MANILA – Although he was reluctant to accept the bout, heavyweight fighter Mark Hunt said he’ll consider Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva as just another fight.
Hunt will be meeting the Brazilian giant at the main event of UFC Fight Night 33 this weekend in a fight that could take the winner close to the UFC heavyweight title.
“The thing is, for this fight, I didn't want to take the fight because we're both [American] Top Team affiliates, but if that's the case I might as well just stop fighting. It's just one of those things,” said Hunt in Bloody Elbow.
Hunt enjoyed a four fight-win streak until he got knocked out by Junior Dos Santos in UFC 160.
The “Super Samoan” hopes a victory over the 6’4”, 260-pound Silva will bring him back to UFC title contention.
“He's just another fighter at the end of the day for me, someone that's in my way,” said Hunt.
