Facebook Instant Articles gets Android release

After successfully releasing it on Apple Inc's iPhone, social media firm Facebook has rolled out its Instant Articles feature for devices running on Google Android.

Instant Articles means speed, as it allows Facebook users to experience a new feature that loads articles 10 times faster than standard mobile web, making user experience even faster, easier, and more immersive.

ABS-CBN News partnered with Facebook to give its audience a seamless reading experience. A user would know a story from ABS-CBN News is an Instant Article when he or she sees the lightning icon on the upper right portion of the thumbnail.

Instant Articles also offer a rich and interactive experience where stories come to life with autoplay videos, high-resolution images, and audio captions.

It also incorporates interactive maps that highlight where photos are taken.

Media companies can use Instant Articles to publish any type of stories, from breaking news to full feature stories and to make their content distinguishable for the audience.

Over 350 media companies around the world are utilizing Instant Articles and media giant ABS-CBN is a pioneering partner in the Philippines for Facebook.

With the release of Instant Articles on Android, ABS-CBN is able to reach millions of its Facebook followers in the Philippines and abroad, many of whom are on the Google operating system.

ABS-CBN aims to provide its audience with the most up-to-date stories through layered engagement on digital platforms, and Facebook Instant Articles is one of them.
