Multi-million offer for Pia's Miss Universe gown

MANILA – It seems that Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach has gained tremendous popularity that some people are willing to pay millions of pesos for her winning blue gown.

The gown’s designer, Albert Andrada, said he has been offered an eight-figure sum of money for the gown Wurtzbach wore when she was crowned Miss Universe.

“Kinikilabutan ako sa presyo na binibigay sa akin. Masyadong malaki, it’s unbelievable,” he was quoted as saying in an article released by the entertainment website Push on Thursday.

Despite this, Andrada said he wants to keep the gown as the “only souvenir or remembrance that I have from Pia.”

“Siyempre anong mararamdaman ni Pia kung pagbibili ko ‘yan. Siyempre siya rin gusto niya ‘yan makita anytime na pagtanda niya nandiyan pa rin ‘yan,” he said.

When asked for comment about those who attempt to recreate Wurtzbach’s gown, the designer said: “That’s one way of them celebrating Pia kaya that’s fine with me.”

In a previous interview, Andrada said the intricate back design of Wurtzbach’s gown represented the Philippines in many ways.

This is the first time that a Filipino-made gown was worn by a Philippine bet to the Miss Universe pageant. In previous years, Colombian designers provided the outfit.

Lupita Nyong'o's Oscar gown returned by thief via TMZ

LOS ANGELES - The $150,000 Oscar gown worn by actress Lupita Nyong'o that was stolen two days ago was returned on Friday by the thief, who tipped off celebrity news site TMZ.com after finding out that the pearls on the dress were fake.

TMZ said the thief took the Calvin Klein dress from Nyong'o's hotel room on Wednesday after finding the door ajar. The Kenyan actress had worn the dress adorned with 6,000 pearls to Sunday's Academy Awards in one of the most commented looks of the night.

The thief and others removed two pearls from the dress and took them to the Garment District in downtown Los Angeles where they were told they were not real, according to TMZ.

The thief then took the dress back to the London West Hollywood hotel and told TMZ it was in a garment bag inside a trash bag in a bathroom.

TMZ then tipped off the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department in West Hollywood, which was investigating the theft. The website shows grainy footage of an unidentified person opening the bag and finding a white dress.

Sheriff's Department spokeswoman Guillermina Saldana said they were "in the process of confirming" the story.

Anne's see-through gown sends netizens abuzz

MANILA, Philippines -- A photo of Anne Curtis in a sheer gown at a recent gathering of Kapamilya stars has gone viral online, garnering thousands of comments in a matter of hours.

In a photo posted Wednesday on social networking site Facebook, the "It's Showtime" host is seen posing in a partly see-through gown by Filipino designer Francis Libiran.

The dress' see-through material exposed the actress' cleavage and the sides of her thighs up to her waist.

The photo was posted by an unofficial Facebook fan page dedicated to Curtis, and was taken at the Smart Araneta Coliseum last Tuesday at the sidelines of the ABS-CBN Christmas Special concert.

As of writing, the viral photo has been "liked" on the social networking site more than 55,700 times -- a large number compared to the number of "likes" garnered by other photos on the same fan page, which average 4,000.

The photo has also gotten over 2,500 comments. The number of users who have shared the same image -- now over 1,700 -- has multiplied its viral spread on Facebook.

At the Kapamilya Christmas concert last Tuesday, Curtis, 27, appeared on stage alongside her "Kailangan Ko'y Ikaw" co-stars Robin Padilla and Kris Aquino. Angeline Quinto sang the theme song as the three actors interacted before a cheering audience.

On her account on micro-blogging site Twitter -- which is nearing 3.8 million followers -- Curtis thanked Libiran for designing the gown, which is inspired by the hit song "Diamonds" by pop star Rihanna.

The Kapamilya Christmas concert, titled "Liwanag ng Pasko: ABS-CBN Christmas Special" will air on December 15 and 16.
