LOOK: Anthony Bourdain tries Jollibee in PH
Nagmeryenda lang ako, nakita ko pa si Anthony Bourdain sa Jollibee! Mukhang enjoy sya sa chickenjoy!
Posted by Alfredo Lupe on Friday, 11 December 2015
MANILA - Aside from visiting a Korean restaurant in Malate on Thursday, television personality, chef, and best-selling author Anthony Bourdain appeared to have also stopped by a branch of Jollibee.
A photo of the 59-year-old Bourdain eating at the local fast food chain has been circulating online. A Facebook user named Alfredo Lupe posted it on his account with the caption: "Nagmeryenda lang ako, nakita ko pa si Anthony Bourdain sa Jollibee! Mukhang enjoy sya sa chickenjoy!"
This is not the first time that Bourdain was able to eat at Jollibee. Back in 2013, Bourdain visited a Jollibee branch in Los Angeles and tried halo-halo, a menu item he described as "oddly beautiful."
Bourdain's last visit in the country was in 2008 for his Travel Channel show, "No Reservations." During that trip, he made stops in Manila, Pampanga, and Cebu.

No ChickenJoy? Jollibee explains why
MANILA - Jollibee Foods Corp. apologized to its customers on Thursday, after ChickenJoy and other items were unavailable in some branches in Metro Manila.
In a statement, Jollibee Foods vice president for marketing Harvey Ong said a major systems upgrade was the main reason why a number of Jollibee stores in Metro Manila and nearby cities were operating on a limited menu.
"Unfortunately, this change in system has initially affected the delivery schedule of raw materials from our commissary to select stores," he said.
Ong clarified that there is no shortage of chicken.
"We would like to clarify that this is NOT a supply issue or a chicken shortage situation. Rest assured that this is only temporary as we are working round the clock to ensure that all our products – including Chickenjoy, Jolly Spaghetti and Yumburgers – will be made available again in all the affected stores soonest. In fact, some of these stores have already begun offering these Jollibee favorites again," he said.
"We would like to sincerely apologize for this temporary inconvenience, and thank our customers for bearing with us," he added.
Some netizens even created the hashtag #ChickenSad on Twitter when complaining about the lack of ChickenJoy in some Jollibee stores.

'Jollibee has best tasting chicken in Singapore'
MANILA -- Jollibee's chickenjoy was found to be the best among several other brands in Singapore, a simple blind taste test conducted by Yahoo! Singapore showed.
The blind taste test involved a panel of six--Singaporeans, Malaysians, a Filipino and an Indonesian--who were asked to assess chicken dishes from Jollibee, KFC, Popeyes, Texas Chicken and 4Fingers.
Each fried chicken was presented without sauce or logos, and all were bought at the same time from the shops.
Jollibee's chickenjoy got three out of six votes, the highest given to any other fried chicken in the taste test. Jollibee's chicken was found to have the juiciest meat, and the skin was said to be thin and crispy.
The chickens from Texas Chicken, Popeyes, and 4Fingers all got a vote each, while KFC's dish got no vote.
Jollibee in March opened its first store in Singapore amid protests of racism as the shop allegedly only employ Filipinos.
As of end-February this year, Jollibee has 782 stores in the Philippines, 27 in the US, and 67 in Southeast Asia and the Middle East.
