In an interview with entertainment site Push, Eigenmann denied that she is not that kind of person.
“That’s definitely not true because hindi ko naman gagawin 'yun. He wouldn’t stay or he wouldn’t be in my life like this. Hindi pa rin kami magiging ganito kalapit na magkaibigan kung rebound lang,” she said.
The actress said she does not owe anyone an explanation as to the real status of whatever she has with Jackson, adding that those who truly know them understand their “special friendship.”
“Actually that’s one thing that I want to be able to clarify is that I don’t believe that this relationship with Bret, this special friendship that we have, is something that I need to defend because it can speak for itself,” she said.
“Hindi ko naman mapipigilan ang maraming mga tao na hindi boto or hindi naniniwala or hindi siya gusto or hindi ako gusto pero wala tayong magagawa diyan. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions but then what matters is that the people around us who experience us and see us together, they believe that there’s nothing wrong,” she explained.
Eigenmann said she appreciates Jackson not only for respecting her, but also her daughter Ellie.
“Ellie has met him. Actually he’s so kind. He respects the fact that I am a mother and also likes me for that I guess. And so whenever yinayaya niya akong lumabas, ganun, sigurado kasama lagi si Ellie,” she said.
