Sports guarantees have become somewhat farcical but give Ryan Kalil credit, he's putting his words in black and white. Literally.
The Panthers' offensive lineman took out a full-page ad in the Charlotte Observer under the headline "Why the Carolina Panthers will win Super Bowl XLVII" in an open letter to the team's fans.
Kalil, an All-Pro in 2011, has been with the Panthers his entire career as a 2007 second-round pick out of Southern Cal.
According to the Observer, Kalil kept the idea for the ad to himself because he didn’t want to be talked out of doing it.
“It’s a bold statement to make,” Kalil told the Observer.
Especially coming off a 6-10 season.
