IN PHOTOS: 'PBB' kicks off 10th anniversary edition

MANILA - The iconic "Pinoy Big Brother" (PBB) house opened anew on Saturday, welcoming its new housemates for the 10th anniversary edition of the hit ABS-CBN reality television show.

Seven teen housemates, whose identities were unveiled through various Kapamilya shows over the week, were formally introduced and ushered inside the blue and yellow house for the first episode of "PBB 737."

This batch included Cebu-native Ryan Bacalla, online heartthrob Bailey May, rapper Jimboy Martin, Atenean football player Kenzo Gutierrez, teenage mother Kamille Filoteo, Albay's Barbie Imperial, and Muslim teen Ailah Antopina.

More housemates will be revealed on "ASAP" on Sunday.

For the first challenge of the new season, "Kuya" had Antopina stay hidden inside the "confession room." According to Kuya, the 13-year-old is a "very special housemate" tasked to share insights about her culture to the other housemates.

"Ipakita mo ang kagandahan ng inyong kultura at kabutihan ng inyong pananampalataya," Kuya told Antopina.

The other housemates, meanwhile, were given a physical challenge, wherein they had to complete so that Antopina can formally join the competition.

Throughout the episode, the show's official hashtag #PBB737KickOff were among the top trending topics on Twitter worldwide.

PBB: Meet 'Teen Mama ng Manila'

MANILA - An 18-year-old mother opened up about her reasons for joining the upcoming 10th anniversary edition of "Pinoy Big Brother" (PBB) during a live interview on "Aquino & Abunda Tonight" on Thursday.

Kamille Filoteo, a former member of one of the most popular dance groups in the country, said she joined the reality television show to help her parents, who are both working abroad, and her daughter.

Dubbed as the "Teen Mama ng Manila," she also gamely talked about her mother's attempted suicide after learning of her pregnancy, and how she dealt being ridiculed by both family and friends at such an early age.

"Hindi ko na lang po pinapansin kasi mas nakaka-stress po pag iisipan mo. Mas nagfo-focus na lang po ako doon sa baby," she said.

Besides Filoteo, four other housemates have been revealed, namely, Cebu-native Ryan Bacalla, online heartthrob Bailey May, 13-year-old Muslim Aila Antopino, and rapper Jimboy Martin.

More will be introduced in the coming days, leading up to the Saturday premiere of the hit reality TV competition.

'Pinoy Big Brother' returning for 10th year

MANILA - "Pinoy Big Brother" (PBB), the pioneering reality television series in the Philippines, will return for a new season to mark its 10th year, a televised teaser announced on Wednesday.

The ABS-CBN program, which is based on the Endemol-owned format that premiered in Netherlands in 1999, has so far produced 12 "big winners" in the Philippines since August 2005.

Apart from the regular editions, which feature housemates 18 years old and above, celebrity and teen editions were also held in the past decade.

Among the past winners are Kim Chiu, James Reid, Ejay Falcon and Melai Cantiveros. Notable former housemates include Gerald Anderson, Sam Milby, Bianca Gonzalez, Jane Oineza, John Prats and Rustom Padilla.

"PBB's" latest iteration, which was won by Daniel Matsunaga, marked a first across franchises of "Big Brother" internationally, as it combined adult, teen, and celebrity housemates in one season.

No further details about the 2015 season have been announced.
