La Salle frustrates UST, forces winner-take-all

MANILA, Philippines – De La Salle University (DLSU) foiled University of Sto. Tomas in Game 2, 77-70, to force a rubber match in their best-of-three UAAP men’s title showdown on Saturday.

The Archers dominated the boards to bounce back from their Game 1 loss to the Tigers last Wednesday.

UST, which edged La Salle in Game 1, 73-72, is seeking to become the first fourth seeded team to win the UAAP men’s basketball crown.

The Tigers swept top-seeded National University (NU) in two games to forge a title showdown against the Archers, who eliminated Far Eastern University in the other semis pairing.

Game 3 is set to take place on Saturday, October 12, at the Mall of Asia Arena.
