South Koreans took out their water guns over the weekend to beat the summer heat.

Thousands gathered in downtown Seoul equipped with their weapons for the Water Gun Festival.

The festival aims to make summertime more bearable amid the Korea Meteorological Administration's heatwave advisories hoisted all over the country.
