It's official! Jennifer Lopez, A-Rod are engaged

NEW YORK - Jennifer Lopez and retired baseball great Alex Rodriguez have been one of the most glam celebrity couples in recent years. Fans, get ready: a J-Rod wedding is on the cards.

Lopez and Rodriguez confirmed on Instagram late Saturday that they are engaged.

Both posted a picture of their hands at sunset, with Lopez's enormous diamond ring. 

While the multi-hyphenated singer-actress-dancer-producer only captioned the pic with heart emojis, Rodriguez went a bit farther, writing in lower-case letters: "she said yes."

Lopez, 49, and Rodriguez, 43, have been a couple for about two years. 

Lopez, currently the executive producer and judge on NBC reality dance competition show "World of Dance," is set to go on tour later this year across North America. She wrapped up a Vegas residency in 2018.

She has been married three times: to Ojani Noa, back-up dancer Cris Judd, and singer Marc Anthony, with whom she has 11-year-old twins. She also had a high-profile relationship with actor Ben Affleck.

Rodriguez retired from Major League Baseball in 2016, after a lengthy career, mostly with the New York Yankees. He won one World Series title with the Yankees and was an All-Star 14 times.

His achievements were tarnished by his admission that he used performance-enhancing drugs. He was suspended for the entire 2014 season.

Rodriguez currently works as an on-air baseball analyst.

He has been married once. He and ex-wife Cynthia Scurtis have two daughters.

Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters, Tim Tebow announce engagement

MANILA – Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters reached a relationship milestone a month after passing on her Miss Universe crown.

The South African beauty queen is now engaged to football player Tim Tebow, as seen in the photos they shared on Instagram on Friday (Manila time).

“Any dreams I’ve ever had, you’ve exceeded them all! I love you and I can’t wait to spend forever with you!” Nel-Peters said.

Tebow, for his part, told his fiancée: “Thank you for saying yes and making me the happiest man in the world.”

“You’re the love of my life, and I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you.”

Justin Bieber engaged to model Baldwin: reports

NEW YORK - Trouble-prone pop star Justin Bieber will be a married man after popping the question to model Hailey Baldwin whom he has dated for one month, reports said on Sunday.

The 24-year-old Canadian heartthrob, who has become better known for his off-stage antics, proposed to the 21-year-old over dinner Saturday night at a restaurant in The Bahamas, the celebrity news site TMZ said.

The site quoted witnesses at the restaurant, who said that Bieber's security team asked them all to put their phones away for the proposal.

A representative for Bieber did not comment but relatives of the couple suggested that the news was true.

"Proud is an understatement! Excited for the next chapter!" the singer's father Jeremy Bieber wrote on Instagram with a picture of his son.

His mother, Pattie Mallette, simply tweeted: "Love Love Love Love Love Love Love."

Hailey Baldwin, a model who has taken small acting roles, is the daughter of "The Usual Suspects" actor Stephen Baldwin and niece of Alec Baldwin, the "30 Rock" star and nemesis impersonator of US President Donald Trump. The model's mother is from Brazil.

Bieber has been romantically linked with many famous young women including fellow pop singer Selena Gomez and model Sofia Richie. He was first seen dating Baldwin a month ago.

Bieber, while remaining a top-selling pop star, became a fixture of tabloids over incidents including racing a car through Miami and throwing eggs at a neighbor's house in Los Angeles.

He abruptly ended his global tour last year after more than 150 shows, explaining that he was trying to deal with his insecurities.

Ed Sheeran is engaged.

The British singer and songwriter shared the happy news with his fans on Instagram Saturday night (Manila time), posting a sweet photo of him kissing his girlfriend, Cherry Seaborn.

"Got myself a fiancé just before new year. We are very happy and in love," he wrote as the caption, before joking: "And our cats are chuffed as well."

Sheeran and Seaborn began dating in 2015, although several reports have pointed out that they first met when they were still in school.

Meghan Markle departs 'Suits' after engagement to Prince Harry

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - U.S. actress Meghan Markle has wrapped up her role on legal drama series “Suits” after seven seasons, USA Network and Universal Cable Productions said in a statement on Tuesday, a day after Markle and Britain’s Prince Harry announced their engagement.

Markle, 36, played Rachel Zane on the cable network drama, rising up the ranks from paralegal to lawyer. The character is engaged to be married to Mike Ross, played by Patrick J. Adams.

Markle has completed all her filming for the seventh season, which will return in early 2018, the network said.

“We want to send our most heartfelt congratulations to Meghan Markle and Prince Harry on their engagement,” USA Network and Universal Cable Productions, both units of Comcast Corp, said in a joint statement.

“Meghan has been a member of our family for seven years and it has been a joy to work with her. We want to thank her for her undeniable passion and dedication to Suits, and we wish her the very best,” the statement added.

Markle and Harry, 33, announced on Monday they were getting married in May 2018.

“Game of Thrones” star Sophie Turner and musician Joe Jonas surprised their fans on Monday (Manila time) as they announced their engagement on Instagram.

A photo of Turner’s left hand with an engagement ring was posted on both their Instagram accounts. Turner wrote “I said yes” in the caption, while Jonas said “She said yes.”

Turner and Jonas started dating last year. The two have yet to reveal details about their engagement.

A wedding is coming: Game of Thrones actors announce engagement

LONDON (Reuters) - "Game of Thrones" actors Kit Harington and Rose Leslie, who enjoyed an on-screen romance in the HBO television hit series, announced their engagement in Britain’s Times newspaper on Wednesday.

Harington, who plays Jon Snow in the fantasy drama, met Leslie, who played Ygritte, in 2011 while filming the second season of the Emmy-winning show in Iceland.

“If you’re already attracted to someone, and then they play your love interest in the show, it becomes very easy to fall in love,” Harington told Vogue magazine in an interview last year.

The British duo, both 30, had only a brief on-screen romance before Leslie’s character, Ygritte, died in the arms of Snow in season four. Her final words, “You know nothing, Jon Snow,” have became one of the show’s most famous lines.

Serena Williams gets engaged to Reddit co-founder Ohanian

World number two tennis player Serena Williams has become engaged to Alexis Ohanian, co-founder of the social media company Reddit.

"Down on 1 knee. He said four words. And #isaidyes," the 35-year-old American said on the social media site on Thursday.

"I came home. A little late. Someone had a bag packed for me. And a carriage awaited. Destination: Rome ... back to where our stars first collided."

The New York-born Ohanian, 33, confirmed the news on his Facebook page, writing: "She said yes".

Williams is the best player of her generation. She has won 22 grand slam singles titles, the same as German Steffi Graf and trailing only Australian Margaret Court (24).

Designer Tory Burch welcomed 2016 with a bang as she announced her engagement to her boyfriend of one and a half years, Pierre-Yves Roussel.

Burch, known for her self-named fashion brand, posted a photo of herself and Roussel on her Instagram account with the caption: “We are tying the knot… #blessed #engaged #happynewyear.”



Roussel is the chairman and chief executive officer of LVMH Fashion Group, which owns luxury brands such as Louis Vuitton, Celine, Marc Jacobs and Givenchy.

Bangs Garcia engaged to British boyfriend

MANILA - Actress Bangs Garcia is engaged. The 28-year-old Garcia is set to marry her half-British boyfriend, Lloyd Birchmore, according to a video posted on Instagram by her friend, Star Magic artist Marlann Flores.

The short clip, uploaded Friday evening, shows Birchmore asking Garcia for her hand in marriage. It also provides a glimpse of Garcia's engagement ring. The caption read: "Omg I'm so happy for my best friend Val! I wish you all the best!"

Meanwhile, Garcia posted a photo of her and Birchmore on her Instagram account. The two are currently in Boracay with their respective families for the holidays.

MANILA - "Eat Bulaga" host Vic Sotto and his girlfriend Pauleen Luna are engaged.

The 61-year-old Sotto confirmed the news in an interview with reporters on Wednesday.

He said: "Engaged na kami. Pero ang details sa tamang panahon."

The couple, who marked their fourth year together last December, have been vocal about their plans of tying the knot.

In separate interviews, they agreed that getting married will have to come first before building a family of their own.

Arnell Ignacio calls off engagement with BF

MANILA - Arnell Ignacio has decided to call off his engagement with his boyfriend of nearly four months, the openly gay comedian confirmed in an interview with GMA's Startalk on Saturday.

"Apparently, hindi siya seryoso, eh. Gusto niya pang maglaro," Ignacio, who refused to go into details about his spat with singer Ken El Psalmer, said.

He added that he was willing to help out the 35-year-old Psalmer kickstart his career despite their failed relationship, but has decided against it after the singer "humiliated" him.

Toni in tears as she thanks Paul

MANILA - Toni Gonzaga became emotional when she thanked her soon-to-be husband Paul Soriano for his patience during their seven-year long relationship.

Admitting that her top priorities have always been God, her family and her work, Gonzaga told Kris Aquino on "The Buzz" on Sunday that she was scared that Soriano might get tired of waiting.

“Nung nagsasalita siya, when he was going to propose sa akin, nag-flashback lahat from day one. I remember there were times na he would tell me, ‘For the past seven years, I was never a priority in your life. It has always been God, your family, your work and me… I’ve accepted that for seven years.’ I always pray to God, sabi ko, ‘Lord kung dadating 'yung time na mapagod na si Paul kasi hindi na niya kaya maghintay, Ikaw na ang bahala,’” she said.

Gonzaga said she feels blessed for Soriano's patience.

“He waited for me. Kaya sabi ko, if I become his wife, hindi na siya number three priority. I will make sure na he will only be my main priority and everything else is secondary na lang. I’d like to thank him for enduring everything, for the patience, for understanding and for honoring my parents, for proving that true love waits,” she said.

Gonzaga said Soriano’s unwavering love for her made her realize that she wants him to be the father of her future children.

“[When he honored my parents], na-realize ko na ito 'yung lalaki na gusto ko maging ama ng mga anak ko. He will be a good father kasi naiintindihan niya 'yung nararamdaman ng tatay ko,” she said.

Gonzaga and Soriano got engaged last January 21. They are planning to tie the knot this year.

Toni's 'Buzz' absence triggers engagement rumors

MANILA – Toni Gonzaga on Sunday skipped “The Buzz” due to “something very personal” which she refused to disclose.

In a statement read by co-host Kris Aquino during the Sunday showbiz talk show, Gonzaga apologized for not being present even if she when she was supposed to celebrate her birthday in the program.

“I am very sorry. I know it’s my birthday celebration sa 'Buzz.' I’m very sorry but I cannot attend 'The Buzz' this Sunday. I love my 'Buzz' family so you will be the first people to know why. I’m just going through something very personal and I’m really sorry for the short notice,” she said.

While she is also clueless as to why Gonzaga missed the show, Aquino said she does not think the TV host is going through something sad.

“I don’t think she’s sad. Sometimes, something personal is something you like to keep private for a little bit. But she said tayo sa 'Buzz' ang unang makakaalam. Sa pagkakakilala natin kay Toni, she doesn’t like to burden us with problems. The fact na nakalagay doon na ‘I love my Buzz family at dito ko una ipapaalam,’ ang interpretation ko lang ay hindi ito malungkot na balita,” Aquino said.

This then triggered some netizens to speculate that Gonzaga probably got engaged.




For someone as professional as Gonzaga, Aquino said the reason of her absence must really be something major and she is just hoping that she would share happy news when she gets back.

“Ka-text ko siya. Sabi ko, ‘Ikaw talaga naghanda ako ng gifts.’ Sabi niya, ‘Ate pasensya na. Promise next week nandiyan ako. Babawi ako ng bonggang bongga.’ Sabi ko I’m really just hoping na happy news ito. Tapos hindi na siya nag-reply,” Aquino said laughing.

Despite the speculations that her absence on “The Buzz” has caused, Gonzaga has yet to confirm whether she is indeed engaged to film director Paul Soriano, her boyfriend of over seven years.

Earlier on Sunday, Gonzaga was present in the variety show "ASAP" where she also celebrated her 31st birthday.

Her supporters are now waiting if she will also miss the live telecast of "The Voice of the Philippines" on Sunday night.

MANILA – Actress Jewel Mische said she and her American fiance have promised not to engage in any sexual activity before their marriage.

In an e-mail interview with the entertainment website Pep.ph, Mische said it was her fiance’s idea to stay away from pre-marital sex and have their first kiss on their wedding day.

"When we got together one day, he was like, 'You know, it would be very hard for me not to kiss you. But I want to wait until we get married, I hope you don’t mind,'" she said of her fiance, who works for the research and development team of General Motors in the United States.

"And I was just shocked! I couldn't believe what I just heard!" she added.

"That’s just one of the many confirmations that he is the future husband I have envisioned… We both have the same biblical mindset. We view sex as a priceless treasure box and as God’s wedding present… Waiting to kiss makes this much more attainable!"

Mische met her fiance, identified only as Alister, in a Christian church while the latter was on vacation in the Philippines two years ago.

The actress said Alister makes an effort to communicate with her online and visit her every two to three months.

The two got engaged last Christmas and will tie the knot in the US this winter season.

Mische’s last showbiz boyfriend was actor Jason Abalos, who is now in a relationship with “Pinoy Big Brother” housemate Vickie Rushton.

Mila Kunis Engaged to Ashton Kutcher

They started off as costars on That '70s Show, and now Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis are set to become husband and wife – they're engaged, a source confirms to PEOPLE.

Following widespread speculation that the actors could soon walk down the aisle, Kunis, 30, stepped out with a diamond sparkler on her ring finger while shopping with her mother on Thursday.

"Ashton and Mila have talked about getting married for quite a while," a business source close to Kutcher told PEOPLE in December. Adds another Kutcher pal: "They're incredibly happy together."

Kutcher, 36, and Kunis were first rumored to be dating in April 2012, and from then on, the former costars appeared to be inseparable, enjoying some well-documented PDA and lavish vacations together.





"Ashton loves to travel and so does Mila, so they have seen a lot of new places and both are charged at the idea of doing it more, even living part-time abroad," an insider says. "They seem to have a lot in common, and that helps keep a relationship strong."

It's not the first time the couple has prepared for a wedding: In December the couple attended the marriage of Kunis's brother Michael in St. Petersburg, Fla. Later that month, the two traveled to Kutcher's home state of Iowa to spend time with his family for the holidays, then celebrated his own brother's nuptials earlier this month.



The engagement news comes after it was revealed in November that Kutcher's divorce from Demi Moore had been finalized, nearly two years after the ex-couple separated.




Last year, Moore sought spousal support and legal fees from Kutcher, as the two were reportedly at odds over how to split up their estimated fortune of more than $300 million.

Back in July, another source told PEOPLE that Kutcher was "set on proposing [to Mila]" and added that the actor "really wants to marry her and is so annoyed that there [was] still the hold-up with the divorce" from Moore.

Boots Anson-Roa to marry again at 69

MANILA— "Providence" is the word that veteran actress Boots Anson-Roa used to describe how she found love again at 68 years old.

Widowed for six years, Anson-Roa just got engaged with 74-year-old lawyer Francisco Rodrigo Jr., and will be married again on June 14, 2014.

The newly engaged couple plans to do the traditional "pamamanhikan" to their children on Anson-Roa's 69th birthday on January 20, 2014.

Since both of their spouses passed away a few years back, the couple visited the graves of their former partners first to ask for blessings before they got engaged.

At her age, Anson-Roa said the experience of being engaged is still new to her, since she and her late husband, Pete Roa, eloped before they got married.

"[Nag]Tanan kami ni Pete e, so wala akong engagement ring. Hindi rin ako nakaranas ng formal wedding," Anson-Roa said.

The veteran actress said she never expected to fall in love again, especially with Francisco, who was a high school classmate of her late husband.

A former consul general of the Philippines in the US, Francisco courted Anson-Roa for one year.

"People call it serendipity or fate, but I think it is providence," she said during the formal announcement of their engagement.

Now both at the late stages of their lives, Anson-Roa and Rodrigo found themselves in love more than ever, proving the old saying “age doesn’t matter.”

Jericho proposes to girlfriend

Actor Jericho Rosales on Sunday asked his girlfriend, TV host Kim Jones, to marry him.

In his personal Instagram account, Rosales posted a picture of Jones showing off her engagement ring as he thanked his soon-to-be wife for saying yes.

“Ok here's the real one. I love you, Miss Jones. You are the love of my life. Thank you for saying YES (to forever) to me. Happy birthday! God is amazing! Yeeeeeehaaa! We are engaged!!!!” he said.

Jones, for her part, also thanked Rosales for making her the “happiest lady in the world.”

In an interview with “The Buzz” on Sunday, Rosales shared how he proposed to Jones.

“I just had that feeling in my heart na I have to propose sa Church. It cannot be like kaming dalawang lang. I felt like I had to propose in front of people na hindi konektado sa akin. [The Church] allowed it,” he said.

“I went up onstage, the pastor called me. He was talking about how much God loves us. And then pag-akyat ko, I opened up with ‘Why me? Why does God love me after everything that I have done in life? He has an unconditional love for us.’ And then the next question was why me pa rin but take out the letter H and add another M: W-Y-M-M-Y, which means will you marry me,” Rosales added.

After his proposal, Rosales shared that he and Jones were both crying.

Rosales said they are planning to have a beach wedding but they don’t have a specific date for the occasion yet.

In his previous interviews, Rosales admitted that he and Jones have already been talking about settling down.

It was in February 2012 when Rosales first introduced Jones as his girlfriend to the public. Appearing on “KrisTV,” Rosales showed a picture of Jones and said they became a couple since late 2011.

Jones, a Filipino-British model who grew up in Australia, is the host of the lifestyle show "Etcetera."

Richard Poon, Maricar Reyes are engaged

MANILA, Philippines -- It's confirmed: actress Maricar Reyes is engaged to singer Richard Poon.

Poon made the confirmation to members of the media on Monday during the launch of his first pop album titled "Legends."

"Oo [engaged na]," the singer said, without giving further details about their planned wedding.

"Kapag may detalye 'yan, probably dahan-dahan ay ibibigay namin," he added.

"Sabi ko nga kung pwede, bukas na [kami ikasal]. Pero pinaplano talaga. I'm sure, if anyone is getting, you know... seriously, if you are planning for a wedding, ang daming detalyeng pumasok, kailangan ko munang magplano for a while."

Poon said Reyes is set to talk about their engagement in an exclusive interview.

He praised the actress for being a "very simple" bride-to-be.

"I like her because she's very simple, 'di siya 'bilhan mo 'ko noon, bilhan mo ako niyan.' She's a very private person. Simpleng joy lang, [sasabihin niya] 'gusto ko makasama ka, usap tayo nang maayos.' [Gusto lang niya] maganda 'yung conversation," Poon said of Reyes.

According to the singer, Reyes already met his parents.

"Maganda, magaan [ang pakiramdam]. Amazingly, my dad, medyo mahirap i-please [pero] gustong gusto niya si Mars (Reyes) so I'm happy. Kapag nag-uusap ang mga 'yan ay maluwang, magaan," he said.

Visibly happy that he and Reyes are set to tie the knot, Poon then recalled the day he first saw the actress.

"Noong unang kita ko pa lang sa kanya, sa 'Betty La Fea,' ay crush ko siya. Pero noong nakilala ko siya, may character siya, grace under pressure. I think that speaks a lot... She's gone through a lot. I just like how her character handled it. Importante sa akin 'yon for the long term," he said.

"Alam mo, sa totoo lang, a lot of us can be offended of many things. Kaya lang, ako mismo ay sablay din. So who am I to judge na I cannot accept a certain thing or another thing kung ako mismo ay sablay ako?" the singer said when asked if he has accepted Reyes' controversial past.

"Ang dami kong shortcomings and character flaws. So, I'm not in the position to judge anyone, kahit na-offend ako ng kahit sino," he added.

In a previous interview, Poon said that Reyes is the first woman in showbiz that he has pursued.

He also said that Reyes is the "answer to his prayers of finding the right one."

"Most of the things that I'm looking for ay nasa kanya....Sa kanya, a lot of our differences complement, so that's nice," he was quoted as saying.

It was in 2010 when Poon admitted that he is going out with Reyes.
