Ruffa's daughter has classy response to netizen for calling out her bikini photo
MANILA – The daughter of Ruffa Gutierrez had a classy response to a netizen who called her out supposedly for showing too much skin in one of her social media posts.
The Instagram user was commenting on Lorin’s photo where she is flaunting her summer-ready figure in a two-piece swimsuit.
“Itago mo yang katawan mo iha… Dapat may pinaglalaanan yan na special na tao. Wag mong ipagkalandakan,” the netizen said.
Not having any of it, Lorin said her body doesn’t belong to anyone else apart from her and that means she can show it off if she wants to as long as her family is okay with it.
She then went on to say how girls should be allowed to feel comfortable in their own skin regardless of what other people say.
“Girls should be able to choose whether they want to be more conservative or showy depending on what they feel comfortable with, not for a ‘special na tao’ because that special person, whoever they may be, doesn’t own me and should be ok with me being confident in my own skin. If they aren’t, then they aren’t special to me,” she said.
“I will not make ‘tago my katawan’ for anyone else and will continue to do what makes me happy and confident and I encourage everyone else to do the same, whatever that may mean for them,” she added.

Sharon denies endorsing weight loss pills
MANILA – Actress Sharon Cuneta cried foul on social media after a number of online advertisements for weight loss supplements used her name and image without her consent.
In a series of Facebook posts, Cuneta denied that she endorses weight loss pills, saying she has never used such products.
The mother of actress KC Concepcion went on to say that she has only been on a “doctor-supervised diet.”
She then urged her fans and followers to not believe in these ads which, she noted, also featured other local celebrities.
In an open letter posted on Facebook last year, Cuneta opened up about her problems with weight, noting “the demands of this industry I move around in.”
The actress, who hosted the first season of “The Biggest Loser Pinoy Edition” before leaving ABS-CBN in 2011, said she would like to be fit again.
Last year, actress Ruffa Gutierrez was featured in a series of ads about African diet pills, which turned out to be a hoax.
“Do not believe fake, paid advertisements saying that I lost weight due to African diet pills. It’s a lie!” Gutierrez said in a statement on her official website at the time.

Ruffa taking African diet pills? Belo reacts
MANILA - Belo Medical Group clarified on Monday that a Facebook post alleging that its endorser, actress Ruffa Gutierrez, has been fired after revealing her supposed slimming regimen is a hoax.
The sponsored post from a certain FitFirst Magazine has been circulating since last week and appears to link to an article about Gutierrez's supposed statement.
The link uses a photo composite of Gutierrez in a file "TV Patrol" interview and Belo Medical Group founder Dr. Vicki Belo, with the title: "Ruffa Gutierrez FIRED By Vicki Belo After She Revealed The Truth Behind Her WElGHTLOSS".
The post quotes Gutierrez as saying, pertaining to her weight loss regimen: "I am sick of lying to everyone about this. People ask me about this all the time!"
The hoax alleges that Gutierrez has admitted using so-called African Diet Pills, and that her treatments at Belo had little to do with her weight loss.

However, in a statement on her official website, Gutierrez said: "Do not believe fake, paid advertisements saying that I lost weight due to African diet pills. It's a LIE!"
The 40-year-old actress explained that she has been availing of different services of Belo Medical Group, in addition to eating healthy and exercising in order to lose weight.
In a statement given to ABS-CBN News, Belo Medical Group similarly belied the viral post and warned the public to "check the accuracy and legitimacy of certain advertisements promoting beauty and slimming products that are claiming to be effective and used by both local and international celebrities."
The company explained that several false advertisements using images of Belo endorsers as well as Dr. Belo have been brought to its attention in the past months.
Referring to the viral advertisement showing Gutierrez, and the allegation that the actress has been fired as one of its endorsers, it added: "Belo Medical Group denounces such malicious news. Ruffa is still our endorser and that she regularly visits our clinics for her beauty and slimming procedures."
