This popular QC restaurant that once served the Pope is set to close after 37 years

MANILA -- Another popular restaurant has become a casualty of the novel coronavirus pandemic as it ends its 37-year run.

Shangri-La Finest Chinese Cuisine announced on Wednesday that it will cease operations on August 1 "due for the most part to the challenges brought about by the ongoing pandemic."

"Our last day for dine-in and take-out services will be on July 31, 2020," the restaurant said in a Facebook post as it thanked all their patrons and supporters.

It added that the restaurant's management and its employees "will be praying for everyone's safety in this current situation."

In its 37 years of operations, Shangri-La Finest Cuisine has served the likes of Pope John Paul II and the late President Corazon Aquino.
