest on "Tonight with Boy Abunda" on Friday.

There, he was asked to do "Fast Talk" and answer a series of questions ranging from co-star Jodi Sta. Maria's sexiest quality to more raunchy ones about sex.

The 42-year-old Veneracion also talked about his role in the series and how it changed his life.

"Before I did 'Pangako,' I was already thinking to myself that I'm done with showbiz. I've been doing this my whole life and parang nagkakaroon ako ng mid-life crisis," he admitted.

"So sabi ko, 'I'll just do this last project and maybe explore travelling around the world.' Pero with the success of 'Pangako,' parang it's telling me that it is not up to me and this is the path that I have to take," he added.


Asked about the pressure of working with Sta. Maria, who prior to the series was part of the hit morning series "Be Careful With My Heart," Veneracion confidently said: "It didn't even cross my mind."

Amor Powers' sudden appearance triggers Twitter firestorm

MANILA – "Pangako Sa'Yo" set netizens abuzz again after Amor Powers appeared near the end of the teleserye's episode Monday night.

The hashtag #PSYAngPaglabas was at the top of trending topics on Twitter in the country.

In the episode, Powers (Jodi Sta. Maria) was introduced at the end of a musical play as one of the biggest benefactors of a foundation that helped the less fortunate.

Governor Edurado Buenavista (Ian Veneracion) and his wife Claudia (Angelica Panganiban) were in the audience, as their daughter Lia (Andrea Brillantes) played the lead in the musical.

They were also among the donors of the foundation.

Powers was Buenavista’s girlfriend in the series until the latter’s brother raped Powers, and he was led to believe that the incident was consensual.

Powers returns to the series to exact revenge on the Buenavistas.

Kathryn shares wish as she turns 19

MANILA - Teen star Kathryn Bernardo has a simple wish as she turns 19 this month.

Bernardo, who will celebrate her birthday on March 26, said she only wants to spend some quality time with her friends before taking on another showbiz project.

The actress is the lead star of ABS-CBN's remake of "Pangako Sa 'Yo" along with Daniel Padilla.

"Basta hinihingi ko lang ang oras ng mga kaibigan ko, na ibigay nila 'yung two days na hinihingi ko. Alam mo 'yun, 'yung short vacation ko bago ako mag-back to work," she said.

"Magbi-beach kami, definitely. Tapos may mga gagawin lang siguro doon na activities kasama ang mga kaibigan, so more on bonding talaga. Sobrang excited kami lahat," she added.

When asked about the gift she plans to give to herself on her birthday, Bernardo said: "Siguro walang material things pa. Parang siguro ngayon talaga ay 'yung bakasyon na two days, 'yun ang gift ko sa sarili ko. Kasi 'di madaling pagsama-samahin ang schedule ng mga friends mo dahil may trabaho din sila. Pinayagan naman ako ni Mama so na-excite naman ako."

Preps for 'Pangako Sa 'Yo'

Meanwhile, Bernardo shared that she has been preparing for her role as Yna Macaspac, originally played by Kristine Hermosa, in the remake of "Pangako Sa 'Yo."

"Ngayon pinagku-cooking nila ako for the role. Tapos sina Inang, sinabi nila na magkakaroon kami ng isang workshop session at sasabihin nila kung anong character namin paara alam namin ang character by heart. Sina Ate Jodi ay nag-start na silang mag-taping, actually," she said.

The teen star admitted that she feels both excited and pressured to take on the new role.

"Siyempre, nandoon 'yung pressure, alam natin kung gaano ka-successful at kalakas ang 'Pangako Sa 'Yo' dati. Excited kami at kinakabahan at the same time kung paano ang magiging reaction ng mga tao rito. Pero gagawin namin lahat and, of course, nandiyan naman 'yung directors namin para tulungan kami sa mga characters. Iba naman 'yung mapapanood nila rito," she said.

"Pangako Sa 'Yo" will soon be part of ABS-CBN's Primetime Bida block.
