LOOK: Glowing Bangs Garcia flaunts baby bump

MANILA – She is 21 weeks pregnant with her second child.

And before she begins her third trimester, Bangs Garcia took to Instagram to share photos that showed off her growing baby bump.

In her posts, the actress looked gorgeous even if she decided to keep it simple by wearing in a floral two-piece bikini just inside her home.

“It’s this time of my life again. My first four months hadn’t been as smooth as my first pregnancy in 2017. So, let me begin my first pregnant selfie this time at five months,” she wrote in the caption.

It was on Valentine’s Day when Garcia first announced that she's pregnant with her second child with husband Lloydi Birchmore.

Garcia first gave birth back in December 2017, a year after she and Birchmore tied the knot in a series of ceremonies that included a civil wedding in England and a private church one.

Birchmore is half-British.

Bangs Garcia shows cleavage in FHM comeback

MANILA -- A more confident and "ripe" Bangs Garcia has returned on the cover of FHM, three years since she last posed for the men's magazine.

Unveiled Friday on FHM Philippines' official website, the magazine's October 2013 cover shows the 26-year-old actress wearing black underwear and a leather jacket, which showed her cleavage.

Garcia debuted as an FHM cover girl in its May 2009 issue. This was followed by another cover appearance on the same magazine in March 2010.

"Those three years made me ripe. Mas hinog na ako ngayon, mas confident," Garcia was quoted as saying by FHM, referring to the span of time before making a comeback on the magazine.

"Mentally, mas marami na akong natutunan. Mas marami na akong experiences. Also, wala na 'yung baby fats—'yun ang napansin ko," she said.

For her FHM feature, Bangs was photographed by lensman Xander Angeles.

According to the cover write-up on FHM's website, Bangs is looking to be more known as "Valerie Garcia," her real name.

As "Bangs," the actress last appeared on the ABS-CBN afternoon drama "Kung Ako'y Iiwan Mo" and the horror film "Shake, Rattle & Roll 14" in 2012.

Bangs Garcia gets first title role in indie film

MANILA – While she has been absent from TV screens for quite a while, actress Bangs Garcia has her hands full doing independent films.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News on Monday, Garcia said she just finished shooting her fifth independent film, "Lauriana."

“This is my fifth indie but first title role. Different siya because it’s my most daring character that I have ever portrayed and by far most mature also. Marami akong ginawa dito na hindi ko pa nagawa sa ibang films kasi ito very extreme, and based on a true story pa,” she said.

Asked what she meant by “most daring,” the actress said: “I can’t get into details. Sa love scenes, binigay ko lang ng hinigi ni direk. I went as far as I can. Nag-step up na ako acting-wise.”

Garcia said the movie’s plot revolves around an ambitious domestic woman who falls in love with a soldier thinking he could help her improve her life only to become a victim of domestic violence.

“This film could be an advocacy for women’s rights. 'Yung bata na kasama namin, he portrays a very important character also kasi maraming aral na mapupulot sa film naming,” she said.

Aside from “Lauriana,” which will be shown in SM Theaters nationwide starting September 11, Garcia said she also has another upcoming independent film with Gerald Anderson and Jake Cuenca.

Asked why she’s more into independent movies lately, Garcia said: “I don’t know, marami lang talagang nag-offer lately and I think it’s a good way to improve my acting kasi mas maganda na nahahasa ako sa craft ko.”

She added: “For love also, kasi when you say indie, hindi din ganoon kalaki ang budget. Pero in terms of acting, mas nahahasa ka.”

Bangs Garcia cries, fears losing brother

MANILA, Philippines -- An emotional Bangs Garcia opened up to "Showbiz Inside Report" on her relationship with her younger brother, whose condition, she fears, may cut short their time as a family.

In an interview with the entertainment talk show aired Saturday, the Kapamilya actress pointed to her brother Javriel as her motivation behind being in showbusiness.

Endearingly called "Ayi" by his family, Garcia's brother, 23, is with Down syndrome.

"Sabi nila, anytime daw kasi, pwede raw siya mawala. Everytime I get to be with him, I see to it na sobrang happy siya," said Garcia, who turned emotional during the interview.

While the "Kung Ako'y Iiwan Mo" star lives in Manila, her family, including Ayi, are based in Davao.

"'Yun ang kinakatakutan ko. Hindi ko ma-imagine 'yung life without him, kasi sobrang mahal ko 'yung kapatid ko," added Garcia, who is third of four siblings.

According to the 25-year-old actress, she was initially motivated to join showbiz to help with her family's expenses. She recalled her being cast in the action series "Palos" as a blessing, as it was then, in 2008, when her father's leather manufacturing business had started to decline.

Garcia's thriving showbiz career prompted her to be based in Manila. This meant spending less time with Ayi.

"He's very, very sweet, palagi syaing nag-a-'I love you' sa 'kin. Sa 'kin siya parati sumusunod, sobrang mahal na mahal niya ako," she said.

"Na sa Davao siya eh, so everytime  na nandito siya sa Manila, lahat ng gusto niya sinusunod ko, binibigay ko, kasi minsan ko lang siya nakakasama," Garcia added.

This Christmas, the actress shared, she will bring Ayi to Hong Kong Disneyland -- his first trip out of the country.

"I think that's the reason why I'm in showbiz, why I'm breathing right now," the actress said, referring to Ayi and their family.

"I think 'yun 'yung number one priority ko. Number one si Ayi," she added.
