'Nagloloko': Users report glitch on Facebook, Instagram

MANILA —Facebook and Instagram users in several parts of the world reported that the social network sites were not working properly Wednesday night.

Tracking website DownDetector.com received thousands of reports that images were not loading while others experienced login issues.

It reported over 7,600 outages on Facebook while almost 15,000 outages on Instagram.

Users in the Philippines, Singapore, Europe and America were among those affected by the glitch.

The hashtags #facebookdown and #instagramdown quickly topped Twitter's trending topics worldwide.

In the Philippines, "nagloloko" or not working properly was among the top Twitter trends.

The California-based tech giant, which has a combined usership of 3 billion from both sites, acknowledged the issues in tweets.

"We’re aware that some people are having trouble uploading or sending images, videos and other files on our apps. We're sorry for the trouble and are working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible," Facebook and Instagram wrote on their respective Twitter accounts.
