This is Sharon Cuneta's favorite bag at the moment
MANILA – No, it’s not Hermes.
“The Voice of the Philippines” coach Sharon Cuneta showed her favorite designer bag at the moment as part of her efforts to regularly reach out to her fans.
Saying she could not think of anything more to share on social media, Cuneta posted a photo of a purple crocodile bag from Louis Vuitton that she uses “more than any of my Hermes.”
“When I saw it in Milan, Italy a few years ago, my heart melted and I couldn’t leave the store,” she recalled.
“It’s not as heavy as a Birkin,” she added, referring to the classic Hermes handbag that is popular among celebrities today. “Just the right weight, empty or full.”
Cuneta did not mention the exact price of her favorite bag, but she did suggest that it is quite expensive.
“Cost me a concert and a half’s talent fees plus three of my toes and one whole leg! Pamana na ang mga ganito,” she wrote.
But the “Megastar” was careful not to offend anyone with her post, saying: “Let me know if you like me posting stuff like this. I don’t want to be misinterpreted as making yabang kasi. This is just my life, guys – I think it’s no secret naman. Born this way eh.”
“Just let me know, okay? ‘Cause I might be feeling a bit uncomfortable and I won’t do it if people take it the wrong way. I do love my stuff. That’s all,” she ended.

Jeremy, Isabela of 'Voice Teens' open to venture into acting
MANILA – Isabela Vinzon has no regrets even if she failed to clinch the very first “The Voice Teens” title on Sunday night.
Vinzon, who is from Bamboo’s team, finished second, with Jona Soquite from Sarah Geronimo’s team winning the competition.
In an interview with ABS-CBN News after the show, Vinzon said all of them were already champions during the finals.
“But Jona, there’s something special about her and I think she deserves the title and coach Sarah, congratulations to her. Tinuruan niya po ng maayos si Jona,” she said.
While she did not win, Vinzon said she is still overwhelmed by the fact that she reached the Top 4.
“After the bashing, I focused on the positive feedbacks, that’s why hindi ko na po masyadong napapansin iyon. Hindi naman po masyadong hadlang ang mga bashers sa akin dahil mas marami pong nagmamahal at sumusuporta. Unexpected po na makakaabot po ako hanggang dito. I am so blessed,” she said.
Now that the competition is over, does she plan to follow the footsteps of her father and join showbiz too?
“Balak ko po sana pumasok sa acting at lawakan ko pa po ang kaya kong gawin sa showbiz. Gusto ko pong ituloy-tuloy ito,” she said.
Meanwhile, Jeremy Glinoga from Sharon Cuneta’s team, also agreed that Soquite deserved to win.
“Jona did a great job. I am so happy she won and I wish her the best in the future. I know God has a plan for each and every one of us so even though I didn’t win, I’m still pretty happy,” he said.
Like Vinzon, Glinoga is also open to venture into acting. The 17-year-old from California also said he would love to stay in the Philippines to explore more showbiz opportunities.
“Malalaman ko soon [kung ano ang mga puwede kong gawin]. We’ll see,” he said.
He also took the opportunity to thank Cuneta for all the mentoring that she did.
“Coach Sharon, even though I didn’t win, maraming salamat for all the support. Thank you for telling me to keep my feet on the ground. It feels like you’re a second mom to me. Thank you for caring for me like you’ve always done,” he said.
Glinoga finished in fourth place on “The Voice Teens.”

Team Sharon's Jeremy charms his way to 'Voice Teens' finals
MANILA -- Sharon Cuneta is betting on Jeremy Glinoga to become the first winner from her team when he represents Team Sharon at the grand finals of “The Voice Teens” next week.
During Sunday’s live episode, Glinoga got a higher average score (99%) compared to his rival Christy Lagapa (90.59%), from the combined votes of the viewers and Cuneta's score.
Glinoga, a Filipino-American teenager who comes from a family who idolizes Cuneta, impressed viewers as he performed Harry Styles’ “Sign of the Times.”
“You owned that stage tonight. I am so proud of you. Puro ballads ang ginagawa mo for us. When you said that you were gonna do this, sabi ko medyo this has kind of a stronger beat, a higher energy and I said it’s a big stage,” Cuneta told the teen singer.
“I was a little scared but you owned the stage tonight. You gave me everything I asked for. I am so proud of you. From the bottom of my heart, I believe you belong up there,” she added.
Lagapa, on the other hand, sang the "Evita" ballad “Don’t Cry For Me Argetina,” which was likewise praised by Cuneta because she still was able to deliver a good performance despite nursing an illness.
Glinoga will be competing against Isabela Vinzon from Team Bamboo; Jona Soquite from Team Sarah; and Mica Becerro from Team Lea.

Sharon Cuneta selling LA mansion for $2.2M: report
MANILA - Sharon Cuneta may have talked about retiring in California, but that may not be for some time.
A report from Fox News dated December 28 said the 49-year-old Cuneta is selling her mansion in Los Angeles for $2.2 million, or more than P103 million.
Fox News described the property as "6,610-square-foot estate hits a high note with a grand marble entry, custom library, chef's kitchen with a breakfast room, formal living room with fireplace, family room, and numerous bedrooms."
"Entertainment options abound. Step outside to an expansive lawn, relax under a covered patio, cook up a meal on the grill, or take a dip in the pool and spa, which include a waterfall."
In 2014, Cuneta said the Los Angeles mansion, which she reportedly bought six years ago, was her home away from home, and her "happy place."
However, that was before Cuneta re-signed with the Kapamilya network, and was given a spot as a celebrity judge for the last two seasons of "Your Face Sounds Familiar."

Michael Pangilinan and Karla Estrada as Luther Vandross and Mariah Carey
MANILA - Singer Michael Pangilinan and Karla Estrada charmed the jurors as they transformed into Luther Vandross and Mariah Carey on Sunday's episode of "Your Face Sounds Familiar."
Pangilinan and Estrada performed "Endless Love" as Vandross and Carey, respectively.
"Si Luther Vandross, isa sa pinakapaborito ko na singers, at alam ko lahat ng style niya. Nakita at narinig ko lahat 'yun. Congratulations," Jed Madela told Pangilinan, adding that it was one of the singer's best performances.
Sharon Cuneta, for her part, lauded Pangilinan for being able to match Estrada's performance. "He has to level up to Karla, and Michael, you did not disappoint us. You really did it," she added.
"Pinahirapan mo kaming lahat ngayon kasi maganda ang ginawa mo," Gary Valenciano said.
For this week's performances, this season's celebrity performers sang a duet with the contestants from the previous season.

LOOK: Sharon reconciles with Piolo
MANILA - All's well that ends well.
Sharon Cuneta on Thursday night took to Facebook to share her feelings about her reconciliation with Piolo Pascual, whom she had a shaky relationship after the actor broke up with her daughter KC Concepcion.
"I was in my wheelchair amongst friends and I didn't see him (Pascual) coming," wrote Cuneta. "He hugged me tight and when I looked at his face, I hugged him back so tight."
The 49-year-old Cuneta, who has admitted to have said words against Pascual, went on to describe him as someone she had hurt and a "son" that she will continue to love.
"I know your apology was sincere. Please know that mine was, too. I think of your mama and feel very badly about how she must have felt, because she too, is a mother like me," she continued.
"I am sorry that you and my baby had to end your relationship, and I am sorry for how very publicly I made my emotions known."
"For what it's worth, I was not that kind of person. Was not, am not, and hopefully never will be. I believe you know that in your heart," she added.
Cuneta concluded the note by uploading a photo of her and Pascual -- one wherein the two shared an embrace and another where she gave the actor a kiss on his cheek.
"Thank you, Lord Jesus for forgiveness, restored friendships, and love. Most of all, thank you that my Kristina (Concepcion) is fine now and happy. And thank you, dear Piolo, that I can still call you my son no matter what. God bless you. Love you!"

Sharon Cuneta hospitalized, asks for prayers
MANILA -- Sharon Cuneta is currently confined at a hospital and is asking her supporters to pray for her.
On Tuesday, the 49-year-old Cuneta revealed in a Facebook post that she has been suffering from persistent cough for around three weeks, and had to take steroids for her performance in "ASAP" last August 9. (WATCH: Sharon back on 'ASAP,' sings 'Tayong Dalawa')
"I went on antibiotics for two of those three weeks, and I didn't get better at all," she shared. "I am always tired even when I'm not doing anything, also always dizzy, and yesterday I finally...went to see my E.N.T. at Cardinal Santos. Well now I am confined at St. Luke's because my doc warned me that I am contagious."
She added: "I've been on an I.V. of antibiotics since I got here yesterday, but my cough is still weird. Weird for lack of a better word -- and also really weird because I've never had a cough like this before. It's a 'hard' cough. It is mostly quiet, but when it hits, it's like a full-on violent attack and I actually become weak from coughing too much. And my heart...it is what I am most worried about."
"Please, may I request you all to pray for me? I miss my babies so much and want to be nowhere else but home right at this moment."
On another Facebook post, Cuneta shared that she had to take IV antibiotics.
"Fungal infection pa. Ngee. Longer to heal but at least it's being addressed na. Low albumin (Been dieting kasi. Ayan, pause na naman," she said.
"So they're adding a vitamin with that and proteins to my I.V.. Please pray that whatever else isn't supposed to be in my body goes away na. Love you all. Thanks so much. God is good! Pulmonologist next," she added.

Jay R brings sexy back as Justin Timberlake
MANILA -- RNB singer Jay R showed off his dance moves as he transformed into international pop star Justin Timberlake on "Your Face Sounds Familiar."
Jay R kicked off Saturday's episode with a performance of Timberlake's hit song "Sexy Back."
A constant top scorer, Jay R earned praises from the judges for his performance. All judges noted that unlike his previous performances, the singer is now in his "comfort zone."
"This is your music, this is your sound, this is your groove, 'di ba? Since ikaw ang front-runner ngayon, we just want to tell you that we're going to be more critical sa'yo, mas mataas ang expectations namin sa'yo...so now if you ask me, you did. Congratulations," Jed Madela said.
"This is the first time na nakita kita sa video na pinapawisan. I feel na kahit comfort zone niya, it was a challenge for you pa rin. I think the challenge also was how do you erase the voice of Jay-R, dahil 'yun ang style mo eh, and have the style of Justin Timberlake come to the front. So even if you did 'Sexy Back', you brought that sexiness to the front, and you did it in a great way, my friend," Gary Valenciano added.
"I guess because Justin Timberlake is Justin Timberlake, parang dancing to him is second nature eh, pero everything else, Jay R, 'yung steps niya nakuha mo to think na hindi ka naman talaga sanay sa choreo. The voice, kuhang-kuha mo, 'yun lang siguro ang hinahanap ko. Siguro kasi we're medyo a little more strict now, gusto ko ng second nature pa pero, kuhang-kuha nevertheless," Sharon Cuneta said.
Jay R is currently the show's top scorer, with 158 points.

How Sharon Cuneta lost over 40 pounds
MANILA – Sharon Cuneta revealed she lost more than 40 pounds since she started dieting because she wanted to look her best when she makes her TV comeback.
Cuneta, however, said in a press conference on Monday that she is still trying to lose some more weight to achieve her "bold star" figure.
“You cannot believe how big I became. I had no work. Siguro I lost a little over 40 pounds from the beginning but I have several more to go bago ko ma-fulfill 'yung pagiging bold star ko,” she said in jest. “So much happened so parang just when you think it’s over, meron na namang bago.”
Admitting that she is not fond of going to the gym, Cuneta said it is hard for her to lose weight.
“I am still trying to lose 15 more pounds and to try to exercise. Honestly, I am not fond of exercising. My favorite lang is the treadmill. I’m a multi-tasker. By doing the treadmill, I can watch a show and hindi ako nagwa-waste ng time. Not that exercising is a waste of time pero 'yung hitting two birds with one stone,” she explained.
Cuneta said she also watches what she eats.
In an open letter to her fans in August last year, Cuneta thanked those who expressed their support after she bared her frustrations, including problems with her weight.
"Besides my size, I have long been back to being 'me,' maybe a different me, but a stronger, kinder, more considerate and more appreciative, maybe even a little wiser me than before. And definitely a lot more grateful," Cuneta wrote in the post.
"I think I have stayed fat because my size has been overshadowed and overpowered by my personal happiness. And it's true that that just may be one of the best things I can take away from this -- because that can only mean that I have had my priorities straight! I have a wonderful family that is not just intact but loving, and when all the temporary brightness fades around me, I know that they are the ones who will still be there, even if everyone else leaves. Around here, right now, I am a happy wife and mommy. And THESE, my friends, are what have helped to keep me real. And made me very, very happy and fulfilled," Cuneta added.
Cuneta, who hosted the first season of "The Biggest Loser Pinoy Edition" before she left ABS-CBN, also further opened up about being fat.
"I just do not like being big and fat because of the demands of this industry I move around in. And also, I have always enjoyed wearing my kind of clothes (too basic and plain, maybe a bit boring for TV! But pretty, pretty clothes, as far as I'm concerned), and I obviously cannot wear them because they don't make them in my present size. I like being at my ideal weight because I have had to face health issues and I don't ever want to go through anything like that again (and you don't know all of it!)," she said.

Sharon to play Napoles in comeback film?
MANILA - Megastar Sharon Cuneta denied Saturday that her comeback film will be based around the life of alleged pork barrel scam mastermind Janet Lim Napoles.
In a Facebook post, Cuneta dismissed rumors suggesting that she will portray the Napoles in an upcoming biopic. She also denied that her daughter, KC Concepcion, will be playing the role of Jeane Napoles.
"Why is there a rumor going around that my comeback movie will be based on the Janet Lim Napoles story, and with KC playing the role of her daughter?" she wrote.
Napoles is currently detained for allegedly diverting millions in pork barrel funds to bogus non-government organizations.
"No one has spoken to me about this, and so it is totally untrue," Cuneta added. "I already have a comeback project waiting, and with a company that has my full trust and respect."
The veteran actress earlier made headlines after she announced her departure from TV5.
"I am going to drop clues every now and then as to the things I will be working on which will start sooner than you think!" she said at the time.
In 2012, Sharon signed a reported record-breaking P1-billion contract with the Manny V. Pangilinan-owned network.
She hosted her own talk show entitled "Kasama Mo, Kapatid," and became a co-host of a musical variety show "The Mega and the Songwriter" alongside Ogie Alcasid.
She also starred in the comedy series "Madam Chairman," which premiered on 2013. It was her first TV series in 35 years. The show was cancelled by the network.

Sharon denies endorsing weight loss pills
MANILA – Actress Sharon Cuneta cried foul on social media after a number of online advertisements for weight loss supplements used her name and image without her consent.
In a series of Facebook posts, Cuneta denied that she endorses weight loss pills, saying she has never used such products.
The mother of actress KC Concepcion went on to say that she has only been on a “doctor-supervised diet.”
She then urged her fans and followers to not believe in these ads which, she noted, also featured other local celebrities.
In an open letter posted on Facebook last year, Cuneta opened up about her problems with weight, noting “the demands of this industry I move around in.”
The actress, who hosted the first season of “The Biggest Loser Pinoy Edition” before leaving ABS-CBN in 2011, said she would like to be fit again.
Last year, actress Ruffa Gutierrez was featured in a series of ads about African diet pills, which turned out to be a hoax.
“Do not believe fake, paid advertisements saying that I lost weight due to African diet pills. It’s a lie!” Gutierrez said in a statement on her official website at the time.

Sharon's mother, KC's grandma dies at 79
MANILA - Former beauty queen and actress Elaine Cuneta, the mother of veteran actress Sharon Cuneta, passed away on Wednesday. She was 79.
Granddaughter KC Concepcion broke the news on her Twitter account. She wrote: "Hi. I just lost the love of my life today. My Mita [Elaine] will forever be the BEST GRANDMA EVER. She will forever be with me. I love you, my Mita."
According to Concepcion, her grandmother has been hospitalized for nearly two months and was set to undergo surgery today, November 6. The actress revealed that her grandmother had to be confined at the hospital's intensive care unit.
"My grandma will forever be my inspiration. She loved life, gave us all beautiful adventures. She knew me more than I knew myself. #SuperLola," Concepcion wrote shortly after her initial post.
Concepcion, who has been very vocal about her closeness to her grandmother, also shared a photo of her grandmother on her Instagram account with the caption: "I will miss you laughing this much, this way. I shared so many fun times with you that I will recreate forever. You are my sunshine, Mita."
Concepcion credited the elder Cuneta as the reason she joined show business, knowing how she loves seeing her granddaughter perform, whether on stage or on TV.
Concepcion also shared that when she was still a young girl, her grandmother would always remind her to take care of her when she gets old.

Sharon Cuneta opens up about being fat
MANILA -- After her public confession that she is undergoing a mid-life crisis, veteran actress Sharon Cuneta on Thursday assured her fans that she is "feeling much better now."
In her official Facebook account, Cuneta, 48, thanked those who expressed their support after she bared her frustrations, including problems with her weight, in an open letter last Monday.
"Besides my size, I have long been back to being 'me,' maybe a different me, but a stronger, kinder, more considerate and more appreciative, maybe even a little wiser me than before. And definitely a lot more grateful," Cuneta wrote in a new post.
Cuneta, who hosted the first season of "The Biggest Loser Pinoy Edition" before she left ABS-CBN for the No. 3 network TV5, also further opened up about being fat.
The mother of Kapamilya star KC Concepcion also said she would like to be fit again.
"This is not to say that fat is necessarily unhealthy or ugly. It is just that it is not something that I am used to being, and how I look now is not how I see my real self. I was not always big, so I guess it's okay to say that I would like to go back to how I was before, at least size-wise. BUT, I know now that there are other things that I can still do, in spite of, or maybe even because of my present weight and appearance!" she said.
Cuneta also teased that she has "some surprises" for her fans.
"In fact, some may be coming up much sooner than you think. Very, very soon," she said, promising to keep her followers updated on social media.
Glimmer of hope
For psychologist Randy Dellosa, who worked with the actress on "The Biggest Loser Pinoy Edition," Cuneta open letter suggests "a glimmer of hope."
Although the lengthy post might appear like cry for help, Dellosa told ABS-CBN reporter Mario Dumaual that it's actually a sign that Cuneta is trying to "pick herself up again."
Dellosa also gave his unsolicited advice to the actress-host, saying that aside from "some more coaching on how to keep herself trim," Cuneta also needs to unload psychological and emotional baggage.
"'Yung weight issue eh sometimes comes from psychological issues. So medyo mahirap mag-focus lang sa pagti-trim down sa weight issues dahil posibleng sintomas lang 'yon ng psychological o emotional baggage niya. So she has to focus now on getting rid or unloading the emotional baggage para ma-unload din 'yung physical baggage niya,” the psychologist said.
Asked if Cuneta needs to undergo therapy, Dellosa replied: "Therapy is a good thing kasi it helps you confront eh, to face who you are. Then you realize this is the direction I want to take. So therapy is good for anybody and it's also good for Sharon Cuneta.”
Dellosa also gave his message to those who are in the same situation as the veteran actress.
"Siguro we can get some inspiration from Sharon Cuneta. She hit rock bottom. From ‘mega,’ she became ‘nega,’ nag-meltdown siya. Emo mode siya dati, pero now she's realizing there's hope pala after all if I will just work on it then I’ll be on track again,” he said.

Sharon, Gabby have nothing against Paulo Avelino
MANILA – Sharon Cuneta and Gabby Concepcion have nothing against Paulo Avelino after the actor admitted that he is currently dating their daughter, actress KC Concepcion.
In two separate interviews with “Buzz ng Bayan” aired on Sunday, both said they are not going to intervene with their daughter’s love life as long as KC is happy.
“Ay ayoko makialam! Pero okay lang sa akin basta masaya si KC. 'Yun lang,” Cuneta said.
As for Gabby, he said: “Basta kung sino ang mamahalin mo, at mahal mo okay sa akin yun. Basta ang importante doon, naipapakita nila ang concern nila sa isa’t isa.”
Gabby added that he likes people who are respectful and kind.
“Binati niya ako. It doesn’t matter [kung nagpapalakas], ang importante magalang siyang tao. Gusto ko 'yung mga taong ganun, mabait, magalang and marunong rumespeto,” he said.
Following Avelino’s admission on national television two weeks ago, KC clarified on her Twitter account that she is not exclusively dating the actor.
“Hi. So... I am not dating anyone EXCLUSIVELY. At least not yet! Just wanted to clear the air! Goodnight, Philippines,” she said.
KC then posted another tweet after several minutes confirming that she is seeing the “Honesto” actor but is still single as of the moment.
“To those asking: Yes @mepauloavelino & I enjoy each others company, yes we spend time, but nothing serious right now! I am still single,” she said.
Avelino, on the other hand, said he did not intend to make it appear that he and KC are already serious with each other.
“Like what I’ve said in the interview, we’re dating. Dating with me is having dinner, talking -- nothing more than that,” he said.

Sharon sets concerts in California with KC
MANILA, Philippines -- Veteran actress-singer Sharon Cuneta may have taken a break from television but this doesn't mean she is totally inactive in showbiz.
According to Cuneta's daughter, actress-host KC Concepcion, her mother will be having a concert this May 25 and May 26 in San Francisco, California.
"I will be guesting in her shows so we will be in States together," Concepcion said in "KrisTV" on Thursday.
Last February, Cuneta announced that she is taking a break from television.
However, the 47-year-old Cuneta denied that her break had something to do with speculations spreading at the time that she wants to return to ABS-CBN.
Cuneta signed up as a talent of TV5 in late 2011 for a reported P1-billion five-year contract. Before transferring to the No. 3 network, Cuneta was an ABS-CBN talent for over two decades.

KC intimidated by mother's singing talent
MANILA, Philippines -- She may have recorded albums several albums since her debut "a.k.a. Cassandra" came out in 2008. She even scored hits such as "Not Like the Movies." But actress-host admitted she is really not that comfortable singing.
Appearing on "KrisTV" aired on Tuesday, Concepcion told host Kris Aquino that she is really intimated by her mother, veteran singer-actress Sharon Cuneta.
"Siyempre I watched my mom growing up. She would always have concerts. Parang nakakahiya lang. Kasi noong time na 'yon kapag katabi ko siya kumakanta din ako parang (nakakahiya)," Concepcion confessed.
Concepcion said will try to build up her confidence when it comes to singing.
"Nasha-shy ako. Confidence lang ang kailangan diyan. Sige because of you. ...dahil na-encouraged ako sige na, promise ko na yan sa 'iyo," Concepcion told Aquino, who encouraged her guest co-host to continue performing.
Currently, Concepcion is busy taping for the upcoming series "Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala," previously titled "Against All Odds," with Judy Ann Santos.

Sharon's petition vs Bandera editors junked
The Supreme Court (SC) reinstated the ruling of a Mandaluyong City Regional Trial Court (RTC) that dismissed the libel case filed by singer-actress Sharon Cuneta against the editor and associate editor of tabloid newspaper, Bandera.
In a 19-page decision by the 3rd Division penned by Associate Justice Diosdado Peralta released to the media on Thursday, the high court reversed the Court of Appeals (CA) in giving the green light for the lower court to push through with the trial of Lito Bautista and Jimmy Alcantara.
The high court ruled that the actress “took a procedural misstep, and the view she is advancing is erroneous” because it should have been the Office of the Solicitor General (OSG), not her, who should have appealed the lower court's decision. The high court said the petition before the appellate court should have been dismissed on this basis alone.
“[I]n criminal cases, the acquittal of the accused or the dismissal of the case against him can only be appealed by the Solicitor-General, acting on behalf of the State…The capability of the private complainant to question such dismissal or acquittal is limited only to the civil aspect of the case.
“Respondent [Cuneta] lacked the personality or legal standing to question the trial court’s order because it is only the OSG who can bring actions on behalf of the State in criminal proceedings, before the Supreme Court and CA," the decision read.
The high court pointed out that the petition filed before the appellate court questioned the criminal aspect of the RTC order, not its civil aspect.
Cuneta sued Bautista, Alcantara and writer Pete Ampoloquio for an article written by Ampoloquio for Bandera in 2001. Cuneta alleged that the article maligned her reputation by claiming that she had treated a supporter of her husband, Sen. Francis Pangilinan, badly.
