PNP insists Rolito Go was abducted

MANILA, Philippines – Despite lingering doubts on the kidnapping of Rolito Go, the Philippine National Police (PNP) on Friday insisted that all pieces of evidence lead to one conclusion: the convicted road rage killer was indeed abducted.

PNP spokesman Chief Supt. Generoso Cerbo said investigators had found weight in the statements of Go and his nephew Clemence Yu that four men, who introduced themselves as National Bureau of Investigation agents, forcibly took them from the New Bilibid Prison compound in Muntinlupa City last Tuesday.

Nonetheless, the PNP said it would still continue its investigation into the incident.

"We will pursue all angles though at this point, pieces of evidence on hand point to abduction," Cerbo said.

Earlier, Go, who is set to be released in June 2013, dismissed claims that the kidnapping incident was fabricated. Suffering from colon cancer and with a colostomy bag attached to his abdomen, Go said that he was too ill to escape prison and live a life on the run.
